My friend got one of their sandwiches and I got the fish and chips. The fish was lightly battered, with just the right amount of crispiness! The fish also had a ... "fish" tasty to it :P Which some people hate, but I'm fine with because it is fish after all, it'd be awkward if it tasted like mushrooms or something :P The fries were also amazing, and I love how they include a free salad for the fish and chips! Also, both the fish and fries were not greasy which was a big and wonderful surprise, because after a big meal like that, I didn't even feel guilty! :) Delmar is quite large, and it is very clean and tidy. It opened in the 1950s and although it has a nice 50s vibe, it doesn't feel "old". The one and only reason why I gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their menu. They offer all-day-breakfast which is nice, and a regular lunch/dinner menu. Their menu is not "small" but limited. For example, they offer 10+ types of sandwiches, but no hot dogs. They offer 7-8 types of omelettes but no skillets. They offer lots of varieties for 1 item, but they're not diverse when it comes to other classic diner and breakfast foods. They also have a small dessert and beverage menu. Overall though, I enjoyed my visit very much and my friend even gives this place a 5/5! So check out Delmar if you're driving by :)

So the most disappointing part about moving to London has been the lack of a really great burger place. Some folks like another location downtown, though I felt it was not at all what you are made to expect. What is weird is I easily think South St. Burger is the best burger joint in the city... and it's a chain. So yeah call me a bad burger aficionado or whatever, but trust me - I'm from ranching country and know a good burger. This is the best I have seen so far. Admittedly the indoors are cool (though of course not something you can really enjoy during the pandemic). The staff were a low light to be honest. The manager seems to under support their team, and you will often find the person that is doing the till also making the food. This makes things slow... and possibly unhygienic (though thats beyond my own abilities to understand). They also tried to upsell us on several add-ons, and presented them as free options. That was pretty disingenuous. The food itself was pretty solid. The patty not overcooked nor drowned in sauce (cough cough... I see you other 'better' burger joint in London... cough). The buns were nice, with just the right amount of fresh-crisp! We got fries to share each time, because they are larger at least for us, and they were relatively solid, if nothing to write home about. Honestly, this place is not that much more expensive than a burger dinner for two at McDonalds, and is easily a better option. And McDonalds is not the best comparison for quality, because again, the local burger shack downtown doesn't hold a candle to what we had here. It's kind of just worth mentioning - don't move here if you love burgers. You'll be sad. Very sad.

The service stood out to me because we only ordered one entree, and the waitress recognized that we would likely be sharing, and brought it out to us already split up on two separate plates.
