This is my favorite spot to bowl in the area. Right when you walk in, Bowlerama has a classic, nostalgic bowling alley ambiance. Perhaps what makes this place great are the people that work there. Zach that works the front desk is always warm, super friendly and always greets me by name when I come in. Josh that Pro shop is a simply awesome and probably the best expert in his field in the area. Bowlerama may not have all the bells and whistles of a newer bowling alley but I can see why so many ppl in Killeen love this place. read more

1 star because you can't post a review without a star...let me start with the lanes suck first off we paid $39 to bowl only for the lanes to halfway work the manager came over twice fixed it...one of the workers (females) came over and tried to explain that because we rolled a ball down there the maintenance man have to go in the back and get it. So what's the point in having the lanes open? So I tell her I got that but the lanes have been messing up the entire time she proceeds to say "well the systems are outdated so we been having trouble all night" so why even issue lanes with broken equipment... The "SNACK BAR"....It was a call over the intercom "last call for the snack bar"...I went to order my kid some chili cheese fries she said we are closed I said I'll get pickles then...she literally grabbed them out the container with her bare hand, after she touched the counter, the cash register, the handle to lift the container where the pickles were stored, then proceeded to hand them to me I threw them away.... Overall the customer service, the equipment, the entire place needs to be SHUT DOWN!!! the manager have little regard to what's going on and quite frankly doesn't care. I came back to bowl at Bowlerama yesterday 2/2 and had the most fun bowling that I've had in awhile. The staff there is great and the lanes are maintained perfect for all skill levels. The Maxson family that owns the alley are some of the friendliest people you will meet in town and can provide you some great laughs if you get to know them. I currently live in North Austin, but I plan on making my weekend bowling trips to this establishment. Was there for about 45 seconds and walked out. The worse bowling alley I've ever been to. I'm only here cause Im bowling a tournament at the alley. Came in the night before just to practice on the lanes. The front desk guy obviously has no life. Wouldn't let us bowl 1 game and expected us to pay for unlimited when they closed in less than 30 minutes. read more

Less than a star. I just want y'all to know that you guys run a shit show operation. My mother is 72 and can only use a 6 pound ball,she can't lift the 8 pound because,you know,she's 72 and some old lady who worked there kept trying to enforce this rule on my mom that women can only use balls no less than 8 pounds. So a 70 year old woman has to use the same ball a 25 year old woman does? No exceptions? What kind of nonsense is that? The lady who worked there was completely insensitive and deserves to be fired. What bad business,horrible customer service and just a bad message it sends to people. "Hey if you're old and can't lift a 8 pound ball,sorry about it,too bad." That's basically what your business is saying. I'm going to spread this to every outlet I can. Bowling is suppose to be a good time with your family and that's impossible to do at your establishment. I planned on bringing a large group in tonight for a going away get together for my boss. After checking their website and seeing that outside food or drinks are not allowed EXCEPT FOR CAKE AND ICE CREAM, I called to confirm this with the staff since we planned to bring cupcakes. The woman I spoke with on the phone was VERY rude and told me "no that's only for paid parties and you can't bring in cupcakes." I explained to her that the only place it said anything on the website was no outside food except cake or ice cream, and it was very misleading. I just wanted to bring in store bought cupcakes to give my boss a proper send off, and we fully intended to purchase food and drinks from their snack bar as well. She just kept repeating herself, and saying she would get them to change their website then, and too bad for me. Her unprofessional attitude and snarky tone were unnecessary and unappreciated. We will still be having our get together here as it's the day of and too late to change venues, or we most definitely would go somewhere that has better customer service, and accurately lists their policies on the website. read more

Welcome to 1980 place need to be remodeled all together. Pretty sure the balls and equipment are from that time period as well... if you like the Galaga arcade game look no further. Just pick up a ball, roll it down the strip and bam you got the shooting sound from all the chips in the ball. Also if you like extremely rude customer service this is the place for you! I grew up in Killeen and went here alot in my youth, so now as an adult I was pumped to take my younger cousins here on Saturday for Moonlight bowling. We came at 10pm paid $39 for the 3 of us, and then started bowling. On the 4th frame of the first game, the thing that picks up the pins would not go back up, I told the front desk and he said it's been running slow all night. ( why he put us at a slow lane when there were a lot of other open lanes baffles me) it finally lifts but after 3 minutes, so we play again, it did the same thing 5 times. My cousins and I are irritated. On our second game I ask for a lane change because it took over 10 minutes for it to lift, so he changes us to lane 15. We finish our second game (we picked up in the 3rd frame) this lane is waaaaay better already cause it works. It's only 1130pm when the lane goes dark. I go up to the desk and let them know, when it didnt turn on again after 15 minutes we decided to leave, we had bowled a total of 2 games and 2 frames. I was so irritated because nothing other than half ass apologies were made to us. No offer to make anything better. I'm never coming here again. The bowling balls have dings and holes in all of them and searching for a decent one in the dark is hard, again it was NOT that packed there were still open lanes. That tells me there arent enough balls for everyone. read more

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. The staff is extremely rude. Mind you I worked in customer service for years before now serving the military. After aggressively explaining to me that I needed to purchase a second lane for my 4 year old daughter who wasn't bowling because that totaled 6 people, I expressed my displeasure with it but was proceeding to bowl when the associate said "well is she not a human being?" I asked to speak with one of the managers because of the extremely condescending remarks made to my family and myself and they basically shrugged it off. While doing so the associate began to shrug his shoulders and make gestures as if to prove a point to me. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone ever. Staff and management is terrible. Not for policies but for the smirk remarks that are made. I'm not sure if it was because I'm arm services or because of my ethnicity but the staff here could all be replaced. My family and I went to phantom bowling on base and had zero issues with purchasing 1 bowling lane for the 5 in our party that were bowling and my daughter was able to enjoy eating without us having to purchase a second lane. I hope that no one, including military or people of different ethnicities ever visit this place again. read more

This bowling alley is filthy and the gentleman working tonight with the goatee beard is being really rude. He's come to our group twice tonight and been very aggressive and rude, once because my friend had his beer on the small stand by the computer and a second time because we used one ball to get another ball unstuck. Twice in 15 minutes our lane got stuck and our balls didn't come up. I won't be coming back here! The rude gentleman's name is Johnny. I will be calling his bosses in the morning. Super clean, delicious food! We are in town visiting family and took my kids and my cousin's child here to bowl. THe bowling area was immaculate. The restroom was not perfect, but it smelled like bleach and had been cleaned the night before. The grilled cheese and cheese burger were fantastic. The staff was very polite and helpful. read more

Went there to have fun with my husband. Place was pretty empty, then they put someone next to us. No big deal a father and his daughter. Well apparently we had set our shoes at the wrong table and some OLD lady decided she needed to come and scream at me to tell me we were at the wrong table and needed to move out stuff. They guy was like no they are fine. Its not a big deal. Im not going to trip over their shoes. Plus he wasnt even sitting at the table. Like really that is how you treat your customers. There was a much nicer way to speak to me. To top it off our balls kept getting stuck and the lane kept not resetting the pins. I will NEVER be back again. This place was awful. Don't even bother with this place. We went here on a Sunday night because the other nearby places would be closed by the time we drove to them. This place stayed open til 10 pm. So it gave us time to get there and bowl. At first, the old antique look and feel of the place is pretty cool. But then, you start looking closer and realize this place is just old and nasty. Like 50 layers of germs kinda nasty. The lane we were assigned to kept malfunctioning. It took us almost 45 minutes to get through the first three turns among three players. So we requested a refund for the game because the lane required a manual reset pretty much after every turn we bowled. The nasty, rude, disrespectful little teenagers that run the bowling alley claimed that because we were there for the amount of time we were, they could only refund us 1/2 the cost. But we couldn't even make it through half the game. It took us so long because the lane wasn't functioning. And let's not overlook the fact that in addition to paying for the game, we purchased quite a bit of food. So these people got our moneys and then some. You'd think the least they could do would be to return our money for a game that we couldn't play or enjoy. The only other option they gave us was to wait for another one of the lanes to become available and they would let us finish up our remaining frames. These people don't have an understanding of good customer service. They're condescending and ignorant to paying customers the moment you walk in the door. In the future, I rather drive out to Temple or even Austin and give my money to a business that will respect me as a paying customer, than to drive 5 minutes up the road and give these people 1 red cent. We went for glow bowl and had a great time. After going to another one in the area that was overpriced and not that special we hadn't gone for a long time so were glad to find this. I went here on a Wednesday to play a few games with a couple friends and chill. We had a great time, and the food was actually amazing for bowling alley food! We ordered one club sandwich with fries, a cheeseburger, and fried mushrooms. First let me say, the presentation of the food was just amazing and I could really tell the young man had put a lot of effort into "satisfying the customer" and preparing our food. I was impressed being that I use to work in a restaurant. Not only was the presentation impeccable, it was really delicious. The young man behind the snack bar was very friendly, and had a nice smile. He took great care of us, and made sure we weren't needing for a thing: ranch, ketchup, napkins, you name it, we had it. The prices were fair too, can't complain at all. The atmosphere is really laid back, despite it being "an older building", it is very charming and welcoming. The customer service was awesome, and has ensured my return in the future. I will definitely recommend this place to my family and coworkers in confidence. Thank you. read more
