They have an ordering window and it's not a sit down restaurant. Their menu is quite small: rice bowls, noodles, and appetizers. I ended up ordering beef noodles and sitting and waiting for my food. It took about 10 minutes and I went on my merry way! I ended up eating my food at work, and I thought it was okay and nothing fantastic. I was surprised from the ratings, but the food was quite average. There was a surprising spice kick, too. The noodles weren't sweet, weren't savory, and wasn't spicy. Again, they were quite average. The food and portion of the plate was perfect. It was quick to order and wait time wasn't too long. It's a window where there's 2 tables and chairs outside where you can choose to eat. When I arrived I noticed they took the tofu option off the menu. Not sure how long it's been off the menu but I asked if they still had it and they told me they did have some that day. If you're vegetarian or just want some tofu, doesn't hurt to ask! The bowl/plate was one of the best I've had, everything was perfect and flavor was just right. First and foremost my cost $26 which is kinda costly but I went with the yelp reviews. So, i ordered the gyoza or dumplings as we know them by that. They were pan fried just the way I like them. The sauce disappointed me, it tasted like soy sauce and im not a fan. I go to the Asian market and get the better dipping sauce. As for the meal, I got the spicy beef and it was dry. Spicy level was not up to par. Nothing to brag about but these yelp reviews give you a different perspective so I had to try it out due to the out pour of the the reviews. Me personally I won't come to this place. I've had way better at other teriyaki places than this and for much cheaper. Thats just my take on it and how I feel about this place. Wow, this place is such a hidden (literally) gem! We tried the sesame chicken (a little spicy), teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef and some spicy shrimp noodles. Everything was fantastic! Love this place for a quick lunch break. They pretty consistently have a daily special which is usually a chicken and/or shrimp meal with rice, glass noodles, and veggies. Bowl House usually caters to the staff and students at University of La Verne, thankfully I started working in the area so I have also started coming here regularly for lunch. The food is reasonably priced and is always delicious and fresh. I've ordered two items so far, the stir fried noodles with shrimp and curry with chicken. The portion sizes are great and I always find myself with leftovers to take home. The restaurant only has a window to order, and there's limited seating outside (no indoor seating). But there's usually vacant tables or you can walk across the street for more bench seating. Let me start off by saying that the food here is SO good. Everything is full of flavor. I got their bulgogie beef, which comes with steamed rice and glass noodles, and it did not disappoint. The woman working was also very friendly and always smiling so I would say great service as well. This place is almost like a small stand where you order through a window and they just hand you your food so there's really no ambiance, just grab and go. Now for the reason that they got four stars from me. The portion of the food is very small for the price. This plate alone after taxes is almost $17 and I am still hungry! You can run to a Hawaiian bbq joint and get almost double the food for the price. Either they need to have bigger portions or they need to lower their prices.
