I enjoyed my evening at Bowlero in Shrewsbury! First off, the price of the lane for two hours is better than other alleys in the area. There was a good selection of bowling balls (I'm not an expert on bowling, but the ball selection was fine for me, lol). They had waitstaff that came around, my boyfriend had a drink and a burger; the burger was well portioned and priced. There are two sides of the place- a fun side with music videos and lights and whatnot, and then a more serious pro-bowlers side that's all white walls and sad- but less distracting if you're into that. On the fun side, you're very close to the people in the lane next to you; there's not a ton of space. I went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. But there's a lot of parking! When I showed up, the police were outside and started questioning if my group was who called, we just got there so it wasn't us, but they were walking around the parking lot trying to find who called. I'm sure that's not a normal occurrence, but rest assured shrewsbury PD is keeping bowlero safe! read more

Came here with my family for my mother's birthday and was disappointed. I used to love this place growing up but it's gone down hill. Was shocked by how rude the guy at the front desk was. Came here in the afternoon on a weekday. They stacked all of the bowlers on top of each other so no one was comfortable - people were taking balls from each other, walking in front of people in the lanes, etc. The lane malfunctioned in my last frame and the employees solution was to "roll a ball and get an automatic strike" (not to reset the machine so I could finish my game. After 2 games, we decided to visit the arcade games instead. We loaded a card for $20 (36 credits). We tried to play the basketball game, but there were no basketballs in the machine. I explained to the employee at the front desk (1 of 2. The other never looked up from his phone), who made me feel like I had done something wrong or messed up in some way. He told me he loaded more credits onto my card to make up for the basketball machine. I tried to use the card again and it said I had only .5 credits. I went up again to explain the problem and the phone guy took my card to reimburse me. He brought me a card with 25 credits on it (11 fewer than I started with after playing NO games). I will never be back - awful business, broken machines, and lazy employees! read more

We held a company outing here and everything was fantastic! The manager had everything ready for us and it was an absolute breeze. We had four lanes for two hours and the party included delicious pizza (we were surprised at how good it was), and veggies and dip. Last night, we had the most incredible family party for my son's 6th birthday. George, the facility manager, was incredibly helpful, friendly, intuitive and responsive. He made it so easy for us to manage our guests without having to worry about the details. Our food was refilled before we thought to ask, he fetched Pokémon balloons from the ceiling, he got stranded bowling balls, refilled our pitchers, and was courteous and proactive for the entirety of the event (and even after the party timeframe when we were playing arcades). I have to differentiate this review into two parts. For one, their lanes are incredible. From the level and frequency of oiling to the reliable function of the pin setting machines are second to none. That being said, almost everything else about this alley leaves something to be desired. They have a system I. Place to order drinks and food from your lane from a QR code. I personally placed an a order and played 1.5 games before taking thing into my own hands and just RE-ordering what I wants at the bar. The bar, which was wildly understaffed. When I say understaffed I don't just mean in terms of man power (which it was) I also mean understaffed in that no one behind that bar has any clue how to pour a beer, mix a cocktail, take an order, multitask, or otherwise manage a bar. Our first time at Bowlero and it was great. Like all restaurant/entertainment venues they were impacted by staff shortages or staff out due to COVID. There was one staff member working who we later learned was Ivy, the general manager who was wearing every hat possible. Bartender, server, busser, kitchen staff, maintenance/lane service and bowling check in. She had one other staff member on for the majority of time we were there and she was doing a phenomenal job. Literally running around to help everyone- and very clearly communicating "I'll be with you in 2 mins" to everyone who needed help. The venue itself was great. We live in Milford and used to go to Pinz to bowl, but since they changed their lanes and installed the pins on strings it's terrible. This was true, accurate bowling and we had a great time. Decided to give Bowlero a chance since Auburn was packed for league. Immediately as we approached the front desk, the manager "Jonathan" gave us attitude. My group of friends (6 Total) were debating on what to do since Jonathan refused to let us get 2 lanes next to each other despite it being pretty empty, he claims "i can only give you one lane for 6", we did see a few other groups with multiple lanes and less than 4 on each. We eventually decided to just split up hoping he'll put us a few lanes away from each other, he put us on lane 10 and 16, while the lanes in between were all open. Asked to switch and was met with a sly "nope". Jonathan also gave us attitude and rushed us as we were deciding who's card to put down. Paid for 3 games, only bowled one and left as the manager killed the vibe of our group. Don't waste your money or time here, AMF Auburn and Apex is exponentially better. read more

It's very fitting that this place is located on route 9 because it is HIGHWAY ROBBERY. 2 people, 30 min of bowling (forced to buy their disgusting inedible food since we got beer) and it cost us $75.00. $75.00!! Honestly, i'd rather give good reviews than bad but today i visited Bowlero in Shrewsbury with my grandsons and i feel it necessary to post something. what i liked: the place is clean, there is a lot to do for the kids, the girl who checked me in was pleasant, there's plenty of parking what i didn't like: * the pricing is absolutely insane! $48 for 3 to bowl 1 string???!!! absurd. that price did include the cost of the shoes (shoes were awful) *Our lane froze/broke 3 different times and each time we had to wait to have it fixed * you have to provide a credit card when you arrive for them to have on file in the event you skip out and don't pay. Although i would never do it, i can see why someone would skip out with those prices! * Each time i went to the desk, i had to wait for help since staff was not around *i bought $20 in credits on two cards and they only played a few games and the $ was gone. they have the nerve to charge $2 fee for each card so i paid $40 and only got $36 in credits. What a rip-off. So it cost me $100 to bowl and for the cards for my 2 grandsons. When we arrived , there was only 1 other group bowling. Considering this is school vacation week, i expected the place to be packed. I'm sure it's the price that keeps people away. i will not go back to this place at these prices. Too bad. read more

In short, awful, awful service and extremely overpriced games. I was there with a 4 year old and my wife to bowl some strings. When I pulled up, the parking lot was a complete ice skating rink, there was no treatment done whatsoever, and this was an hour after it had opened! So we made it in, and wow, they definitely did revamp it since I'd been there last, so that's a plus. Approached the desk, and it cost $37 for a 4 year old and 2 adults to bowl. That was a shock, but hey, the experience will be worth it! Right? Nope! Asked the guy at the desk about food as it was lunch time, and he said our server would be over shortly. Made it through half a string with my wife and kid (about a half hour) and still no one had shown up and we were hungry. I approached the front desk, and they said to just order there. Um, okay. So we did. Food came a half an hour later. Wife and I ordered 2 sandwiches, and my kid some pretzel sticks. The way they talked about these pretzel sticks on the menu made it seem like they'd be the softest and most heavenly pretzel sticks you've ever seen. What we got was the exact opposite of that - they were literal candlepins. They were so inedible and it was very clear they were just frozen and reheated to the point where it dried them out. Very disappointing. Oh, and a solo cup of soda (3/4 filled with ice) was $3. Good luck trying to get any sort of refills too. Our nacho avalanche was barely an avalanche of ingredients. It looked like they took whatever was left over and put it on a huge bed of nachos with barely any toppings.
