I finally tried the pad Thai and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with the flavors that came out of this dish. There is the unique pad Thai tamarind sauce flavor, but no fish sauce aftertaste. Sometimes I taste that more than the sweet and tangy tamarind. I also got mine spicy, it was only slightly spicy. (I like samyang buldak level spice.) The pineapple fried rice was pretty good too, it had a present and sweet char from the wok. The shrimp was huge. I will be back to try more spicy noodles! read more

Really good service! The young man at the counter was excellent in all ways. Very polite, attentive and courteous! Ordered a Coke (was offered a cup of ice, which I said yes to!) Also ordered the Katsudon ( a dish I love, and make occasionally) and also the veggie spring rolls. Spring rolls were very good, and very hot. lol. The dipping sauce was was like a very watered down plum sauce - consistency was basically water... did not stick to the spring rolls like a thicker sauce would. Not much flavor either. Katsudon - ultra crispy on the outside, with a layer of mushy batter under the crisp layer (which tells me these were probably cooked from frozen). Not much flavor... meat was not salted or marinated, and crust was not spiced or salted. It was ok... but I love Katsu, and have had much better. Lettuce in the bowl was fresh and tasty. Rice was good too! The accompanying plum sauce was also watered down... and the spiced mayo was ok. It made the Katsu more enjoyable. Only two tables (seat 4 per) inside, and two 2 seat tables outside. I suspect they do a LOT of takeout. I do want to come back and try their ramen... saw some delivered to another table, and it looked good. Worth trying. So about three stars for the food... and an extra star for the great service! read more

This place is the real deal! The food is delicious and extremely fresh. The takoyaki is mouthwatering. The dumplings (I prefer the chicken) have fresh ginger in them. We love the bowls too. It's been a while trying, so decided to just get apps; I was underwhelmed. Nothing was great. The spring rolls were very greasy, no flavor and the orange sauce it comes with was too thick/not good. The dumpling soup was just ok, 2 pieces of broccoli with about 4 soggy pork dumplings in a "dirty broth" for $7.50 wasn't memorable and can be made better at home. The chicken karrage came in small bite size pieces was also VERY greasy and overpriced for $9. Next time, I know to try sticking with the bowls as you get more for your money, with less grease dripping from my fingers and lips. read more

A nice change from Chinese food if you ask me. Went here for first time today 0 Sat. March 15 '25 . Ordered pineapple fried rice and beef sticks. LOVED IT. The rice easiliy serves 3 (or 2 super size portions). The beef sticks easily serve 2 (or 3 smaller portions). Service was excellent. This is down home, small business style place. You don't pay for fancy upkeep. Just fine with me as it helps keep the prices lower. I will DEFINITELY be making this a regular dinner stop. Great job you guys . It is about 4.5 stars. Bowl bar food has good value on the money paid. I like it simple and early preparation of the ingredients. The restaurant doesn't have much seating place. So to order is a good choice. Today we got the Korean beef bibimbap. This dish has kimchi, spinach, bean sprouts and more. I like the sweet marinated beef. The second dish is the hell's ramen. It is a spicy noodles dish. The dish has good looking charshu pork, crab stick, half broiled egg, fish cake, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts. The soup is ok spicy. I think they can work on the half broil egg better. The charshu is delicious. Good broth too. Our last dish is a appetizer, the takoyaki. Good piece of octopus can be found inside the ball. They have 2 tables inside and 2 tables outside for dining. Hubs and I came in for lunch today as soon as they opened at noon. I ordered the mango green tea and Japanese Donburi with chicken. Hubs got the beef bibimbap and soup dumplings. We decided to sit outside since a nice day out. Food came out quick and was hot and fresh. I absolutely loved the Japanese Donburi. This is our go-to takeout spot, so much so that we have been neglecting trying new restaurants. Things I've tried that have been excellent: takoyaki, vegetable spring rolls, porky bun, Thai fried noodle, pad Thai, cheesy noodle on fire (get it with braised pork), donburi, Thai pjneapple fried rice. Things I've tried that have been anything less than excellent: 404 error file not found Honestly, the menu is made up of strictly bangers, though it's far from health food and they are generous with the grease, salt, and probably MSG. Great quality food for a reasonable price , the last order came with a plate of free donuts for dessert. mango and lychee boba are both refreshing and came with bits of real fruit. My husband and I ordered some food last minute tonight because we had a long day and wanted something different. I was already out so I ordered online and it was ready within 10 min. Which was a great way to start! Now for the food- We ordered soup dumplings, chicken pad Thai and cheesy spicy noodles with chicken. And just WOW! The spicy noodles were AMAZING, exactly what you would want from that kind of dish. The pad Thai was great as well!! This is a another hidden gem in Carrollwood! Bowl bar is a small restaurant with a culmination of different aspects of Asian cuisine. They don't just stick to one country, there are some Thai, Japanese, & Korean dishes. This is probably my favorite fast food style Asian restaurant right now. We know taste is subjective, but I've loved everything I've tried so far. You can order online or in person, and the food is usually prepped within 15 minutes. Depending on what you order, you have your choice of proteins like chicken, beef, and shrimp. Thus far, my personal favorite is the beef upon bowl. It cones with a savory slightly more salty sauce, a mox of veggies, beef, and upon noodles. I'm also a bog fan of the soup dumplings. The place is about 15 mi it's from me, which is perfect for ordering online and making a run there to pick it up. Service is good, and they have lunch specials and coupons running too, so that's a plus. The menu is pretty extensive with fried noodles, ramen, rice bowls, desserts, boba tea, and a bunch of appetizers. Personally, I'd recommend them if you get a chance to try it out. Highly recommended for great ramen and soup dumplings, less expensive compared to most other places. The Tonkotsu ramen has a good flavor broth and large delicous pieces of pork belly meat. The Black garlic miso ramen was also good but I thought the broth was bit too salty. The ramen noodle they use is slightly firm (al dente). Price is only $11 per dish, compared to $15 at other places for same ramen dishes. The Soup dumplings are great and of the 3 appetizers we tried this was the best one by far. It's hard to find places that sell this in tampa area and I'm glad they offer it here. The Shumai (fried) had too much shrimp, not enough pork to balance the flavor and was not as good as the soup dumplings. The chicken Karraage was ok, it was crunchy. This restaurant is in a small space therefore less cost for space and less employees, so they can keep prices lower than most other places that sell the similar food. They have 2 interior tables and 2 outdoor tables on the sidewalk. Business was pretty brisk and steady on a Saturday night with most people getting takeout, the wait was only about 10-15 minutes for each dish to come out for us after placing the order. We didn't try any of the rice dishes but they do offer a grand opening special discount for a rice dish for $4.99 (about half off) when you buy a noodle soup, this special runs through May. Located in Publix plaza on the very far end towards Gunn Hwy and next to Subway. We had a 10 minute wait for our orders so we sat outside at one of the 3 tables. We were served with care and attention. Bowl Bar locates in a Plaza at the southwest corner of Gunn Highway and Anderson Drive. Its restaurant front is facing Gunn Highway. We had Takoyaki appetizer. They were impressively good- 5 good size brown skin ball with soft feeling inside and bits of octopus. The sweet sauce on top and the dry Bonito flakes made this snack extra delicious. I had beef bibimbap bowl. This bowl got a lot of goody in there- fry egg, white rice, bean sprout, Bok choy, kimchi, Korean spicy paste and the delicious beef pieces. It was a yummy dish. The hell's Ramen with chashu pork belly was good. Even though the broth didn't come as spicy as we expected, I asked for a jar of spicy chili sauce, then scooped every bit of it into the bowl. It increased the heat. All the ingredients of the ramen were good. The whole soft egg was authentic, loved the taste. Wow, we really love this place!! We've eaten here a few times and everything has been great. That being said, I really have to highlight the black garlic miso ramen and the French toast dessert. They are both incredible!! The miso ramen has this incredible savory flavor and the beef is the perfect protein to go with it. My husband enjoyed his tonkotsu ramen as well, but one bite of my black garlic ramen and he's hooked. The French toast was also incredible. There appeared to be a small amount of Nutella spread in the middle with some mochi ice cream on top and it was so soft and flavorful!
