Lovely "sides" to accompany your bowl
    Gee D.

Yummy treats await you. Flavors of home, comfort and warmth invite you to stay a while. Plenty of natural light. Greeted with smiles upon crossing the threshold. Full pane windows from floor to ceiling. I will return because the menu has so many options.

Decided to come here for a quick lunch on a weekday and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of seating and we were quickly greeted by staff and seated. I ordered the wings and lunch special with beef bulgogi. The beef bulgogi plate and portions were great for the price. All of the sides were great too. The wings were okay in my opinion; if you're looking for wings there are other amazing local spots that specialize in KFC. Overall it's a great place to stop in and grab a quick lunch or dinner!

A Korean restaurant on Solano Avenue. I ordered kimchi fried rice, and it came with some side dishes. Maybe they were busy, the service felt a bit curt. Overall, it was neither great nor bad. The atmosphere was nice though.

This litte Gem we found in Albany for some authentic Korean food is amazing! The food is delicious the service is great! Prices are very fair fair. Small space but very comfortable! The wings are phenomenal the ramen is ao good served in a hot bowl and we loved the kimchi potstickers!!!!! The food here is soooooooo good!!!! And the servers are so sweet. Pricing is fair. For three people we spent $95 before tip with leftovers!!!! Keep this place around!

Great, quick service. Clean restaurant. Kid freindly, big portions. I definitely will return

    Right tag, wrong meal.

Ordered from the website last night because I was at work and had a co-worker pick up my order- Beef Tofu Stew w. Rice Cakes and Spicy wings. I opted for tteokbokki bc I was going to have the stew for lunch on my overnight shift and tteokbokki holds up better than ramen. Nothing better to lift your spirits on a cold rainy night than beef tofu stew, right? Imagine my disappointment when I cracked into my stew half way into my 12 hour shift and found bloated, soggy, fall apart ramen. Lowkey ruined my night. The tag on my bag was right, but the meal wasn't. (Order #97007)

Used to love going to the Bowl'd in Albany and was so excited to try out this branch in Alameda. Unfortunately, quality and flavor is just not what it used to be. Jhap chae in specific had an overpowering mushroom flavor that wasn't my preference and the fried chicken had no flavor.

I came here for lunch with a coworker. It's my first time trying a bento box here, and portion size is pretty good! I haven't been here for some time now, but the fried chicken is still as good as I remember. Very quiet on a weekday lunch. Parking was super easy to find on the street. Service was good. I should come back more frequently!

My family loves this place and for good reason. It is veg friendly and offers multigrain rice options for all their dishes. We came in for a weekday dinner, found street parking right outside the restaurant and was seated immediately. I ordered a beef kimbop and the ginseng chicken stew. They gave 2 sets of side dishes as well. The kimbop with multigrain rice was really yummy, packed with veggies and flavorful beef. The ginseng chicken stew was okay. The soup didn't have much ginseng flavor, and the sticky rice and chestnuts inside the chicken was undercooked and still hard. The chicken was tender and did absorb some of the ginseng flavor which was nice. Service was beautiful, you know it's good when they anticipate your needs. My sister was sniffling over the spicy ramen and the server came over with a stack of napkins. How nice Overall, pretty good, a bit disappointed with the ginseng chicken stew, but still a solid Korean spot on Solano

Amazing food. Loved bibimbak and spicy pork belly and tofu soup Except spicy wings are very sweet. Service is great. Would definitely come back.

    Bibimbap

I love love loved this place. I went a few years ago and they didn't have many gluten-free options, but they have totally changed that. I ordered the Bibimbap with salmon. Since it was cold outside, I asked for it hot, and I loved it, so many vegetables, lots of flavor, and they actually have gluten-free soy sauce. The trouble with many places is that when they say they have gluten-free options, they take away the sauce and all of the flavor. Here this was not the case at Bowl'd. I loved how the rice was crispy in the bottom of the bowl and the different textures and flavors blended together for one yummy dish. I would definitely go back. My Non-gluten-free family got the chicken barbecue and shared it and both really enjoyed their meal. They've been here many times and always get the same thing because they love it and finally brought me with them. I can't wait to go back. There were other options for gluten-free but right now I am remembering my dish and want to get it again. The restaurant was quite busy, atmosphere was upbeat and fun and the service was good. No complaints!

I don't know it was ported to be chicken, but it looks like something my cat coughs up

Well, this place has been an occasional favorite, but I hadn't been for a while. The price on their soup has gone up close to 50%.! and the quality has gone hugely down! It used to have these nice mushrooms on top and other veggies and now it was just a bowl of what looked like pre-chewed tofu and chicken that I really don't think came from a chicken- was tough, stringy, and inedible

Our go to lunch place for Ramen and Wings. Service is always great and quick. Food is always good.

Ask the Community - Bowl'd Korean Rice Bar

Is the Ginseng Chicken soup gluten-free?

I wouldn't think so. There's rice inside the chicken.

    Is there outside seating?

They no longer have an outdoor area. All indoors.

Hi I am vegetarian,so question is your food all is vegetarian ? Garlic and onion inside the food?

They have vegetarian options available and I am assuming it has garlic and onion in some of the dishes. The business is operating so I would recommend looking at their menu or you can always go in and ask.

I used to be a regular here but haven't been back for about 6-9 months. Nicely renovated inside, but the wait staff is all new (to me), and the food taste slightly different. Is this under new management/owner?

Why is this restaurant listed as vegan, vegetarian???? I don't even see vegetarian protein options.

The Buckwheat works, a cold buckwheat noodle dish, is listed as vegan on the menu, although omnivores have the option to add meat. Other dishes can be ordered w/ tofu.

When we walked in, we were seated immediately which was cool but after that, the service was downhill from there. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because it seemed a little busier due to it being trivia night but we still felt pretty forgotten at our table. We first ordered the chicken tinga tacos, those were solid. Next we ordered brisket frito dish and the bbq burnt ends. That order took approximately 20 minutes to come out. We then ordered the main dishes. I ordered the 2 meat 2 side combo (Brisket, Hot Link, Potato Salad and Garlic Roll). Everyone else ordered tri tip and brisket. I was able to try those items myself. The brisket was ok. The tri tip tho? Y'all remember that mid BBQ spot called Dickey's? Yeah that's what the food reminded me of. The tri tip was disappointing and had zero flavor. The hot link was fine. As for the sauces? They have a sweet bbq, a chipotle bbq and a cali gold type of sauce. I'm sure they make all of them in house because the sweet bbq sauce did not taste much like bbq sauce and the chipotle bbq sauce wasn't any better. The sweet bbq just tasted strange and sweet. The yellow cali gold was exceptional. I think my favorite thing probably was the potato salad and the garlic roll. Once it came time to pay, we were given a to-go box as requested by my brother and no tab. So we waited an additional 25 minutes before my brother just got up and stood at the edge of the bar counter to get someone's attention regarding the tab. All in all, it's safe to say for me at least, I'm not in any rush to return.

I happened to be in the bay near university right around the time the store opened and since they are my favorite bbq spot, decided to give them another try. I'm so glad I did. Got a 3 way with ribs, sliced beef and links with sides of potato salad and baked beans for $46.00. Again, so glad I went. Everything was delicious! The meat was cooked to perfection and tender. The sliced beef had pieces of garlic cooked into it. So good! The beans were a little too sweet for my liking and the potato salad was basic potato salad made to satisfy many different palates so it was just ok. But the star of the show was the meat and it didn't disappoint. Everything was hot and fresh. The bbq sauce was hot and there was plenty of it on the meat. One change I noticed was the walk up window. No longer are you able to walk inside the building. All orders are taken at one window and picked up at a different window. The guy taking my order was nice and friendly. He smiled a lot, told me that I Clearly hadn't been there for a few months when I commented on the new walk up window. When I mentioned I live out of town, he thanked me For stopping by on my visit to the bay. Ms. Mary would have been proud all the way around, for the food, service and the presentation this particular day!!!

Unfortunately, the banana pudding was not delivered. I did request a refund through the Uber app regarding the banana pudding's missing from the order. As for the four-way combo. The meats order was the ribs, brisket , link, and the burnt ends. Unfortunately, the combo did not have any burnt ends, instead it seemed like extra ribs. As for the sides with the combo, we did ordered the mac & cheese and the potato salad. The mac & cheese was slightly different than other mac & cheese, I've had from other places. It seemed to have a little bit of different spices in it, a strong garlic and paprika taste. As for the potato salad, at first, I wasn't sure if it was potato salad or mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the potato salad did not taste or seem at all like potato salad to me. They pour the barbecue sauce on top of all the meat. The only problem with that, is by the time we got the bag it was soaking wet at the bottom with the barbecue sauce that had spilled out of the container. Personally, I feel, orders for delivery or to go should have had the barbecue sauce on the side to prevent this from leaking outside of the container or in somebody's vehicle.

But this place completely changed that for me. Their mac and cheese comes out hot, steamy, and loaded with flavor, comfort food turned into something way more exciting. What really stands out is how creative the combinations are; it's not just cheese and pasta, it's layers of texture and bold flavor that keep me coming back. The buffalo chicken mac is a standout. It arrives with this crispy, golden breadcrumb topping that adds the perfect crunch. Pro tip, if you're getting it for takeout or delivery, the steam softens the topping in the container, so you miss out on that contrast. It's definitely best enjoyed fresh, in person, when that crunch is at its peak. Then there's the elote mac, which brings a totally different vibe. The bits of corn add little pops of sweetness throughout, and the slices of lemon on top are a game changer. A quick squeeze cuts through the richness of the cheese and oil, balancing everything out in a really satisfying way. They have a gorgeous display of deli items, wines, cheeses, cold sides, and even some cute candles & house made croutons. They've got everything you would need for an elevated picnic or even a barbecue with the family. They have an intriguing selection of house made sausages-- the Chicken Tikka Masala sausage caught my eye and I can't wait to try it.
