For an arcade, you'd think that they'd have arcades that actually worked. I played Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and the stick and buttons were so horribly malfunctioned. I also wished that the games were clear as to how many tokens you needed to play them. I only had 3 tokens left and wanted to try pinball only to realize that it costs a $1 to play them. They really need to do maintenance on their arcade machines.

We called ahead on a Thursday night to see if there was a wait, and thankfully there wasn't so we came and were immediately assigned a lane. The prices were different from what was listed online, and were actually cheaper! We opted for unlimited bowling for 2 hours, and had an absolute blast. Even with it being a league night, it wasn't too busy or crowded. My only wish is that they were open later! Although, it was a weeknight haha. The ambience is so nostalgic, it's got all those special touches that make it feel like you've been transported back in time to classic bowling alleys-- like you see older movies. The rental balls are a mix of typical house balls, and what seem to be donated, personal balls. This is super fun if you're looking to try out different weights, makes, and types of grips without having to buy your own ball. The lanes were super greased up, and the scoring was accurate. Food is ordered on electric kiosks and is brought right to your lane. Drinks are ordered directly at the bar and you can walk back to your lane, and keep a tab open. There are so many things to do on top of bowling! There's an arcade and multiple (?) bars that seem to host karaoke on some nights. I highly recommend this place! One of the main attractions at Mavrix is bowling. Another is laser tag. I passed on both and checked out the arcade instead. It was time well spent because it's a pretty awesome arcade. I've been to the Bowlero in North Scottsdale and it's smaller than this one. Here, you have a bunch of fighting and driving games, interspersed with carnival-style games. I played 10 or so games total in about an hour. Wednesday is a great day to go because the games are 50% off. I didn't come away empty-handed either. With the tickets I won, I redeemed them in their prize room. It's a pretty large room too, with more prizes available than the North Scottsdale location. While I didn't have many tickets, I had enough for two pieces of candy and a T-Rex toy. Outside of what I mentioned, Mavrix has plenty of areas to sit, including a full bar. I haven't had food or drinks here, but I did take a look at the menu and it's a pretty extensive one. Definitely nicer overall than your typical bowling alley.

That made zero sense and came off unprofessional, like she was more focused on him than actually doing her job fairly. It didn't stop there. My food came out soggy and borderline unappetizing, while his was completely fine. So not only are the drinks inconsistent, but apparently the kitchen is too. For how expensive everything is, you'd expect better service and quality across the board. The place looks nice and has a fun concept, but it's not worth it if the experience depends on who you are or how the staff feels that day. They frequently checked in on my preferences beforehand and even asked how I wanted the room decorated, which they handled themselves. There are several different food options to choose from for parties but we went with pizza which was pretty good. Everything was very reasonably priced, including the alcoholic beverages, which were fun and delicious. The arcade games were all working and well maintained. They had a decent variety and definitely had all the classic games I like to play. The prize counter was also nice and I enjoyed the glow golf course. My younger nephews came to the party and enjoyed so this is definitely a fun venue for all ages. Above anything else, every single staff member made the experience so pleasant from the event coordinator (who personally was present to make sure everything was exactly as I wanted it) to the party host (who checked in on us regularly) to the bartender to the person at the prize counter.
