Unfortunately I did not have the great experience as other reviews. I asked if they had Rock Hills Farm bourbon and they confirmed they did. I ordered a glass. I had a glass of this in Ft Wright, KY @ Walts ($14) and Owensboro, KY @ Drakes ($22) - I did not ask for price as I figured it was going to be similar, especially in Frankfort, KY (Distilled here right). What a surprise when I got the bill and it was over $70 ($17 salad and $53 glass of Rock Hill). Bottle MSRP is about $70. The waiter never showed a price as it was not on menu. I talked with waiter about the price and he basically said, sorry I figured you knew. Salad was OK, glass of bourbon was excellent - but not $53 excellent. Make sure you verify price of anything not on menu. Very disappointed and feel price gouged. read more

We went during the evening for drinks. It was trivia night (Thursday) which gets loud inside, so we enjoyed escaping to the calm atmosphere of the outdoor patio. Guess I just had an off day. Everyone seems to rave about this place and the guide at BT recommended it. I had one of the weakest Old Fashioneds I've ever had. I was searching for the bourbon and wondered if they had just forgot to pour in the alcohol. Don't bother with the pretzel bites, you get those little balls they sell in plastic tubs at the grocery store. If you pay extra, you'll get a small side of cold pub cheese. Good luck dipping your balls in cold cheese. The Kentucky Hot Chicken had good flavor, but the chicken breast was absolutely awful. It was small, hard, and dry. On a bright side, they had a decent bourbon menu and I really liked their French fries. I'd go back just to give them another chance. Went back a couple weeks later. Completely different experience. Burger was very good and got a local craft beer instead of a mixed drink which was cold and delicious. Server was attentive and friendly. read more

enjoyed the food. came to try the bacon preserves on deviled eggs. it was excellent. they appeared to have a good bourbon list, but only available through QR code. since those are highly insecure & prone to tracking, it was a disappointment that they didn't have a paper list or other means. more disappointing was the service. after we got our food, the server disappeared for 20-30 min - we saw her walking across the street outside at one point. finally, a new server appeared & offered to cash us out. we accepted. her device didn't work & she had to take the card downstairs. I'll be watching my statement. could have been an excellent experience, but left with strong mixed feelings. read more

We came right at opening time on a Friday and were seated quickly. The only seating option was outdoor and since it was right on the river, bugs were a bit of an issue. Our server was friendly and helpful, and we have no complaints on that front. The menu was really small (basically burgers, chicken tenders and salad) nothing was bad, but we didn't feel the quality of the food was worth the price. The burger and fries was $15 and there wasn't really anything special about it. The chicken tenders were homemade I think, but very dry. We were disappointed based on the menu pricing. Very expensive for what amounted for a beer and burger joint. We went to Goodwood next door for a drink after and really wished we had gone there for lunch instead. read more

Our group of six came in for a quick bite before our bourbon distillery tour and Erika (I hope I'm spelling that right) and her assistant (I didn't catch her name before we left) were extremely accommodating with our schedule, she got us in and out on time and was great at recommending what to order so our experience was seamless and quick. With a group of our size it says a lot about this establishments team and we were extremely grateful for their understanding and graciousness. My "bucket list" included getting a mint julep in bluegrass country. I was in Frankfort to photograph the Capitol building at sunset, and not much was open. Yelp told me there was a bar called Bourbon On Main, so that sounded like a good place to get a mint julep. The place is brightly lit inside and inviting, more like a cafe than a bar. There is an amazing menu of varieties of bourbon; anything you might want to try is on the menu. There is also a decent casual food menu. They made me a superb julep, which I enjoyed while sitting at the window and looking at downtown Frankfort. If I was in town longer, I'd certainly return to sample their bourbon menu. I'd definitely recommend this place for casual dining or drinks. read more

We came here for a quick bite to eat after going to the distillery. We went on a Monday late afternoon so we were the only people there. They had a good selection of drinks which included beers, bourbon, and cocktails! They had some great decor as well. The staff was very nice and made sure that we had everything we needed. In fact, I don't think most places are as attentive. The table ordered chorizo quesadillas and the beer cheese dip as a quick appetizer! I thought the pretzel with cheese was great. The group liked the quesadilla with French fries as well. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend it to others that want a quick bite to eat and/or a place with good variety of drinks. read more

Had looked forward to dining at Bourbon on Main based on Yelp reviews and advertising in Kentucky tourism publications. The building is quaint and the service was super friendly; however, the food was disappointing. Thankfully, I didn't order the French fries as the side dish selection to go with my sandwich. My friend did and they were a pile of undercooked, dark-colored potatoes...didn't look appetizing at all and were not good. I selected cheesy grits as my side and they were tasty but were a $4 upcharge. I live on the West Coast where grits are hard to come by so I paid the money but it was a pricey upcharge for grits. The restaurant is a nice place to grab a drink and watch the Kentucky River roll by but I wouldn't order a full meal. read more

The cutest little gem for dinner! Sit outside, with a view of the river. Our server Nikki was amazing, attentive, super nice and friendly. Everyone was so gracious which gives this place a such a welcoming vibe. We had the cheese and tots which was delicious, the hot chicken sandwich which had a sweet kick, I had the salad with goat cheese, mandarin oranges, craisins and pecans and it was so good and exactly what I wanted. I ordered the Thai Pork Bowl which was amazing and had a ton of flavor but I wish they would have taken the whole chili peppers out because I accidentally bit right into one and my mouth was on fire! My wife, a friend and I came in because the bride of the wedding we're in town for suggested it. First off, Jamar was super friendly and suggested some great starters. One being their poutine. I can't say no to fries gravy and cheese. It was Dee-Licious! The Buffalo chicken dip was also great. We did a flight of Bourbons to start and moved into the Entrees. If you're looking for a chill place to get some good eats, excellent drink selection (ALL THE BOURBON) and friendly faces, look no further. We'll see how long we stay tonight. The food her was tasty. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. One could feel comfortable coming here on a date night or a casual lunch.

We were in Frankfort to visit Buffalo Trace (honestly, is there any other reason?), and we missed lunch while catching 3 tours at BT. The wife suggested this place, and I'll admit I wasn't too excited. But I'm really glad we came. We arrived and were immediately seated upstairs. Food: Really good! The menu isn't extensive, but we enjoyed what we had. The deviled eggs are pure crack cocaine. I could have eaten 3 trays of them. The bacon relish is just ridiculous. The wife had the BOM bites, and they were good, as were the dipping sauces. The ketchup was house made or dressed. I had hints of clove and or curry in it: fantastic. The fries were hot, well-seasoned and delicious. I had the house burger, which was top 5 burgers I've ever had. I highly recommend it. Drinks: They have a lot of bourbon, as they'll tell you in their prepared intro. I settled for a cheap one, but they have some rare stuff at not-terrible prices. I wished I tried the blueberry drink, but we kept it simple. Service: we came in between lunch and dinner on a rainy Monday, so things were slow. They do service by committee, which I'm not a huge fan of (see below). We had two servers give us the same speech about their beverage and food menu (blueberry martini, getting it with bourbon; made from scratch; etc.) right after we sat down. I felt like the Bunty Soap truck driver from Super Troopers getting hit with "The Repeater". A third server brought the food and checked on us. Because of "service by committee", it was hard to find someone when we needed something (more napkins, refills, etc). As such, we ended up waiting an inordinately long time for service at times, because only one server was working upstairs at any given moment, though there were 3 servers who attended us in the time we were there. When we had arrived, we were the only ones being served upstairs. By the time we left, there were 3 more couples eating upstairs, yet only one person serving. I didn't see much, if any seating downstairs, so I don't know what happened to the other 2 servers. Needless to say, the quirky and occasionally slow service prevents this from being a 5-star review. If we went on food alone, this would have been there. I imagine it's hard to find servers these days, since many of the ones with experience have gone into greener pastures. And, being a very small "city", has to make things even tougher. Add to that it being a rainy Monday, we probably didn't get their best presentation. I'm sure if I lived in/near Frankfort (not sure why anyone would, or would want to), I'd be a regular at Bourbon On Main. If you're in town for any reason, I would absolutely recommend BOM for a lunch visit, or just a healthy pour of bourbon. read more

Friendly staff. A lot of fun. Strongly recommend this place. It is a bit of a neighborhood feel,which I like, but don't let that put you off. Tonia was our awesome and personable waitress for this fun and engaging local experience. Highly recommend the salty, sweet deviled eggs with bacon. Everything we ordered was delicious from beginning to end. If the bartender offers to "smoke" your old fashioned or Manhattan cocktail, take them up on it. You won't regret it. Everyone was so attentive and accommodating to our one party member with food allergies. He had no worries and enjoyed every bite of his meal.. The only problem was the wifi router was acting up and our credit card was having trouble going through. The GM Jamie handled it like a pro and we ended our experience on a high note.
