Lucky me, a friend who works for WKYS (93.9 FM) scored a couple of tickets to the....Mary J Blige / Lalah Hathaway Concert and treated us to the show. And, wow!...All I can say is...that it was an incredible show and perfect mid-week treat indeed. This venue was the perfect setting for completly two different artist and shows all rolled into one. Once inside the theater, it is clear to me there is not one bad seat in the house. The design of the venue offered the best views of both performers from all angles, based on where we were seated. THE PERFECT SEAT The intimacy of this venue is what make it special. This is what helps this theater set itself apart from other venues. The layout of the seating gave us the perfect view to the performers. The seating and floor plan range from floor seating, mid-tier level, VIP seating boxes and balcony view seating. Personally speaking the mid-tier (Orchestra) level seating is the best seating in the house! The view was incredible from all angles, without being cramped by floor seating crowd and/or feeling too far away in the upper-tier/balcony seating. Part of our group that went to this concert was sitting in the balcony. During the intermission, I had a chance to see their seating and the angle/view was good....but not the best. THE SUITE LIFE Instead of the regular seating, you can step it up to the VIP suites. The Theater at MGM National Harbor houses seven VIP suites where guests can enjoy the view from private boxes and can have access to an private entrance, VIP-only full-service bar and catering offerings. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to experience it myself...lol....but I am sure it will allow for the complete experience and convenience of food/drink runs during a show. TO SUM IT ALL UP In all, I was impress with "The Theater!" From the show experience to theater's design is all-inclusive. The lightning and acoustics was perfect too. The layout wraps you around the main focal point...which is the artist. The sightlines from where I was sitting...to walking the floor...to hanging with friends in the balcony were equally all good in my book. I definitely will be checking out more events at this venue! TIPS 1) The mid-tier (Orchestra Seating) - Section 103 are the best seats in the house! You can see everything from this section and worth every penny. Trust me, you'll thank me later! 2) The lines for the bar can get very long on the main level. Go to the bar on the balcony level...there was little to no lines or long waits. 3) Make it a dinner-show thang. Before and after the event, the food courts and restaurants were still open which was make it perfect enjoy your night and the complete experience all in on place...and not have to go anywhere else for eats or drinks.

I have been to Colonial Players several times & it has not disappointed. it's a small cozy welcoming theatre of local enthusiasts who love the theatre & they do such a fabulous job every time. Ticket prices are very reasonable & some discounts are offered such as senior & military. Also, Colonial Players now offers Seat FlexTickets for Adults for $22.00 per seat ($110.00 total) and for Seniors, Students, and Active Military for $18.00 per seat ($90.00) total. They are transferable .... How cool is that? Parking can be a challenge so be sure to arrive with plenty of time before the start of the plays to allow time to get your ticket and get comfortable. However, the line to get in was wayyy too long and moved wayyy too slow. All that police presence and metal detectors did not yield enough speed nor efficiency. Too many misguided youth repeatedly tried to punk us with the line hopping butttt, they met the right Auntie today. One "bruh" had the audacity to TRY to scream on us, "What are you mad for, we're all gonna get in." I said, "Yeah, but we've been waiting for over an hour and how dare you think you're gonna get in BEFORE us. You better go to the back of the line and wait, like we did." VERY LITTLE to brag about once we finally got in. Inflation has taken the fun outta everything. $5-$7 entrance fee, $10 for 3 darts, $10 per ride ... utterly ridiculous. The Sankofa Mobile Museum was amazing ... guaranteed not enough people experienced it. The live band was AMAZING (the singing not so much) but most def two thumbs up for the band. I only saw 2-3 vendors that were NOT peddling home repairs, gutters, windows, roofs. *Sigh* The wine and beer bar was a welcome addition (although the $9 kiddie cup of Sauvignon Blanc I had was disgusting.) The petting zoo was a joke. Besides the 2 ginormous rabbits and the adorable baby goats, there was only one baby camel, one baby kangaroo, and one pig. Besides the prices, I have no other complaints about the food. It was typical carnival food and we appreciated that. Not sure why they would have food trucks there ... funnel cakes, corn dogs, turkey legs, hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream, fries, fries and more fries and HUGE lemonades are the BEST! Woke up to a flood of posts and reels about the chaos that ensued after we left. Not surprised. I knew we left at the right time. We came, we saw, we conquered and we declare, PGC Fair ain't gotta worry about us ever again.
