Came here expecting great things based on the reviews, I took everyone's advice and got the signature burger everyone was raving about with Mac and cheese, bacon and bbq sauce on it! Turned out, it's not one beef patty , it's two less than 1/4 pound Pattie's so they do t have to ask you how you want it cooked and so they cook fast. Only problem is it still took 30 minutes to get our simple order out, my salad came out with the entree, the bacon was 90% fat and grissle, and the two burgers were burnt to a crisp, more carbon than meat. New place in my hometown. Full bar of craft beers and lots of bourbon. Nice menu of upscale burgers, hot dogs, salads, and apps. We tried the chips and queso for our appetizer. My husband had the guacamole burger with fries and I tried the mild cauliflower wings. My husband said the burger was very good. The wings were very spicy for mild. My daughter finished those and I tried her French onion soup. The soup was different than any others I've tried as it had mac and cheese in it. We finished with a freshly baked s'mores cookie. Wow!!! I might say that a lot but I don't give 5 stars often!!! Service Menu Ambiance Beers We visited on a Friday at lunch. There were a few seats at table and the bar was completely open. Our server asked us where we preferred to sit. Once we had our drinks she was briefly thorough about the menu. I had a broasted chicken sandwich and my MIl had a burger. They were outstanding. OK, so, on what might be the last beautiful weather day of the year... I went for a bike ride along the great Miami river trail and worked up quite an appetite! Not being from this area, I needed some yup! I explored the restaurants in the area and the number one rated was Bourbons kitchen. I checked out their menu and found lots of great options! I ended up selecting the fish tacos And the bonus chicken wings. Well I waited for my order, I asked the bartender to make a recommendation on some bourbon/Rye. He asked me what I liked and I told him that I was drinking bullet rye and he recommended basil Aidans so I excepted the challenge and asked for 1 ounce. I had some questions about this tincture and the bartender was more than willing to oblige. I really enjoyed my experience, short as it was, sitting at the bar. I will most certainly be back! Now let's talk about the food! The Boneless chicken wings would've been better if I didn't order them to go. The to go order had the sauce on the side. I'd go back and dine in next time. This is legitimately the best restaurant in Middletown. The food is absolutely delicious, they offer beers that I haven't found at other places, and the staff has always been friendly. I have gone multiple times with a large group for birthdays, and just a friend or two at others. Always had the same excellent service and food. My daughter and I had lunch here yesterday. I'm glad my daughter suggested this place since we find it difficult to find good food when I visit with her in Middletown. It's a small place that is more bar than restaurant. Their menu is more interesting than the standard bar food. We ordered the salsa and chips appetizer since we were both starving. Although, after our meal came I realized we'd never finish the salsa and chips. The salsa was good. It doesn't have any heat, though. My daughter ordered the Chicken Tenders platter. You pick your sauce and she picked the Grippos Encrusted. It comes with fries and coleslaw. I ordered the Gyro Tacos that comes with Mexican Broccoli slaw. We both thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. The Mexican Broccoli slaw is unique and quite tasty. My daughter has been here before and said that the "Dynamite Shrimp and the Cauliflower Wings appetizers are amazing." I saw that they also have an extensive bourbon and whiskey list and a list of interesting sounding cocktails. I'll definitely have to stop in some evening for another meal and some cocktails. If I was to change anything, I'd ask for something spicy to put on my burger. The fries are really good too. They have a LOT of beer to try. Really good burgers here from my experience so far. The Bernie Mac, featuring BBQ sauce, bacon, and of course, mac & cheese, is especially tasty. The prices aren't cheap, but if you're determined to get a really good burger, far above your typical drive-thru window experience, then it's easier to justify the expense here. We weren't thrilled with the cauliflower wings, which seemed only partially breaded, and the chicken & waffles got mixed reviews from our group, so your results may vary when you stray from the burger side of the menu. The truffle gouda burger was the best burger I have ever eaten. The bartenders were amazing. They recommended drinks and food. My specialty drink was awesome too and I'm really hard to please. We were headed back home to KY after dropping my son off at Wright State Lake for his first year of college. Got the chicken and waffles and the Grippos burger they were both really good. The waffle had some sort of crystallized sugar surprise every few bites, delicious. The grippos burger had a slaw on it when combined with crumbled bbq grippos made a tasty concoction. Had a side of sweet potato waffle fries that were great too. Very impressed and I will definitely be back. Have been back several times and this place is straight dope.
