First time here and overall we were very impressed. The food was very good, as were the drinks. We sat on their "patio" which was nice that they had one but there is no order service; you have to go in to order your drinks and food. The drinks you carry out your self but they did deliver the food. To pay your bill you go back inside. The "patio" is also where people go to smoke so that was a bit annoying. The tables and chairs were good as were the picnic tables. We will go back and next time sit inside and get a better feel for their overall service. read more

We stop in to Boxcars, this place is really cool, and everyone is very friendly. The service was really good, she was really sweet, the ambiance was really nice and so family friendly.... We will definitely be back. I didn't go to the restroom but my kids said they need a little TLC. read more

Love Boxcars! The owners & staff are fantastic. They have catered two of my events: First party: 80th birthday party for my mom with at least 30 family members & friends. Everything went smoothly & the food was amazing. Second party: Neighborhood reunion with 30+ people. Great pizza! I lived in Chicago for over 30 years and this is the best pizza in the area! I've had some of they're sandwiches and appetizers also, everything has been delicious! Really good service also! Never would have come here but hubby is rehabbing after surgery in Clinton. Can't wait to bring him here when he's out. He loves the food also. read more

The food is good. The menu is small. The only really not so good thing would be the wait. Sometime ago we were the only ones in the restaurant area and we had to leave because no one would wait us. There was the Hog radio station in the bar area but you think someone would oversee the restaurant portion even during a big event. Other times when it was more busy it seemed the wait lessened but when they expect no one to come it takes longer and you feel really alone. It's good for what it is. Simple, filling American food moderately priced for a sit-down with an interesting history behind the wall painting and souvenirs in the table glass. Boxcars sits by a railway and for a railroad centered small town you need a restaurant that is familiar and has history. read more

We eat here at least twice a month starting in late September and on. Steak nights are the draw. I think we will have to find another place for steak night. The service is lacking. We waited for way too long for a drink. Ordered our meals, and had the waitress tell me they were out of the Rib eye, changed my order to a Porterhouse steak. Two minutes later she is back out to tell me they are out of that steak. Ok, ordered a New York strip not a big deal. Steak was good. Next time there it's "prime rib night". Get there at 7:15 pm. Order our drinks. Order our meal, my wife orders a baked potato with her meal. They're out of baked potatoes, hmmm seems like this is becoming a trend. She adapts and orders fries. We go up to the salad bar, get our salads and go to get our salad dressing packets. Blue cheese, thousand island or honey mustard. Checked to see if their was any French, never got a response. Went to get soup, jambalaya was out, Italian meatball is the down to the dregs. Asked if there was any soup in the back. Nope! Got our meal delivered by a different waitress, wanted another drink, never saw my waitress until she delivered my bill. The atmosphere is fun. However, service was slow and fish was not too good. I had flounder and the coating was similar to fish sticks. The cod came out over done. My family rented the banquet room at Boxcars Pub & Grub for 1-5 pm on Sunday March 6, 2022 for a celebration of life for a deceased family member who was a lifelong resident of Clinton Wisconsin. We were told we could continue next door at the bar. when 10-12 of us arrived at the bar the bar maid acted mad because we pulled her away from her friends to serve drinks and 2 pizzas. Then a hostile guy and his girlfriend came in apparently arguing, my son bought them and their friends a drink, then the hostile one was trying to start a fight with my son, so they told US to leave! My family and friends spent a lot of money there that day and were treated like trash by the dirty dishwater blonde bar maid. I will be contacting the owner Tim Pogorelski. On a scale of 1-10 this dump rates a 0-3. Your lazy bar maid with the dirty dishwater blonde hair is rude and obnoxious and lazy. She was hiding in the back room, and we kept having to wait for her to come back to serve us another drink. She acted like she didn't want to serve 10-12 of us drinks and food. I will warn everyone I see to avoid this horrible establishment like the plague. read more

Great Green Bay Packer bar. We drive up from Illinois to watch the games. For game day they run $20.00 for a bucket of 8 domestic bottles, 8 pieces of wing sections for $2.00 as well as the normal menu. There is also a warming tray of free sandwiches, usually hot dogs or BBQ. The run several types of raffles throughout the game, 1.Cheesehead drink for free. Your ticket is drawn and you drink for free until the Packers score again, then they draw for the next person. 2. Trinket time. Your ticket is pulled you go the a table with small gifts and choose one. 3. Wheel Spin. Your ticket is drawn and the spin the wheel to see what you win. Possiblly $100.00. 4. Wear Packer garb to win a prize. Have several TV's on the bar side and a 10ft projection screen on the dining room side. Saturdays are Steak night with the last Saturday of the month being Prime Rib. We had heard boxcars had awesome prime rib so we thought we would try it last night 2/14/17 that was a BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! The food was awesome the service was AWFUL!!!!! We have been there before and vowed we wouldn't come back because of the service. Well of course we got the same girl/lady as our server.
