    Tuna Mayo Kimbap
    Kenneth H.

Everything was a little pricey but good. Tuna kimbap was appetizing. Bulgogi had good flavors. Meat was not overly tender. The seafood sdb had good flavor, but not particularly plentiful(?). I've had some other sdb at a slightly higher price and it was less.. watery(?) and packed with more ingredients. This particular sdb was more soupy and the others I've had were more stewy--if this makes sense. Overall was good. Restoom pretty clean. Next time would like to get the budae jiggae.

First time at Olchi. Small clean restaurant with about 9 tables. I went for lunch today around 1:30 pm. Small menu. I wish they had other stew options like kimchi jigae and dweongjang jigae with more banchan. Only 3 banchan, kimchi, broccoli and japchae noodles. They have 3 options for soft tofu soup (beef, seafood and combo). I asked for a veggie option which was possible. The broth was salty. The service was nice from I believe the owner. Parking lot.

I went here recently with friends and we had a delightful experience! The restaurant was small, cute, and charming. We were served relatively quickly after ordering and were tended to during our experience there. Everything was yummy! We would come back if we're ever in the area again.

Had to come back today! I found a new love. Soondubu is her name. We ordered the gyoza, combo Soondubu and sweet spicy chicken bites. Everything was piping hot at the table! The Soondubu bubbled for a long time! I cracked my egg into my Soondubu and let it marinate while I enjoyed the gyoza and pieces of the delicious chicken. You have to come and try it!

Good service, thoughtful and speedy from one person (presumably an owner) and friendly kitchen staff that were all smiles from the visible line I enjoyed the food, however I will say the ribs were a little rubbery But the side dishes here and the kimchi were in fact incredible Good dining experience overall, not GREAT but good

On New Year's Eve, while running errands in the East Bay, we found ourselves craving Korean food and stumbled upon Olchi, which appears to be a newer restaurant. The interior is clean and bright, with a cozy, café like atmosphere and a cute, relaxing vibe. We ordered the Army Stew for two, and it absolutely hit the spot on a cold evening. It was served on a portable stove to keep it hot throughout the meal. While I'm not an expert on how it's traditionally supposed to taste, it was delicious, well balanced with plenty of vegetables and meat. We added ramen, which made it even better. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, with frequent check-ins that never felt disruptive. Overall, this is a great spot to visit if you're craving a hearty, comforting meal.

Very cute, family-style restaurant. The place is clean and bright, and the service is top-notch. Our server (possibly the owner) was extremely kind and attentive, frequently checking on us and making sure our tea was refilled and that we didn't need anything. The menu is kept minimal, but they offer budae jjigae, which is not easy to find these days. We ordered the budae jjigae with noodles, and it was delicious--full of flavor, perfectly spicy, and packed with vegetables, sausage, Spam, tofu, ground beef, and more. The side dishes portions were also very generous. We had hot tea, plum soda, and yuzu soda, all of which were great. Overall, the experience was wonderful. I'm very impressed, highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be coming back!

Surprised a Korean restaurant is in El Sobrante! Really good and love the combo plates. We got the beef bulgogi and the boneless chicken bites. For about $21-$23 you get the meat, rice, fish cakes, kimchi and japchae. Very good portion for the price. Dumplings are fried and comes with sauce. Very good solid spot for Korean food

I am so happy such a good Korean restaurant opened up near me As a Korean from Korea, I can vouch that this place is legit and authentic. We tried their army stew, beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, and seafood pancake and everything was bomb. The owners were super sweet and attentive too! They apparently owned restaurants in Korea too so they know what they are doing. They have their own parking lot so no need to worry about parking either. Very highly recommend!!!

Great presentation and service. I'm 100% sure this restaurant is a great addition to the area. I'm not 100% sold on it though. They offer a variety of Korean food so there's a lot to try. Prices are a bit high but everything is just crazy these days. I wish they do better for their chicken option. The boneless sweet and spicy chicken wasn't crispy enough.. barely crispy at all actually. I would love to see some Korean fried chicken options here someday.

Ordered the pork bulgogi. Very well priced with good proportions. Kimchi was excellent and nice staff in a very clean atmosphere! Cheers and enjoy!

Olchi has kalbi!! I was hoping they would add it to the menu and, thank the heavens, they did! And OMG...it is mouthwateringly delicious!! And so much meat!! This time, wife and I ordered seafood pancake appetizer to start. Crispy and flavorful with a tasty dipping sauce. But the star of the show for me were those juicy grilled short ribs!! I'm am so happy and FULL!!

I am afraid of too many people finding this place but their deliciousness must be shared. The menu is scaled back but everything has been a hit and consistent too! I'd rather a less is more menu with thought and care put into it than an inconsistent one. Their service is friendly and attentive, and I don't feel rushed either. This is a little thing but I like that they give non-metal chopsticks because I struggle with those :P and IU cutout is there what more must I say about the ambiance? B) I get their beef soondubu and love that it's flavorful and never watered down! I've also loved the banchan they provide, every one is good here where it might be you only like half at another place. The north-east bay needs more spots like this!

Inside was nice and clean. The meat of beef bulgogi might be the toughest I'd had. It was also a little on the dry side.

I was having dinner with my friend and he suggested to eat at this place. I have never been here…read morebefore and the name seems rather unique, so I decided to give it a try. Would never have guessed it was a Korean restaurant. We were seated right away and our server was pretty attentive. We got the usual bon chon of appetizers and were able to place our orders quickly. Kimchi Jeon: I always love the Korean pan cake. My choices are usually the Green Onion or the Kimchi variant. Here, they had the Kim chi version. It was crispy and fried to perfection and was not salty. The dipping sauce helped complement the pancake and there was plenty enough to go for a second round. Soy garlic and spicy fried chicken: This was absolutely delicious. The spicy was not too spicy, with just the right amount for the kick and not making me want to drink milk. It was also crispy and crunchy, which is what I expect from Korean fried chicken. The soy garlic was phenomenal. The sauce was not overtly sweet and it tasted what I expect from the flavor profile. These pieces were also fried to perfection as well. Kimchi Soondooboo: I always love the soft tofu soup and I am glad they had this here as well. The version here is vegetarian (though you do get an egg). The tofu was soft and there was plenty of it in the soup. My only complaint personally was that the broth was a bit bland for me. Could be that I am used to have a meat version of kimchi Soondooboo. It still tasted delicious on a cold night, but I felt it was still missing some seasoning or flavoring. Overall, had a great experience here and looking forward to coming back.

Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, they even have a tv where they play the football games with kpop music in the background. Their banchan was SO good and fresh!! They also replenish if you finish the first round. We had a part of 3 and I ordered the chicken dolsot bibimbap (hot stone), galbi, and seafood soondubu (tofu soup) with no spice. We devoured our soup and all all of our bibimbap and galbi. We also ordered galbi dinner takeout which is the galbi, a cup of rice, and huge portion of the banchan! It was soo good, they also serve beer and soju here, feels like you're in Korea! Service was great, there was only one server and he was able to manage everything. Also a good place for takeout too!

Mugunghwa has their own parking lot, which is nice since parking is not the easiest in this area when it gets busy. The restaurant is a pretty good size compared to the strip mall just north of this location. They could handle a larger group, no problem. We were a party of two and ordered a combo along with some wings. The food: The banchan here is S-Tier. Everything is so flavorful and there is a lot of diversity. I'm including the SSAM as banchan, which includes lettuce, thinly sliced, pickled daikon, thin pieces of raw garlic, pickled jalapeno and onion, and a gochujang based sauce. I really enjoyed the bulgogi with the sides. I wasn't exactly sure how to eat it, but I put a little bit of everything that came with the SSAM along with some rice and bulgogi and it was delicious. We ordered an 8 piece wing that they were able to split half Soy Garlic and half Spicy. It was nice they offer half/half on such a small order. Crunch was good, but not excellent. As part of the combo, we got the Seollongtang, a thinly sliced beef brisket soup and purple rice. The soup was neutral and not super beefy. It looked about right, but maybe it could have used a little more salt. Overall, really impressed with the selection and the complimentary side dishes here! Excited to find another solid Korean restaurant in the Bay Area.

My family has gotten food poisoning here in TWICE!! First when they opened and then in May 2026…read more Both times we got their meat dishes, and I have a suspicion that they're stored or cooked improperly. Everyone that ate the bulgogi had diarrhea the next day. It's sad bc the flavors of the food here is actually very good and authentic (and I've gotten the hot tofu soup many times and that seems to be okay). If you look into the older reviews, you can see that there have been others complaining of getting food poisoned. I hope they take this issue seriously and look into their food handling practices. For health reasons I will not return back here unfortunately.
