Love this place! It's such a beautiful place for a lunch/brunch. The staff is always friendly and the food never disappoints. I've taken my parents here, friends for a yap sessions, and have also had a few dates here. Everyone has loved their experience. Most recently I brought a friend who was visiting for lunch. She ordered the green goddess chicken salad sandwich and swapped the fries for a salad. I ordered the Ceasar salad with a bowl of the minestrone. We both loved what we ordered and caught up while we enjoyed our meal. I am moving back to the city of STL and when I do, Bowood will definitely be a favorite breakfast place. When dining at any of the, Niche restaurants, you know you are going to experience excellence in service and food. Being an Espresso Martini snob, I give the one here at Bowood an A+. It easily is in my top two of favorites. It's made with my favorite vodka, Tito's and they use real "espresso". Sometimes I have a mimosa chaser after enjoying my martini. For my breakfast entree I enjoyed a, "Classic Breakfast. It was two eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and brioche toast. I had my eggs scrambled and they were super fluffy. The bacon was freshly made and paired well with strawberry jam on the brioche toast. Their breakfast potatoes are fingerling and they're roasted. It's a nice change from the typical hash browns or American fried. The service is spectacular. Servers and bartenders are all professional and super friendly. This spot has been on my radar for a while so the second someone invited me for Brunch, I cancelled my plans to lay on my couch all day and I'm glad I did. When you first walk in it looks like you are entering a plant store (because you are) but tucked to the side is the restaurant. Recommend reservations but if there's a wait you have the option to shop & order drinks so the time flies. We ordered a blueberry pancake for the table, and it was an amazing pancake, the edges were the perfect crisp while being a soft fluffy pancake, it didn't even need syrup. I wasn't in the mood for brunch cocktails so I ordered a butter pecan iced latte and it hit the spot. It is served in a skinny tall glass so I had to keep reminding myself not to gulp it all down in a few sips. We also got a side of potatoes & a Caesar salad for the table to share. The croutons on the Caesar salad are so good, I usually prefer crushed croutons in my salad but the big chunky croutons are so good. My sister-in-law and I ordered two entrees and halved them so we got the breakfast burrito & the Cuban both were delicious. I preferred the Cuban, as the breakfast burrito chorizo had a seasoning I wasn't a huge fan of but overall they were both fresh and good. Wow! Pictures don't do Bowood justice! Part plant store, part restaurant, all beautiful. I looked around after we put our name in, the cutest plants, everything so cool. I will have to come back just to hang out in the store section as our table was ready super quick. A nice bar area and some tables in the first section, it also looked like you could just place an order on the store side of the bar and then a dining area, nicely appointed with pictures and lots of plants. So nice. Our server was super nice, got our drinks and took our order. I needed something light as I knew my lunch was going to be heavy. I ordered the Garden Grain Salad with the dressing on the side. The food came out quickly and my salad was beautiful! It was marinated wheat berries and quinoa, heirloom cherry tomato, pickled peppers, roasted corn, arugula (I love arugula!), crispy shallots, and white balsamic vinaigrette. I have been meaning to try Bowood for years now and finally stopped by with friends. We came here for brunch on a Saturday and waited roughly 30 mins for a table outside. The interior of the restaraunt is beautiful - very open and airy. There is a plant store connected, which is great for browsing while waiting for your table. I ordered the breakfast burrito & the golden milk latte and both were good. I wasn't a huge fan of the green salsa it came with, but the burrito itself was delicious. Food was excellent. Happy hour breakfast has really good prices so I went before having to work. Happy Hour is definitely worth it. Not sure if this was just me but I think the hostesses was taking my order but then forgot about me so I was waiting for my check at least 20 minutes, seeing other tables getting waited on, getting their checks, getting checked in by their waiter, and leaving before I even got one check in. The other waiter also proceeded to help take some of my plates away which I thought was kind but where did mine go? I asked another person for my check and paid and left. Service was prompt. Most tables fit 4, some booths suited for 2 people, they were able to accommodate my group of 5. It looked like there was a larger table near the front for a bigger party, perhaps 8 could fit comfortably. So cute to be able to shop for healthy and vibrant plants after breakfast and pick up some holiday themed decor. But my server recommended the Benedict so I went with that, Hollandaise on side. You know it's going to be amazing because it's apart of the Niche restaurant group - that includes many of my other favorite restaurants such as Brasserie & Pastaria. It does not disappoint. Bowood is a MUST visit and is one of my favorite brunch spots. The restaurant is attached to a retail store and garden nursery. That space is clearly not an afterthought, it is worthy of a visit in its own right with indoor and outdoor curated plants, pots, tools, and gifts. Additionally, there are event spaces for classes - which I have partaken in before once (candle making) and enjoyed it! The indoor eating area is bright and cozy. There are also outdoor and covered outdoor options. They make all the touches extra special, including glass jars of jam, Bowood postcard with your bill, even gold paper-clips. No detail goes unnoticed. I haven't even gotten to the best part yet - the food! They make the most scrumptious pancakes. I definitely suggest ordering a "table pancake" for everyone to munch on and try before their food arrives. This is one pancake vs. the entree of pancakes. That way you can try the pancake AND order an entree. Which is good news because it's hard to pick an entree. Breakfast or Lunch? They ALL look and taste amazing. Back to the table pancake - it's pretty big and one was plenty for two of us. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe and my husband ordered the eggs Benedict - we have ordered these before and love them each time. The potatoes are crisp and plentiful, the eggs Benedict is succulent, and the cacio e Pepe is seasoned simply but delectable. Served with homemade bread and greens dressed deliciously (seriously, so simple but so good), you get amazing bang for your buck. The hand squeezed orange juice is yummy with just a tiny bit of pulp. This has to be my all-time favorite brunch place ever!!! First of all, once I enter the place, I'm literally greeted by FLOWER HEAVEN?! I went at around 10:30 for an early brunch, and the sun from the windows illuminate the store beautifully. Just wow. If you're not coming for a bite, visiting the flower shop is already a wonderful experience. Their nursery is outside, so don't forget to check that out too! Even at 10:30 am, the place is already booming, so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. I didn't make a reservation, so I had to put down a name and wait. Waiting took around 30 mins, and during my wait, I checked out a store named Holliday, which is located in front of Bowood. I'll have a review for Holliday too, so check that out later! Once seated, we ordered the chicken club melt, OJ, and churro waffles. The chicken club melt, wasn't shockingly good or anything, it was your average chicken club. But you know what was shockingly good? The fries on the side!!! I promise that I'm not exaggerating, but these fries have to be the best I've ever had. It's because they're so thin, they're extra crunchy by the bite! Most of the fries I've had were thick fries which makes them more softer and soggier. These fries are a total game changer. The churro waffles were great! It's so simple but it's warmth is so heartwarming and cozy. It's not too sweet, and did not feel too heavy to the stomach. Easy ten out of ten! The OJ was great! It wasn't sour at all! I needed the refreshing and citrusy taste to pair with the chicken melt. The staff was really sweet; everyone was so easygoing and did not rush you or anything to make room for other guests. They were all so chill and friendly, always there for you when you have a question. If you don't already realize this about me I love breakfast and brunch. So my recommendation is a favorite of many Washu families where my son attended undergrad. Bowood is located in the Central West End of Saint Louis about 10 minutes from the WashU campus. Their dining is small and reservations are a must through their website. Seating is in a compact brightly lit room with glass everywhere allowing almost a feel of outdoor seating which they do offer and it's even more impressive in the garden. Bowood also offers a small full service bar that is hopping! The fare is just as amazing as the venue with fresh farm to table ingredients. The detail to the preparation of the their dishes is next level. Eggs Benedict is likely their most popular plate. They have a full drink menu with strong and fresh mimosas and a phenomenal Expresso Martini. Honestly I've never had a poor meal. The service is just as on point in my experience. Bowood by Niche has been my favorite overall breakfast and brunch spot for years in Saint Louis. I've have so many great meals and wanted to update my previous 5 stars to another 5 star. We also ordered cocktails, mimosas of course, and I ordered the blackberry 75 which was served in a beautiful tall glass and was delicious as well as the smoky mountain honey, which was smoky indeed, and came with a tart cherry at the bottom. My friend also ordered the Persephone Jewel, which she enjoyed and was beautiful as well with a dried lime slice. We ordered chocolate croissants to go. Our server Lauren was so friendly and kind and we had a nice conversation with her. Everyone was so friendly, even though we closed the place down they didn't rush us to leave and on our way out a gentleman talked with us about the plants up front for a few minutes. Drink wise, I went with a glass of sparkling rose. The eggs were phenomenal and I savored each bite. This was my first time having brioche toast and it didn't disappoint. The potatoes were ok, but didn't wow me. I appreciated the crunch they had but they lacked flavor. As for the fruit, I've never had that combo before (blackberries, pineapple, clementine, and blueberries) but it was great! After a few bites, it made me wonder if I should have gotten a mimosa and added in the fruit. That idea went to bed after a few sips of my sparkling rosè. The menu was pretty easy to look through, but deciding what to get was difficult as everything sounded good.
