Reserved a truck, put down my credit card to guarantee it. The morning of the pick up date, half way there; I get a call saying they don't have a truck for me. Extremely inconvenient, delayed my move by hours trying to find another truck. What's even worst is that they charged me $75 "cancellation fee" when they didn't have a truck for me and told me to go somewhere else. This place is a fraud. I reserved a truck two weeks in advance, then called a week ahead to confirm and was assured a truck would be waiting. The day before I was to pick up the truck they called and cancelled. No apology, just a cancellation. They don't care because they don't have to, I guess. My advice, go somewhere else, even if it costs a little more. read more

Be warned. These guys don't run the tightest ship. We thought we found an awesome alternative to u-haul for truck rentals. $40 for an in-town rental was gonna be a great deal. They have a convenient location right on 15th ave NW. We scheduled an 8 am pickup. Our helpers were scheduled to arrive at 8:30 am. We called the day before to confirm. We thought we could just zoom on over and be home in plenty of time... We arrive just after 8 am walked right in the front door to find the place well stocked in moving supplies but no one around to sell them. We thought maybe they were just taking a bathroom break so we waited... and waited... and waited. Around 8:20 or so a very sleepy guy rolled in to hand us the keys. We drove the van less than 10 miles for a couple trips on our big 1 mile move. We put gas in and returned the truck as directed. The next day they called us to tell us that we were charging us an extra $35 for a broken light. We must have hit a tree. A tree! "There's lots of trees on 15th that people hit all the time" oh uhuh. So unless we can prove that we did not hit a tree then they will charge us. Bastards. The suck part is that I totally saw the smashed in corner (did not register that it was once a light) and I failed to mark it on the walk around check. So its probably our fault for not noting it. This is literally the first review I've ever written and I'm doing it because these guys are ridiculous. Bottom line: We rented a budget truck from this place, filled the tank at our house in shoreline and drove it back to this location on 80th and 15th ave NW after hours. We got a call the next day with them telling us that our tank was only 15/16ths full rather than 16/16 and that we had to come top it off or get charged $30 for them to do it. This is a review for my first time visit and Budget truck rental. Upon arrival, I called to confirm my reservation and to ask if I may change my pick up time. The gentleman who answered the phone was very nice and accommodating. Not only did he change my truck pick up time, he informed me that the office would be closed early that day. I arrived and everything was great. Exceptional customer service. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The Budget truck I picked up seemed to be in good condition. Although, I had to have the seatbelt untwisted so that it would fit properly. When I attempted to park it at my apartment, the key would not come out of the ignition. I promptly called the office and was told that all I could do is call the Budget Roadside Assistance for help. I was also told at that time, I could not return the truck for a different one. Roadside assistance arrived 4 hours later. I was stranded outside attending to a vehicle with a key stuck in the ignition. I could not leave the truck as I feared it would be stolen. The repairman that arrived to fix the issue was a really nice guy. I do not remember his name or what company he was with or I would make a notation. He was able to remove the key with an application of WD40. However, the gear shift and steering column still had issues. While driving the Budget rental truck from Seattle to Los Angeles through the mountains, the gear shift would randomly drop the truck into 3rd gear. I also learned while driving a 6% downgrade for 7 miles in the rain, the windshield wiper blades did not work. I could of died. Not to mention, the key ignition issue, the gear shift dropping into 3rd gear, the windshield wiper blades not working, the console was hanging off on the right side. I had to use my suitcase to keep it in place so that my bottled water and soda would sit still and not pour out. My move was not an inner-city one. This was a serious 1500 mile trip. The truck that I was given had not been inspected. It was dangerous. The Budget truck rental drop off in Beverly Hills, CA even confirmed that the truck was not safe. Perhaps this Budget truck rental pick up location is good for inner city moves; however, not for long distance. I would not recommend. read more

Other reviews are very accurate. This place is a mess with awful customer service. We returned a truck with the needle right on the Full line on the fuel gauge. The lady angrily insisted it needed to be just below the fuel line otherwise we'd get charged $30. So we had to drive through heavy traffic, once again, to put $4 in gas in then come back so the needle was a hair below the Full line. And this was after spending 3 days in one of their awful, filthy trucks. And on that note: Budget trucks are the least comfortable option by far. Yeah all moving trucks suck, but U-Haul and Penske have quieter, more well built, trucks in my experience. Also - the location where we picked up our truck didn't give us our walk-around paperwork and so that meant spending about 20 minutes standing around this location while this lady repeatedly called a nonworking number and mostly just acted clueless about what to do. Except for when she laughed at us and told us how we spent way more than we should've for the truck from the location we picked it up from. Seriously. Avoid this place. Our truck was a filthy, poorly running mess and the unpleasant lady working here made it all even worse. Called me 2 days before my move and told me my truck isn't available. Customer service couldn't have been more rude dealing with my call to discuss this issue with them. They told me it's my fault for not reading the fine print online that says "we don't guarantee any reservation". Customer service rep would not let me speak to a manager and kept telling me how this was my problem for not reading that they don't guarantee any reservations. When I asked, what is the point of a reservation and what am I supposed to do now that I have movers scheduled for Saturday to move my entire home, he said nothing. It is not their problem. I was told an inventory manager would call me, did not happen. Worst possible customer experience ever and completely screwed up my moving plans. read more

I rented a truck here back in November and I had a good experience. I made my reservation online with Budget http://www.budgettruck.com/ the night before and the truck was waiting for me the next morning. The truck was similar to what I've gotten in the past from other rental places with an aluminum ramp and automatic transmission, yet I was somewhat surprised that the price was reasonable and there was no attempt to hassle or harpoon me with extra fees. I also rented a hand truck that was in good shape and well worth the rental fee. The people running the operation are not the friendliest people in the world, but in no way did I think they were rude or unhelpful; they were professional and that is all I needed. If I need to rent a truck again Budget is going to be my first call. read more

I was told to bring the truck back by noon or have a $10 late fee, which was totally reasonable. But when I pulled up at 11:57, the lights were dark. I got my stuff together and knocked on the doors but there was no answer. I called the answering machine, which rung for a long time, and by the time I left a message it was 12:01. I told them that I assumed I wouldn't get a late fee on my account even though they left early. I got my bank statement back and it looks like they charged me the late fee. I'm talking with them tomorrow to make sure there wasn't a misunderstanding, and if so, I'll change my review. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS!!!!!!!!!! I reserved a moving truck online during the week, for the weekend. I then received a call on the Friday morning telling me that they were overbooked and they were cancelling my reservation!!!! This put me in a very difficult position and I had to overpay in order to secure another moving truck from a different moving company, at very short notice. I find it very hard to believe that there is no consumer protection for when this happens. Since there isn't any protection I would STRONGLY advise everyone who reads this review to NOT book thru Budget until they change their booking policy to protect the consumer. read more

My experience with renting trucks has always been frustrating, but this place has been the best. When I was deciding on the 10 footer or the van, the guy helped me decide that the van was the best fit. Rather than go for the kill with the upsell, he gave me the best advice. Outstanding! read more

Worst service ever. I got little help from the guy at the desk, ended up leaving and taking a bus to U-Haul where I had great service and had my rental within 5 minutes. Box Solutions needs to hire more competent help with lessons in courtesy. read more

This was a bit of a leap of faith for us as we have not rented from Budget before. The last time we used truck rental we went to U-Haul, but having had not such a great customer service experience at the pick up/drop off point in Seattle we decided to try budget this time. All in all it was a great experience renting from this location. When we arrived the truck was ready to go and Robert who helped us was very courteous and professional. There were no hidden surprises or charges and they were very accommodating when we went to drop the truck off at the end of our rental. Everything was explained everything was clear and concise and they were very friendly and helpful. Overall I would give this location five out of five. Having said that the truck did have 43,000 miles and some of those miles were probably fairly hard miles, so the truck did have some rattles and squeaks. We only had to move about 5 miles, So the mileage and condition of the truck really wasn't an issue for us. read more

I had same experience, but they didn't charge me the $10, just had to call and explain. They said the after hour drop off fee of $10 is charged when you drop off the truck after they close on Mondays through Saturdays but not on Sundays because they close early. The service was great and everything went very smooth. I would use them again. read more
