Our dog Zooey was a patient of BLVD Ravenswood for a couple of years towards the end of her life, and I'm sad we didn't find them sooner. While we've never had a bad experience at any of the BLVD locations, the Ravenswood team went above and beyond. They were always thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate while helping us navigate some difficult medical issues, including osteoarthritis and the diagnosis of an oral melanoma. When Zooey's arthritis became more severe and she was coming in for monthly injections, the staff went out of their way to make her comfortable. They truly made her feel like a VIP -- rolling out carpets so she wouldn't slip on the floors, bringing blankets to help her get settled, and even proactively coming out to the street once to help me get her safely into the clinic. Those small acts of care meant so much when she was struggling. Recently, after Zooey passed, they surprised us by sending flowers. It was such an unexpected and meaningful gesture during a really difficult time. Small acts of kindness like that remind you that the people caring for your pets truly understand how much they mean to your family. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. We trusted Boulevard Vet to help us as new parents to our 8 month old, 8 pound puppy. He had non-stop, bloody diarrhea on 7/10/2026. We have been patients since 1/2026 and took him for help. He got sick again on their office floor. They sent us home without giving him fluids, with a probiotic that would take "several days to kick in" and told us that he was underweight (after months of telling us to reduce his food and watch his weight). They also asked us where he had been neutered and where we heard to reduce his food - all of which was told to us by the vets at Boulevard. He continued to deteriorate for the next 2 hours and started violently shaking and yelping when I tried to pick him up. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where they were very concerned and admitted him for 2 nights (7/10/2026 - 7/12/2026). Had I listened to the recommendation from Boulevard Vet, who knows what would have happened to our little guy. When I called to tell them what had happened and how upset we were, they claimed they did nothing wrong and that "hopefully he would recover" - completely lacking empathy. They also would not reimburse us for a $300 visit (where they did nothing to help our puppy), just solidifying that they do not care about the wellbeing of pets or parents. If you love your pet, DO NOT go to any locations of Boulevard Vet in Chicago. read more

Being a first time cat mom/butler, I brought my beloved orange boy here. He's had his number of issues but Dr. Bennett (& Dr. Coureville) have been absolutely wonderful. Really, the entire staff is amazing. You can tell they really care for everyone's furry family members. It's been almost a year & we're not going anywhere else. Teddy has been through his ups & downs with diarrhea/the crappening, ringworm, & other issues. It's tough but everyone here helped us get through it. Everyone has been so supportive. We saw Dr. Bennett again today & a vet tech Logan. As usual, the service & care was excellent. While I was super worried, Logan was quick to keep me (& Ted) at ease. They are very expensive and push the teeth cleaning even when not needed. They told me my cat needed a teeth cleaning 2 years after the first one and when I took him to Duke animal hospital (MUCH BETTER) they said his teeth had mild tartar but were fine. It takes days to get an appointment (Duke got me in the same day) and they can be cold, curt (especially Dr. Raja who suggested my cat might have terminal cancer when all he had was an anxiety disorder) and very unhelpful. My cat had a bacterial infection that they had treated in the past and came back a year later. I followed the same protocol as previous and it was not working. I sent an email and they suggested a dermatologist when one quick look at his record would have showed it was NOT an allergy but the result of compulsive grooming. They were of NO help. I took him to Duke and they gave him a antibacterial shot and he was better literally within a day. I gave them an extra star because the place is clean and they are professional, just often not very helpful, compassionate or easy to deal with. read more

We absolutely love this neighborhood vet. Everyone who works here is so kind and friendly, I especially love when the people working behind the front desk come around to say hi and pet my dog! They have a gorgeous interior - every detail is beautiful and feels so nice for a vet. The lobby is bright, clean, and beautiful! With pretty white and gold tile, wood, and their signature brand blue throughout, it is very pretty and you'll be shocked you're at a Vet! They also have individual little booth cubbies which is so nice for while you wait to separate your pets. Everyone we've worked with here has been fantastic and the never have trouble getting an appointment. I also love that they have multiple locations throughout the city so if you have an urgent case and one location doesn't have appointments, they can check to see if you can get in at another of their locations. BLVD has restored my faith in vets! After our last vet moved and the office itself was taken over by a private equity company, I knew we needed a new home to take our pets that was locally owned. Needless to say, BLVD has checked all the boxes and Dr. Munoz is a favorite of ours. Our cat even had a teeth cleaning here and though we were perhaps more scared than she was, we knew she was in the BEST of hands! This has been the vet for my two cats since we moved to the area, and I can only say great things. One of our first visits was to evaluate my senior cat for a dental cleaning. They did a thorough exam and a special blood workup to make sure she would do ok under anesthesia. During the procedure they have an extra technician present to help monitor the patient's status, which gave me a little more peace of mind. In the end, they found a bunch of broken teeth and an abscess that they fixed right up, and afterwards she was a whole new cat! Ever since then, we have been bringing both cats in regularly for exams. The senior cat is now on Solensia, which the doctor recommended, and she has been running and jumping around more than ever. I will continue going here as long as I live in the area. They are usually able to get me in within a reasonable time frame (definitely faster than Pets First) and seem to really care about the patients. read more

I have had a very complicated time at this vet. Overall the vets themselves were incredible and carrying. During my families short time at the vet they were great when we had to deal with the loss of my parents elderly dog and my elderly cat. It was very tough for the 4 month with the vet getting my cats precreation refilled. I had to call in each month and ask them to refill it and ask for it to be auto refilled but the change was never made until the month my cat passed. My future brother in law got a travel doc from them to help moved his dog to to Spain but the vet tech listed the dog coloring incorrect. read more

Admittedly, I am not a frequent veterinarian user. I have two cats and they have both been generally healthy and fine (my 12 year old has been to the vet maybe 3 times in his life). This practice works for me and my little fur family... until something goes wrong. Upon returning from a weekend trip, Pepper, my little 5 year old, was listless, congested and not eating food or drinking water. I tried some home remedies - warmed up wet food, trapping Pepper in the bathroom with water and food... but nothing worked. Eventually, debilitating worry set in (never try WebMD-ing for your cat - it'll only terrify you), so I called Boulevard to see if I could get him in. They were able to see Pepper the same day, which was incredibly convenient for me. When I arrived, I waited no more than 5 minutes before I was in a room with the Veterinarian Technician. They walked me through some of the basics and were incredibly gentle with Pepper, who remained curious, congested, and probably scared of the new setting. Within another 5 minutes, the Veterinarian Doctor was in with us and did a quick, but thorough, exam and was able to provide a diagnoses within minutes. Immediately set at ease, the gave Pepper some fluids and some medicine and sent me home with some antibiotics. I was in and out in less than 25 minutes. Everyone at Boulevard was kind, professional, and efficient. They were gentle with Pepper and helped calm me who, as mentioned above, went on a Google binge of cat diseases. You never realize how important your little fur friends are until something scary happens, and I'm so thankful for the team at Boulevard for treating Pepper. For those that are actually still reading this novel (and care to know), Pepper is infinitely better just two days later and already up to his usual mischief. I highly recommend Boulevard and am happy that, after 4 years in Chicago, I've found my local vet to take care of my fur children whenever they may need it. read more

Our pups first visit was wonderful. He's 10 weeks and not a big fan of car rides or being outdoors right now. He was trembling as we arrived. The team at BLVD Veterinary Ravenswood was very patient, understanding, and gentle with our little guy. He definitely knew he was in good hands. Safe to say as he was giving tons of puppy kisses and smiled for a picture. My experience was a breeze. From the moment I walked in, until it was time to leave, the team communicated throughout (first timer here). I was definitely nervous and had no idea what to expect, but rest assured everyone walked me through the process while still giving tons of love and attention to my pup. The waiting space has divided seats that feel like booths for you and your pet. Spacious and comfortable. The facility itself is very spacious, bright, and clean space. I love Boulevard Vet and every single person who works here. Do not hesitate to bring your pet here as he/she will receive the highest level of care. My dog developed a mass on his toe that was in a very tricky location. His vet wouldn't remove it and told me I needed to consult with a surgical specialist. Initially we went to MedVet, and the people there were super nice, but my dog was extremely anxious the whole time and I hated the idea of bringing him back to a place he was afraid of. I did some more research and learned that Boulevard Vet, which is located very close to my home, partners with Chicago Veterinary Surgery to offer specialized surgical procedures in-house. Not only was my dog much more comfortable at Boulevard during our consultation than at MedVet, but so was I. I was so impressed that the veterinary technician and surgeon spent so much time with us, answering all my questions and making sure I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision about my dog's well-being. I ultimately decided to have the surgery done here, and everything went incredibly well. My dog is almost completely healed and the experience at Boulevard was amazing. The team is extremely professional, lightening fast to respond to my many, MANY phone calls and emails, and also super sweet and kind to me and my dog. Also, I am probably the worst possible kind of dog mom client because I am incredibly anxious about everything related to my baby, and everyone at Boulevard took my anxiety in stride and did everything possible to put me at ease throughout the entire process. Everyone I have encountered at Boulevard is wonderful. However, I want to give two special shout-outs: one goes to Dr. Wosar, who did an incredible job on the surgery. Seriously, I have never seen any incision site, human, canine, or otherwise, heal as perfectly as my dog's did after this procedure. The second shout-out goes to Yirald, the veterinary technician who was so kind to me the first time I went to Boulevard and who was with us at almost every visit since. He took amazing care of my dog on the day of his surgery and every step of the way after. He is so great and he was extremely patient with me, even at the moments when I was at my most anxious and least pleasant. (Note to the Boulevard owners: please give Yirald a huge raise, not only because he deserves it, but so he will hopefully never leave!) My healthy dog was in for a routine exam at BLVD Vet Ravenswood. She was taken to the back to have her ears checked and was killed during the exam, with no information given as to what actually happened. Just prior to her passing, the staff had her in two (2) muzzles as well as wrapped tightly in a blanket. I was told "these things happen" and sent a sympathy card. read more

When my old vet passed away I searched for a new vet and called BLVD as it is conveniently located. I was told that a particular vet specialized in cats so I figured I would go there. Sure enough the highly recommended vet was sick that day, but rather than being called, I was told when I arrived. This happened twice more, and I have come to realize that people are intentionally not called so once there you will take whoever is available, so BLVD does not lose any appointments. When I came to see my vet the last time, he was not there but this time I was told that three vets were scheduled that day, but two did not show and he was required to do all the vets' bookings. The employee who told me said there was a very loud discussion and my vet was no longer there. BLVD allocates 30 minutes per patient (per its website) so there was no way one doctor could see a triple load, but again, it appears the money was more important than the care. I had a problem with the practice manager, actually several, and asked to speak to someone above her and Deb at the front desk said the owner doesn't talk to clients so that is why each location has a practice manager. I have been charged for services not rendered, injections not given, and though you do not have to purchase medication there, be forewarned that every medication my cats were prescribed were at least twice as much compared to Chewy. My problem is the manner in which clients (pet parents if you prefer) are treated by BLVD, not the vets. In my opinion the owner is interested in getting every last dollar ahead of the concerns of the pets' health. read more

Like many, we followed Dr. Muñoz, here from Uptown Animal Hospital. Nothing against UAH. Their biggest problem is that the neighborhood needs another freaking vet within 3 blocks of there, because it's demanding small dog owner central. But we had moved farther South and she was a favorite so were happy to discover she was actually at a vet that was now closer to us. Muñoz is excellent and well-liked for too many reasons to list. She's basically a rockstar. She doesn't need my help. If you're asking, yes!. Need a new ve... yes, don't be stupid unless you're madly in love with the one you already have. But if you don't know any vets in the area and... yeah yeah, shut up, get Muñoz if you can. She's a no-brainer. Doesn't need my review. The clinic as a whole, is why I'm here. It is clean. It is tasteful and well-appointed. The examination rooms never feel like a place one might get murdered in. The staff at every level is exceedingly well-hired. They care. They're nice. They handle crazy pet owners probably better than they should, i.e. we can see hints of nasty customers in the way they prepare us for things we would never plan on being jerks about, but never cracks in the professional veneer or what looks an awful lot to me like legit caring about your animal and animals in general. I've seen other ex-UAH folk complain about pricing. No idea what they're talking about, which is surprising giving the other stuff I've listed so far. And you'll never be surprised by costs if you're paying attention. I never, not once, over the course of a not-cheap kitty crisis that didn't end well, found out how much something was going to cost after they acted on it. Nor did I ever have to ask beforehand. Why is it any other way anywhere else? And I still feel deeply indebted to them for handling it as well as they did even though we ultimately lost one of the coolest cats in the multiverse across all time. Because handling it as well as they did, made it easier to lose this animal that has been a miracle to us, every day of every week of every month of each of 14 years since she adopted us on the street. From the vets, to the techs, to the exceptional front desk, I never felt like I was just another schmuck, or a wallet, or that I was wasting my time trying to be a human to another human because it's ultimately just a job to them. Given that, I'd be happy to eat the not-big-risk of seeing other vets there if our favorite happened to be busy, but I haven't had to yet. It will be very hard to leave this clinic if we move again. Other clinics, learn from this duh-example. Don't avoid cost conversations. Hire your front desk folks like they're at least as important as the actual quality of the vets and techs that you hire. Started taking my dog here after he had exhibited significant stress on multiple occasions after seeing his old vet. He seemed much more relaxed after coming out from his appointment at BLVD. The staff was great - you can really tell everyone here loves animals. For my dog's appointment, they gave me multiple options to treat his allergies - 2 of the 3 being options I hadn't heard suggested before. Amazing place- I wish they treated exotics too because I would transfer my birds to here as well! Dr Munoz took care of my little kitten after he came down with an URI from visiting ANOTHER vet office! I took my kitten to my normal vet, he got a clean bill of health and walked away with an URI! BLVD took time to REALLY listen to me, I never felt rushed or felt like I was asking dumb questions. They treated my kitty like gold and loved upon him! Spoiled him really haha with treats! Every visit has been successful, not walking away with a URI, never additional issues. Some vets remind me of a car body shop that when you go in for an oil change...somehow...strangely you drive away with a NEW issue causing you more $$. BLVD is NOT like that. Trust me. The first time I went here it was good, but what happened this time seems deceptive to me, and that is not something that I want in a vet. I will be going to a different one from now on. One concern I brought up was my dog eating his stool. They said they would send me home something that will help with that. My breeder told me specifically to use Heartgard Plus for my French Bulldog, and topical treatment for fleas or ticks if that's necessary because French Bulldogs don't tolerate the flea/tick pills well. It's in the contract with the breeder that giving them pills that include flea/tick prevention will void the warranty. The breeder said some vets push hard for the pills because the vet gets a lot of money from the pill companies to use their product. She also said it wouldn't be necessary for 6 months anyway for heartworms. When I was there last they wanted to give him one of these pills that included flea/tick prevention, and I asked if they had one just for heartworm but they said this was the only one they use. This time I saw Dr. Esser. I brought this up again and explained that using the pill would void the breeder's warranty on my dog. When I got home and opened the bag, I didn't see anything for his stool (which was my concern), but I did see the pill there. Dr. Esser did not ask me if I wanted the pill or tell me it was going to be included. Then I looked at my receipt and found that they charged me for it. This, to me, validates what my breeder said about some vets pushing these pills. They knew that giving my dog the pill would void the warranty with my breeder (whose own vet apparently says to avoid using flea/tick pills), but they included and charged me for it anyway without telling me. They should have asked or at least mentioned this. read more

It was not easy during Covid to find a vet that 1) would allow me to be present at the end and 2) had an appointment available (thank you whoever cancelled for that evening). We'd been seeing the same vet in our old neighborhood for over 30 years, but wanted somewhere close that we could walk to and get to quickly in an emergency. We were totally thrilled with everything about Boulevard - the staff made Lena, who can get a bit nervous at the vet, feel comfortable and happy. Dr Muñoz is lovely and Lena took to her right away. We hoped this would be our vet. But found we see a tech and not the vet. When my dog was showing obvious signs of her first heat we asked about this and got less information than I could find on the internet. The prices are outrageous. 3x the price for spaying than other reputable highly recommended city vets. No complimentary nail clips when you're already in there paying $300 plus for vaccinations. I have had the pleasure of bringing our dogs to Boulevard for the past year. They did prenatal screening for my mini dachshund, as well as her care while she was pregnant. Once her five puppies were born, they did their initial wellness check, as well as their required vaccinations and their final wellness check before they went to their homes. Every single person I have spoken to or interacted with has been professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. The care they provide cannot be matched. Both of our mini dachshunds had appointments last night, and both girls were thrilled to see everyone. The client care professionals at the front are always generous with their attention and belly rubs, which both girls adore. This place is amazing and patient, not only with my cat but also with an overbearing and anxious owner. Every positive and amazing thing I have ever heard from friends who have taken their pets to the Logan Square location is 100% true. Dr. Munoz and the staff at BLVD actually listened to my concerns about my cat's health. That pesky head shake that I have been telling my last vet seemed to be ear related was finally diagnosed as a mild ear infection. I was provided a list of things that could help an itchy sensitive skinned cat and not just an estimate for an allergy test. But most importantly I was not owner shamed because my cat is chubby. As for my cat, this was the first time in 12 years he didn't hide when he got back home, but instead laid in the middle of the living room and glared so I knew he was holding a grudge. read more

I am very impressed with this practice and Dr. Munoz. They are professional and caring. Follow-up is exceptional. They obviously care about animals and their owners. They helped me enormously with end-of-life issues with my hyperthyroid cat, Bella. I just had a first visit with them for Lacie (my 8-year-old cat), who I adopted from PAWS a few months ago. BLVD Ravenswood is wonderful. My dog can't get in the door fast enough every time we've gone for a visit! Every staff member I have interacted with was very kind and helpful, and treated my pup the same! It's super easy to schedule appointments online, even semi-last minute. They always respond promptly, and follow up after visits. They have always taken great care of my pup, very thorough in exams and tests when needed, and have given me options for treatments, medicines, etc. regarding costs, which I appreciate.
