Please let's stop talking and judging our black owned business when you give bad reviews and talk bad we destroying one another, Also we are stopping her or any black own business income and families sheand they are feeding with jobs and support without customers and business places like this won't survive....I give Dancemakers 5 stars and Seesaw couture as well Stay Blessed Always Think Positively

My daughter's regular teacher was great but she got a substitute one day and she was absolutely horrible with the little ones. Someone stole my 3 year old daughter's tap shoes while she was in class and I had to buy another pair instead of the school accepting responsibility for it. The end of year dance recital is rip-off. 100 for a costume, 80 for a participation fee, 25-30 per ticket, and they tell parents about this 2 weeks before the recital. Let my daughter stay in for the entire class year but next year she went elsewhere

Goodness they try hard to put a good show on in this theater. Each season is something new, with…read moreholiday themed shows for Halloween and Christmas. Theater seats probably seats 300+ people, so it's pretty intimate. It's the folding seats like in a movie theater. There's a full stage lighting but the sound system is really subpar (or maybe the sound techs are bad?). It's crippled several of the shows I've been to, though. Mics cutting in and out, some cast members' mics are too loud while others are ineffective. In multiple shows from 2015-2018. Sometimes it seems like someone is trying to make up for the cruddy sound quality by turning the volume up. *face palm* That's now how that works, people! Production Quality: OI've seen 6 different productions here in the last 3 years, and half were truly decent: a magic show where a middle aged magician did all the standard tricks with enough gusto to entertain the crowd, a summer show with lots of audience participation and bubbles and beach balls and lasers (!), and lastly the surprising late-night Christmas show we just saw (2018) where they told the story of Jesus' birth from the Bible. It was a simple nativity scene with Christmas carols (Six Flags America really leaned into the Christian Christmas theme this year vs last year's more secular stuff). It was low budget, and the mics cut out lot, but it was heartfelt and familiar. I was surprised to see a religious show at Six Flags, but it was the last show off the day (8:45pm) and the name made it obvious that it was religious ("Behold, the Messiah"), so no surprise proselytizing. Overall, I hope management invests in a better sound system here. Or a sound tech. Or just figure out what needs fixing and fix it, because the poor performers are putting themselves out there in usually-cheesy family friendly shows, and they can't be happy with the dicey sound either. Otherwise people are going to mostly visit here to escape bad weather (heat in the summer and cold in the winter).

Bowie State University is a gem of a school right in the heart of Prince George's County. If you…read moreare considering college, pay them a visit to see it for yourself. I have come to events on campus many times over the years, but my most recent visit was eye-catching. Significant resources have been poured into the campus as new buildings and grand refurbishments and renovations continue apace. This should be the norm for all HBCUs around the country. It is a testament to the value the state places on its universities, although the level of investment pales in comparison to College Park. The quad is the envy of other schools, some with higher endowments, tuitions, and budgets. It is big enough that it feels like a university but still small enough to feel like home. My favorite feature/building/concept is the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community (ELLC). Home to students who want to be entrepreneurs, here they live (brand new dorms), eat, and learn (classrooms and other spaces). There is a business and creative synergy that is self evident all throughout the space. I took a cohort of school age mentees for a tour and lunch at BSU. They were over-the-moon about the Student Center Dining Hall's food and modern decor. The food choices included fresh vegetables and fruits, custom made salads and bowls, hand crafted pizza, grilled to order items, and high quality rotating items from a self-serve bar. The seating area had huge windows where the sunlight shone through. The academic and recreational buildings were top tier. But what struck me most was the energy, passion, and intelligence of the students and faculty. They treated my mentees like little brothers coming to campus to learn from older siblings. The students seemed supportive of each other. D9 organizations got along too., but the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. always raise the bar. Bowie State University should be proud of the work they continue to do and the student needs they continue to meet. Five stars easily earned!
