Made my first visit to Bourbon Highway this Saturday. Arrived at 5, we wanted to eat then do the swing lesson. The woman at the door was super friendly, food was as expected, better than bar food. Drinks were cool, no issue there. The server could have been a bit more friendly and attentive, but nothing to complain about. Swing instructor was awesome, very attentive and made us feel like he wanted us to get it. Line dancing wasn't on my bingo card for this year, but we stayed and tried it. The instruction was a little fast for me, but that was probably more about me than her! We loved the swing so much we want to make it a regular thing. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

This bar sucks, they're never open and have terrible staff. Menu is underwhelming and over priced. The bourbon list is pathetic for a place named "bourbon highway" and they charge a cover for a bar that is usually 20% full. The entire business is a joke because the location is amazing. Great happy hour! Tried one of the cocktails, wings, and half nachos off the HH menu. All were $7 and very tasty. The space is large and festive for the holidays. This would be a great place to watch a game and grab a drink. read more

Fantastic Happy Hour, daily from 4-6. $2 tacos on Tuesday, good selection of TV's and the friendly staff will often turn on the audio for the game is you ask nicely. If you're downtown Walnut Creek and looking to kill a few hours, Bourbon Highway is an excellent option to grab some food and a couple drinks. read more

I'm a local and I come for the happy hour 4-6. $6 - it's the best happy hour in the Creek. I can only speak on my experience which has been good every time. Their atmosphere is lively and like a dive bar. Sometimes the games are on too loud when there could be be country music playing instead but I think that depends on the day. I've had the chicken wings and they have been perfect every time- would say they're the best I've had - crispy and never undercooked. They have a LARGE selection of bourbons and a menu dedicated solely - and that's pretty cool so you don't have to be asking what everything costs!!! We came within the happy hour window and it timed well with the episode starting at 6 pm :-) the staff was very friendly and helpful, and even though it got super crowded and our orders were getting mixed up, it was still an enjoyable time with the Love Island watchers. They even provided leis! How cute LOL. We got the appetizers and we devoured it while watching the show. The alcoholic drinks however did taste a little off I'm not sure what it was. read more

We had to do everything! Clean our own table up , go to the bar to get our drinks and food . No service at all . So disappointed.

This place looked super cool we were meeting some friends nearby so we decided to meet here, first you have to pay to park either on the street with quarters or card there is also a garage close. We arrived and it's super cute the owner was working alone she was nice we were lovin the vibes... The menu is small no vegetarian options except sides. They call themselves a "country kitchen" yet no southern foods on the menu. The food came out pretty but wasn't good at all everyone ordered bacon burgers but I didn't see bacon the fries were hard onion rings were bad salads were very expensive for just a bowl of lettuce. That said I still want to give them another try. I think they can get a better menu & cook. It really seems to be a drinking establishment the bar is well stocked and the drinks were good but the appetizer's weren't. I still think the lovely owner will get this place in order it's too cute not to. There is an upstairs dance hall with live music. read more

First of all there was no one helping at the counter to order. You had to place your order on a kiosk. Then we waited for someone to clean our table which no one did until the sweet people at the table next to us asked for help. We received our food and I was still looking for someone to ask to have the rest of our table cleaned and my sandwich came burnt. So they remade it and the comment was they asked them to lightly toast it. That wasn't the issue it was burnt! I even tasted it to make sure it wasn't the look of the bread. We never received our water so I had to go back and find someone once again. All while the sweet people who sat before us and saw all this never received their food. This was just not an experience I would want to try again. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Went here earlier this week (Tuesday June 24) and got food poisoning. Just starting to feel better now (Saturday June 28). Like many of the other reviews said, pricey and bad service the food poisoning was just the cherry on top. Fries are 5+ stars. Perfectly fried, professionally seasoned, & seem hand cut. I loved both the ketchup & the orange dipping sauce. I selected the slider combo because I couldn't decide on one sandwich. The pulled pork was my favorite but the spicy chicken was solid, as well. The hamburger felt a little like the girl that no one asks to dance because she's standing next to two bombshells. We ate it, don't get me wrong - it just had a tough time living up to the excellence of the other two sliders on the plate. I ordered an old fashioned, which was uncharacteristically perfumed with cinnamon but it does clearly state that on the menu & it was a nice side note to such a traditional cocktail. Some at our table ordered another round & got a very different but more traditional version. It must depend on who's bartending. We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday evening & our party of 8 was seated right away. Service was solid, even as the night got busier. Prices are up there but standard for WC & the atmosphere warrants that. We finished the night trying our best to learn the line dances upstairs but let's be honest, achy breaky heart was the only one simple enough for our goofy group to really grasp. For me this is a 5 star. I don't eat meat but I heard the fish tacos were amazing! I had the Mac n cheese and it was decent... salt and pepper helps bring out the flavor it was a bit bland otherwise but I am excited to try a lot more food from here in the future. Service is semi slow even when it's totally empty but whatever. Water is self serve so that's easy u don't have to wait to get refills I like that. The staff is overall pretty nice. But my favorite of all about this place is the country dancing lessons! Ambiance is country rustic and fun and puts u in the mood to get down on that ho down. Or whatever they say. The lessons are free so it's not AMAZING amazing...but hey I have learned a few dances and it's def fun regardless! I look forward to going as often as I can as I always wanted to learnt he dances and get out there and have fun! Never returning Last Friday 2/27/26 my wife, male friend, and I (male) were drugged/roofied. Never experienced anything like that in my life and definitely had one drink or two. I can assure that my group and I went to sing karaoke and have a drink or two, but I cannot recall anything that happened. All I vividly remember is ordering one drink as a group and singing one karaoke song. Everyone within my group split up that night, it was a complete mess and is very unlike our behaviors as we were all not raised that way nor do I ever want to put my woman in danger. Filed a police report and cops did nothing. Said they would check in with the place and never heard back. I bugged them for days consecutively and haven't heard a word. I just wanted to see the footage because we would definitely find the suspect as it was not a crowded night. Supposedly from talking to the cops the day they did "try" and help they said that the establishments footage gets re-rolled/deleted after a couple days. Its Wednesday now 3/4/26 and we are all out of luck. Do not go here as it seems the establishment doesn't seem to care at all. Possibly could be the bartender and if not, as a bartender wouldn't you have a keen eye for that stuff. The bartenders serving that night were all women too btw. read more

They overcharge/are overpriced. All the reviews about being charged incorrectly are absolutely correct. I read the reviews that they charge for more drinks on credit cards, so I paid cash to avoid that issue. They charged me $17 for a well mezcal with soda and $11 for a well vodka with soda, and like an idiot, I still tipped. That's $28 for 2 well drinks before tip. I later found out other people were charged $7 for well drinks so IDK why I was selectively charged so much. I give them 1 star for the great line dancing instructors, but I'm never coming back here and I'm also telling anyone I know to go to avoid this place and go to Maverick's in Pleasanton instead. read more

Our visit to this place was disappointing. We were there to support a family member who was playing, and everything seemed fine until the bill arrived. Here's what went wrong: 1. We were overcharged for three drinks. 2. They processed the charge on our credit card without showing us the final bill. 3. When we tried to address the issue, they sent security over instead of resolving it. They listened and argued and just said that the management would call us back. 4. A few days later, they added an unauthorized $63 charge on top of the previous overcharge. The General Manager, Alyssa, was unhelpful and argumentative about the final bill. She had no interest solving the issue. They claimed the management wasn't available and promised to call us back the next day, but we never heard from them. But wasn't Alyssa part of the management? I strongly advise against keeping a tab open here--they seem to charge whatever they want without proper customer consent. It's hard to see how they stay in business with fraudulent charges. Or maybe just don't come here at all. read more

Super cute spot. Found this spot as I was looking for line dancing to celebrate my friend's birthday. Score! Live music in dining area. upper location had line dancing going. The lessons are from 9-10 pm. I believe on Thursdays - Saturdays. After that there is just free dance. It was so fun, but definitely need to actually take the lessons! That I missed. The food was good, server was cool. I took pics of my friends food. My fave. Dead on so good. Wings appetizer! Steak salad- taste good, nothing spectacular, onion rings- very pretty. It got crowded very quickly and it seemed that the only dancing that was going on was line dancing and only if you really knew what you were doing. It was very fun to watch but wish there was normal dancing as well. There is "type" of people that come here - and i guess maybe I did not dress the part. Then she proceeded to tell me that the Bloody Mary mix was out when I saw the lady before me order one with no problem. Arrived to find that the reservation was not respected and the venue had been switched to open, self-seating earlier in the evening. All tables full. Went to the bar to inquire about our res, bartenders ignored us, seemingly intentionally, despite standing at the bar to get their attention for quite a while, and they were busily chatting with their regulars and topping off their drinks and not serving others. Finally found a waitress who also told us that our teen kids would be required to leave in a few minutes since the place became 21 yo only at 8pm. Why were they open for reservations on OT? I was hear for a Yelp event, but it was a bit unorganized. Like other reviewers have said, it has nothing to do with the food and hopefully my next take out experience will be better. The staff does wear masks and there's a lot of hand sanitizer available in the restaurant. The food was pretty good. My favorites were the pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw and mac & cheese. We also got the Tchachoes (sp?) and ribs. It was more than enough for my husband and I to sample, but that didn't last long since our son ate it all in 15 minutes. There is plenty of outdoor seating available in front of the restaurant and off of the side street. However, I will stick with take out for now. Waitress drops them off begins to leave then turns and asks with this very sincere look a mistake had been made on her behalf, "oh I'm sorry do you need a straw?" WTH!!! Who uses a straw to drink a cocktail??? All these Walnut Creek "Karens" got this poor server scared for not dropping off or offering a straw... Another strange experience on this evening...what's up with the 1/2 real 1/2 disposable kitchenware? Lemon drop came in a martini glass and my mule came in a plastic cup, where's my copper mule cup?!? My burger came on a paper plate but the share plates were real ceramic plates. This COVID stuff really has people confused. All in all food was good. This place has some great strong drinks. I had their Cali Wild West and Cowboy punch girl (Both these drinks were boozy and flavorful). I tried the chicken and waffles, cod fried tacos, and buffalo chicken sandwiches. Love their fries, they are very crispy and tasty. Enjoyed a bit of dancing and a lone guitarist on a mic. Friendly attentive bartenders and a crowd dressed for a boot scoop boogie back in the 80s -country glam hair band? Hair, hair, everywhere! Manes and drapes, curled into ringlets framing, highlighted cheeks looked itchy, but those rhinestoned Daisy Dukes really knocked me off my horse! No one expected so much slapping and flapping of cheeks. It might've been the fans. There seemed to be an abundance of wind in this place. Thanks to a Yelp Elite event we tried this place during COVID-19 times. All interactions with customers were online then on-site in the outdoor patio. There were hand sanitizers on all patio tables. Service was friendly despite it being a very busy afternoon. We got there by 4pm for pick-up to ensure we made it back home in time for the Zoom event at 6pm. It definitely paid to be early! As part of the event, they featured two cocktails - Cali Wild West & Cowgirl Punch. Both used Rocket Vodka which is made with fermented then distilled vodka. It was great to meet the creators of Rocket Vodka & learn about this locally made vodka, too. Did you know that it takes 68 very ripe Fuji apples to make a bottle? Fun Fact! We ordered both drinks - 1, cali Wild West & 2- Cowgirl Punch. The Cali Wild West Rocket Vodka, had mint infused cane syrup, lime, ginger beer. The Cowgirl Punch had Rocket Vodka, lemon, black currant, basil, and Prosecco. Both were very refreshing. The flavors integrated well which made for a delicious cocktail. There was just the right amount of alcohol without overpowering the drink! During the event, Kelly a bartender demonstrated how to mix the drinks. A pro tip - slap not muddle the mint to release its flavor without cluttering the drink with bits of mint leaves We ordered three of the Yelp Combo food items: Pulled Pork Mac, Appetizer Ribs & Rock Cod Tacos. They were not your average Happy Hour portions! There must've been 2 cups of mac & cheese topped with about cup of pulled pork. The fish portions ran the length of the taco & seasoned well. There were 5 "fall of the bone" ribs with a tangy slaw. We plated them and it was more than enough for three people for dinner. The cocktails were the perfect pair for all of the food items! Is the food OK and they were like it's great. so we sat at the bar got immediate service from our wonderful bartender Alyssa who was responsive and did a great pour. happy hour included lots of options including 8 really delicious crispy tender chicken wings and a couple of amazing tacos. Also ordered the flat steak salad delicious. The drinks were on point, definitely try the Goodbye Earl.
