I went to see these amazing people yesterday to get a new backing for my cartilage piercing that unfortunately fell off. I came in and spoke with the amazing staff and explained my situation. Fortunately for me they had the exact backing I needed. Unfortunately, when I took my piercing out to have it sized, my hole closed up as if I never had it pierced. My husband and I had been a loyal customers for over 15 years, but after my experience today I will no longer give them my business. I had overlooked them ruining my wedding and anniversary bands by polishing out the details (they did send them back to the designer to have them redone). I also overlooked their misogynistic behavior during their ladies night. Apparently their sales staff does not recognize that women can buy their own jewelry and take advantage of the event's sale and do not need to create a wish list for their spouses. Their customer service and selection of jewelry had declined dramatically with the new ownership. They no longer greet their customers in a friendly manner and make you feel as if your presence is a burden on their time. Today when I told the woman I was looking for earrings, the sales associate replied in a very rude tone "you have to be more specific than that". Isn't that the purpose of shopping? I alway shop local and support my community, however I will no longer step foot in Bove and will take my business elsewhere where the care for their customers and community is greater. read more

I changed the battery in my watch, but couldn't get the rear cover back on. Turns out, there's a tool for that. I took the watch to Bove hoping they could pop the cover back on for me. They did so, but charged me the full amount for a battery change (as if I bought the battery from them). I was prepared to pay $5, even $10 for the assist. The bill was $19! Disappointed. read more

Incident Update: The general manager did contact me and sincerely apologized for my experience with my broken watch and explained that they would like to attempt to resolve the issue. He also relayed that the salesperson in question had been reprimanded in regard to her handling of the watch. As I had already taken it to another jeweler (a year ago) who replaced the battery and the glass front, there wasn't a need for them to remedy it, however, they did offer to reimburse me my expenses. Since so much time had passed, I didn't feel that was necessary so didn't accept the offer. But, do appreciate the offer. However, I do feel that the manager was extremely sorry for the incident and assured me nothing like that would happen again. I am appreciative that they finally addressed the event, apologized and at least offered to rectify the situation. Based on our recent conversations, I am updating my review and no longer feel that their lack of response is so egregious. I believe they may now also be under new ownership since my initial experience. read more

Two stars because Claire was so fantastic. It's a shame that she has to work for such a slimy creep like Bob who has become George's new store manager. He was so rude to my mother that I almost insisted we leave. We are long time customers, and Bob was rude until he looked up our account to take my mom's watches in for new batteries. Then all of a sudden the obnoxious snobbery changed into butt kissing. No one was purchasing anything while we were there and the selection of engagement rings was rather low. I've heard from other people that Bob the manager was a former Ringling circus employee. It would make perfect sense because he was such a clown. Completely ruined the shopping experience. I wouldn't recommend coming here anymore. I would have in the past, and Claire was truly fantastic, but Bob made my stomach turn. read more

My father sold some of my mother's gorgeous jewelry there a few years ago. My father did not know the high value of her pieces and when we realized the low price he had been paid, we went to get the jewelry back. Bob did not have the pieces even entered into his inventory which seemed a bit shady. We did find a few pieces that my dad had been given pennies on the dollar. I do not feel this business was honest with my elderly father and took advantage of his lack of knowledge. My father received $10,000 for items worth over $100,000. Disappointed that they evidently don't honor the hours that they publish. I arrived 5 minutes before close to find the doors locked with the employees inside looking at me. When I called to ask about it the employee told me they close 15 minutes before posted time for insurance purposes. They should publish the actual closing time! I was very inconvenienced. read more
