Hertz Paramus failed to properly close my rental, continued pursuing charges and return demands,…read moreand sent repossession-related notices even after I repeatedly contacted Hertz and obtained another rental through the same program. They had access to the account records, internal notes, and recorded calls, yet failed to investigate or correct the problem before it escalated into months of billing disputes and court proceedings. This was not one harmless mistake. It was a repeated failure to communicate, document, mitigate, and take responsibility. Any customer dealing with this location should save every agreement, email, screenshot, and call record. A problem Hertz creates can quickly become the customer's burden to disprove. They charged me over two grand for three days in a rental, luckily the court ruled in my favor because they even sought legal fees from me. Incredibly risky place to do business, I fronted the charges without issue for a month, and they still treated me as if I was the problem. Up until the judge ruled in my favor and in favor of my damages. Hertz will exert control over your bank regardless of what you say or do, so be careful!

Made an online reservation, came to pick up vehicle, and was told there was no vehicle available…read more Then was told we should have called before coming. No resolution, no apology, no assistance, terrible customer service. I don't know if it's a corporate issue or just this location but this is the worst rental experience. There's no way someone can make reservations online for items that do not exist. Employees in the customer service field should know and understand how to service customers. Blaming the customer for not calling ahead (not a normal practice at all) is disrespectful and ridiculous! Will not be returning to this location and it's already been reported to corporate.

UPDATE AS OF 7/31:…read more FYI: RESPONSES FROM BUSINESS MANAGER KIM/CHRISTINA ARE PERFORMATIVE. THEY IN FACT DONT LOOK INTO THE ISSUE FURTHER. Update: After receiving a response from Enterprise on Yelp, I submitted a follow up complaint using the link provided by Kim as requested. I later received a call from Area Manager Javion Palmer. The purpose of the call was essentially to tell me that I had "agreed" to the one way drop off charge when I changed my reservation and that his staff had no obligation to disclose the fee because, in his view, it was implied during the booking process. I also shared that, throughout this experience, I felt dismissed as a woman of color. Before I could fully explain why I felt that way, he quickly interrupted me to say that this "wasn't about race." At no point did he ask why I felt that way or try to understand my perspective. The conversation reinforced my original concerns. Rather than addressing the lack of transparency surrounding the unexpected charge or acknowledging how the situation was handled, the focus remained on defending the process. As a customer, I expected accountability and a genuine effort to understand my concerns. Instead, I left the conversation feeling just as dismissed as I did when this began. ---- My experience with the Enterprise Paramus location was extremely disappointing. From check in to check out, the staff came across as condescending and seemed more interested in engaging in a power struggle than providing good customer service. The biggest issue was a one way drop off fee. I was charged $300, which was later "reduced" to $200, for returning my rental to a different Enterprise location. At no point when I called Enterprise customer service to change my drop off location was I told there would be an additional charge. Likewise, the employee who accepted the vehicle at the return location never mentioned any fee. Being blindsided by a $300 charge after the fact is unacceptable. When I spoke with Assistant Manager Nora Frederick at Paramus, she told me she was "an emotional thinker" and that she understood why I was upset. The comment came across as implying that my concern was emotional rather than a reasonable reaction to an unexpected charge that had never been disclosed. The handling of my return was also frustrating. It took approximately 48 hours to receive my invoice. During that time, I had to call and email Nora Frederick multiple times just to have the rental I had already returned closed out. The vehicle itself, a BMW 330i, was great, but it was given to me without being washed. It had noticeable water stains all over the exterior, which was disappointing for a premium vehicle. By the end of this experience, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was treated differently than I should have been. The dismissive attitude and lack of respect I encountered left me questioning whether bias played a role in how I was treated. I hope Enterprise takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every customer is treated with professionalism, transparency, and respect.

Don't ever rent from this facility. They master in the "bait and switch". I tried renting a sedan…read morefrom here on their website. The website showed sedans were available and issued me a confirmation after booking. When I arrived to pick up the car, the person told me there were no sedans available. The only thing that was available were SUV's at a higher price. After she refused to rent me the SUV at the original price I had for my sedan rental, I left and got a better vehicle at Hertz in Paramus. I was told I could not escalate with a local manager. I could only escalate with customer service on their website. I wish I could give this location 0 stars, because that is what they deserve. Never again, Enterprise. Hertz, my business is now with you.
