I had Sandwich Man on my list of places to try for a couple of months. I can't remember where I first saw the recommendation, but I'm glad I finally showed up. I don't usually drive through this part of the Valley, so I didn't know how popular it was, but I think I read somewhere it's been around since the 70s, which makes sense once you try the food. I ordered the Mile High Pastrami, and WOW! The pastrami was sliced a little thicker than most places, but it turned out to be perfect. It was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The coleslaw had a cool crunch and an amazing taste that was extra good, giving a tangy kick without overpowering. The Swiss cheese melted in perfect, and the toasted sourdough held everything together without being soggy or overdone. Just a really great sandwich! The fries came out hot and crisp, and the pickle spear was a great classic addition. Service was another highlight. The girl behind the counter was super helpful, friendly, and sweet. I tried the pastrami dip sandwich , it was alright. I would rate this place 2.5/5. I probably wouldn't come back to try other sandwiches as it didn't impress me. The pastrami was a bit hard to eat bc the meat was tough and chewy that I couldn't finish it, but the cheese they used was good. The dip wasn't that good either. We ordered this for delivery. It was delivered quick - about 20minutes. Portions were big and the flavors were on point. Huge Cobb Salad with Blue Cheese dressing had good portions of everything and mixed together wonderfully. Philly cheese steak was cooked perfectly with nice slices of meat. Sandwich Man has been a beloved part of the San Fernando Valley since 1977, and it's easy to see why. I visited for the very first time and was pleasantly surprised to find a cozy indoor dining area, which turned out to be the perfect spot to catch up with a friend. I ordered the Mile High Pastrami sandwich, and I loved that you can choose your bread. I went with sourdough, but the staff mentioned that most people prefer it on rye. The sandwich comes with a choice of potato salad or coleslaw--I chose the coleslaw, and it was absolutely delicious. To my delight, it also came with a pickle, which, in my opinion, makes every meal better. My friend ordered the Italian Club sandwich, which looked just as amazing, and added a side of chips to round it out. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, patiently walking us through the menu and offering helpful suggestions. Their kindness and attention made the experience even more enjoyable. What a quant little spot! Located on the corner of Mason and nordhoff service is great! It's a small joint but food is fresh and delicious it's open for breakfast. No frills just plain good home foods Dad and I had a little date and we shared French toast, omelette and egg and bacon plate comes with potatoes and your choice of buttered toast. Been living near this spot for years and decided to finally give it a try! Customer service was excellent, I was undecided on which sandwich I wanted to try and the cashier helped me decide. Big portions, will definitely come back to try some of the other sandwiches on the menu! I did takeout, but the inside of the restaurant had plenty of seating and was very clean. read more

Walking in, we were immediately met with friendly workers and great costumer service. We ordered to go and the food was brought to us relatively quickly as well. Sandwich man, sandwich man, can you make me a good sandwich? Yes you can! I haven't been able to find a really good sandwich place since I was a young girl, that isn't a chain you know. There used to be a spot called the Belly Deli in Inglewood, CA. It's not there anymore, been long gone but on Saturday nights my dad would pick sandwiches for the family with fries and they were always good. Never missed. Then there was King's Deli in Gardena and they were always good as well but I live in the valley. Well I think I found my new sandwich spot. I ordered a Mile High Pastrami sandwich, it was $18 and some change. I asked the guy who took my order if he could cut the sandwich in half and wrap it and put it in one bag or two separate bags if he had small bags because I wanted to share with my son. He obliged. I chatted with him for a minute while they made my sandwich, about how nice and clean his place was and he told me the place had been in business since 1977. He told me to be honest if I don't like the sandwich but I told him I had a good feeling I was going to like it but I am always honest. So, I take my bag and go to the car and I smell fries so I open the bag and found that he cut the sandwiches in half and gave me two separate containers both with fries! And when I say the fries were so good, perfectly cooked and perfectly salted the way I like them - I was happy I tried this place. Now to the sandwich. It comes with delicious pastrami, coleslaw on toasted bread and when I tell you that first bite took me back to Inglewood and the Belly Deli - please believe it. I actually saw a pic of the sandwich we used to get and I am going back to get it because I ate the whole half and all my fries! And basically I got a meal for two under $20. Love this place. Great sandwich options, get the fries they are really good. Have had burgers and pastrami sandwiches and especially the pastrami is really good. If you sit inside the nice younger woman will refill your drink and provides excellent service, so tip well when you place your order. I'll always stop by here for lunch when in the area. My blushing bride has been talking about Sandwich Man for a long time, especially commenting on how popular this place is. So we were excited to try it. My blushing bride ordered takeout and brought it home to me. A really good menu and friendly staff, she said. The sandwiches looked and tasted very fresh. It's quite apparent that Sandwich Man is a highly skilled sandwich craftsman. The meat seemed freshly sliced and the vegetables were fresh. So why am I not so enthused, you may ask. Well, I guess I expected more. Mind you, it was an acceptable sandwich, but not exceptional. The meat, bread and cole slaw, especially, is exactly like what we buy at Albertsons. The order was ready in few mins. Decent size, good looking and presentation was great. The sandwich was very bland. Not tasty at all. This is the one your dad would do not knowing how. The coleslaw was good - fresh, and moderately sweet. When I finished the first half of the sandwich the second got soaked. The temperature inside was 80 degrees according to the AC controller and it felt rather uncomfortable on a hot day. And they charge me $19 for a medium size bland sandwich and medium size decent coleslaw. The biggest and best chicken tostada you will find anywhere! Baja salad is great with all the colored tortilla chips. Tuna roll, French toast, beef dip, Rueben, Pastrami, Denver omelette, All delicious meals I have had here that were great. Oh yeah, Hamburger with mushrooms, swiss cheese, bacon and tomato with crispy fries! I love this place! Carlos has worked hard to keep this place going with great tasting food. I have been coming here for 20 years and have never had a bad meal. Places like this that have fresh cooked food are hard to come by. I hope God blesses this restaurant with more business. Between a truck smashing into his building causing him to close for almost a year, then the pandemic, then a lot of local businesses closing he has kept working hard with his employees to keep the doors open. Parking: 5 stars for me cause it's across the street from me. But they have a parking lot located in the back as well as street parking. Cleanliness: I have been coming here for 5 years now, and haven't had any issues with to go or eating there. You have the liberty to either eat there, plenty of seating inside, or you can call in and pick up to go. I suggest call ahead, it gets busy during lunch time.
