Don't let the crowded interior scare you off. This tiny little boutique is a gem! I'm a regular PB boutique shopper, and I am completely devoted to this new store. If you are looking for the perfect little sun dress, party dress or something in between this place will have it, and at a great price! They have nicer stuff than Pink Zone or the Closet for about the same price. The only down side is that the actual store is really small and crammed full of cute clothes, they only have two dressing rooms too. But being a little crowded is worth it to find the perfect outfit! I love this store! I've never really shopped here before, but a cute top and dress caught my eye one day and I decided to stop in. All the styles were so cute and the layout of the store was appealing. Definitely liked how they utilized the small space in a way that works well with the amount of stuff they sell. I ended up with a dress that I love and I've seen some dresses that I may come back for soon. Customer service was fantastic. The girls working were SO helpful and so sweet with suggestions. It's definitely not everyone's place in customer service, but these girls rocked it. I'm definitely coming back - that's for sure! Their online store is great also, but I prefer to shop in-store. You definitely feel the love for fashion, and the vibe is great when you set foot in the store. Absolutely love this place ! I definitely will be back due to Gloria's helpful and friendly demeanor. I was so close to giving up on finding a new dress for a wedding but she was so persistent in finding me one I felt comfortable with her. She knew exactly what was the best fit for me. This place is awesome for dresses. They have imitations of a lot of Nordstrom dresses -- slightly lower quality, but dramatically lower price. I bought a green dress here for ~$45 that looked and fit exactly like its Nordstrom counterpart that retailed at ~$150 -- the only difference was the Nordstrom dress was made of thicker material and likely sturdier. Plus, the dress at Nordstrom didn't come in green like I wanted. read more

I was flipping through an SDSU coupon book a couple of months ago, and there was a coupon for Fabulous Rag that was offering a " free bracelet, no purchase necessary." Well, alright then, I'm tearing this bad boy right on out! I figured if I am ever in PB, I might as well use the damn thing to spice up my outfit! So this Sunday I just happened to be in PB and was like hey, COUPON..FREE BRACELET TIME! I have seen this boutique before, but avoided going in because from the outside, it looked really upscale and pricey. It is right next to Yogurtland if you are wondering how convenient! As I walked inside the store, it was very chic and fashionable..kinda like an upgraded forever 21 but more organized. Fabulous Rag...haha I totally judged this store wrong. I knew it was for women's clothing, but I thought it for specifically for the "older" women...like mom's and grandmas..DEFINIETLY NOT! I presented the coupon to the store employee who was a man..which was pretty shocking and unexpected. Here was a guy surrounded with women's clothing..hmm interesting, but hilarious! But he was super friendly and showed me the selection of bracelets I could choose from. I was expecting to get like this ratty, string, or rubber band type of deal, but no these were like designer and trendy shit. The man told me I can choose any bracelet that was under $3...so I choose a silver leaf arm bracelet...sounds ugly but believe me you would be jealous =) This place is like a diamond in the ruff. I have been on a shopping bender lately. Stopped in this store and came out with a Vegas dress with no plans to go to Vegas anytime soon. The staff was nice, but tried to convince me that this Vegas dress was tasteful enough to throw a cardigan over it and wear to work and that we dont live in the 1950's anymore and etc.... Two things, 1) I am over 30 and 2) the hemline was closer to my hip than to my knee, I am not actually sure if it would cover my ass if I sat down... Wear this to work? Sorry I have an office job. Who knows if I will ever be brave enough to wear it out in public!! Anyway it was really amusing to me and the girls were totally sweet. My FAVORITE San Diego boutique!!! Iris, the owner, Is such a sweetheart and has such awesome taste! The selection is superb.... There are tight lil sexy dresses, a ton of beautiful maxi dresses, flowy gowns, fun summer tops, cute handbags, flirty summer dresses, funky and inexpensive jewelry, and more. I am seriously addicted to this store. I probably pop in at least once a week to check out anything new..... They have great sales all the time, too. If you "Like" them on Facebook or sign up for their email list, they will notify you of the sales. I also just found out that Miss Match in OB (My other favorite shop) is by the same owner. Today, if only for today, this store should get a less than ZERO ranking. I had the most horrible meeting with a most horrible 'owner and manager'. Her name is Meghan. She said she was the owner and manager but later I found out that she was not. I walked in with a friend and we were browsing around. NO ONE said hello or asked if we needed help. This Meghan walked by me in the aisle and i said 'excuse me' because she walked so close to me i thought i should say something (I am accustomed to acknowledging other human beings that I come in contact with). I assume it was my 'excuse me' that set this girl off (brown hair, skinny with a sour look on her face- oh and condescending smile). When my friend and I were ready to leave I DISTINCTLY hear, "GOODBYE BITC*ES!'.... as I walked out of the door. I immediately turned around to confirm what I had abhorrently heard. She smiled with that fake smile and said I didn't say anything. I grabbed a business card and said that I was contacting the owner and started off. That is when she said 'I am the Owner!." - at this point i just felt SAD for this business. If that was the owner - it will not make it for long. After i left i was still shaken up about it so i called the number on the card. The girl at the counter confirmed that it was the owner- and said if I needed to talk to her i should come back. So I did. This time it was MUCH MUCH Worse. She was with a customer and started arguing with me and saying that she doesn't know why I'm so upset- right in front of another customer. I said I'll wait until you are dint with the transaction - but she said, "NO, say whatever you want.".. So i told her that she was extremely rude and that I will contact BBB and write the local papers (I was that heated). She was so dis-concerning and filled with contempt that i just had to leave. Before i left i told everybody in the store not to buy anything there. Then I said again, when i was just about to leave, You DID say "Goodbye Bitc*es" !!! and when i left the SECOND Time she said it AGAIN!!... DO NOT PATRONIZE THAT STORE WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. IN GRATEFUL PEOPLE THAT JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND DO NT CARE IF THEY ARE RUDE TO ANOTHER SOUL. read more

The Fabulous Rag could possibly be one of the most awesome clothing stores in San Diego...certainly one of my favorite. The quality of the clothes and selection that you find there is superior to the competition in the area at that price point, and beyond. Also, the staff is very friendly and treats customers like guests in their home and their regulars like family. Newly remodeled, there is no longer a crowded interior...it is BEAUTIFUL in there. I walked into the Fab Rag today with little to no clue what I wanted. I needed a gown for the opera and as a not very "girlie" girl, I was clueless as to where to begin. The girl behind the counter was an angel- not only did she ask me great questions about the event, but she talked to me about what I liked and what I would be comfortable with for the event. While she is talking with me, we walked around the store and she began pulling dresses off the racks. She was more than knowledgeable about the product in the store, the girl rockedassessment, body type and size!! (She didn't even ask my size!!). I tried on 3 dresses and found the perfect dress. After scrolling through pictures I found an outfit, custom to this boutique and decided to go in (2 hours) before the ceremony and take a look. April was an absolute gem from the moment I stepped through the door to when I left. It's a tiny little store by the beach. As expected there was not a huge selection. The customer service was severely lacking, when we first showed up the associate was sitting outside and rudely told us to come back in a half an hour. I understand that people need their brakes and it's a small store but maybe don't sit right outside and then be super rude when people are interested in coming in your store. When we did return she was not any friendlier even if I did find a dress I like there I would not have purchased it. There's a million other dress shops on this street alone I would advise to go to one of those instead. read more
