the store itself is fine but the pin board for in store trading needs to stop. I was treated very poorly when I asked to trade after purchasing pins. I was trading an authentic Loungefly pin for a different loungefly pin the staff made me feel like I was being shady and trading fake pins. The employee who got the board down had me wait to ask the employee next to her if it was a good pin. I know people trade fakes but my pin was 100% real. The whole thing was very rude and embarrassing Because it was in front of other customers. If you are going to treat your customers like criminals then stop the in store trading! This makes me not want to comeback to this store ever again read more

Stopped in here today 8/9 at 3:30. Though we didn't purchase anything (here for specific school stuff) I wanted to give a shoutout to Daylen (sorry if I got the spelling wrong). There were at least 5 employees in the store and he was the only one I saw while there actively greeting customers and giving a rundown of specific sales also bringing attention to the clearance at the back. Talk about a store filled with incompetent individuals. Who ever manages their Instagram needs to be more on par especially on a slow day like Monday. If you have an item that is sold out (or all on HOLD) update. So you don't have people rush to the store all hopeful. Most importantly IF YOUR HOLD POLICY CHANGES DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND INFORM THE CUSTOMER. Now if your going to lie, get your entire team on board so you don't sound like a bunch of idiots. Apparently there new HOLD POLICY indicates you can requests a hold on any item in stock except for FUNKO POPS. I also called them out on Instagram and they blocked me. I have been in this store unfortunately 2 times. For reference I have been to the one in Temecula 100s of times. Today I came to pick up an online order. I asked to Exchange a bag with my receipt. I had used up all my rewards on this purchase. Well the manager she claimed she was told me the bag was worth what I paid. I asked her if I get a bag the same cost, and to cut it short the manager was not trying to accommodate until I mentioned my order, I made an online order for 5 Loungefly bags. They are rude I decided I didn't want her to do me any favors. She was acting like she owned the store . Don't go here I will never step foot there again. place where i can find so much cute items! i was on the hunt for pumpkin head dwight . after going to 2 other box lunch , 2 hot topics this was my last stop. i was searching the wall, when i was approached from one the worker asking if she can help find one. i asked about pumpkin dwight she actually helped me look for it which was with no success on the wall. she approached another lady seemed to be the manager hopped on a computer and went to the back ... and booom their he was pimpkin dwight .. love it!!!!!! read more

Even more funny how this store has reviews for telling ppl to wear their mask properly and ppl saying that they where. Y'all need to check your employees to be respectful or maybe even open your damn eyes. I will be calling corporate Came from out of town to see what funkos they had. Stepped 3 steps inside walked past a worker and then walked past a heavy set Hispanic dude who also works here who basically said very out loud for me to wear my mask over my nose??? I love this store. It's like Hot Topic but more open and less stressful. They got Marvel, DC, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, disney, Walking Dead, Pops, Dragon Ball, Hello Kitty, Star Wars. Every 10 dollar you spend will provide a meal to a person in need! I might be providing over 10 meals shopping at this store! This a great store with a great crew! read more

Came here just before they closed. One of the previous reviewers is right, it's like a Hottopic, but brighter and better laid out. We looked around the store and found a great deal with their clearance. Buy one get two, we used it on some clearance backpacks and saved over $50! The staff is very friendly and they have a good selection of items. I think I would rather go here than Spencer's or Hottopic. read more

Well I had a great experience here today. I was looking for a Maleficent backpack or an Up backpack. I couldn't find either one, but I found a Stitch one for my sister instead. The employees were super cheerful and helpful. Andrea was my cashier and she was great about letting me know the promos that were going on in store, so I got the most bang for my buck. Usually this is one of my go to stores for anything Disney, I bought the Loungefly wall e purse from here, the one on display at that time had a snag in it so I asked if there any in the back. The employee told me it was just the 1 on the floor. A few seconds later another employee actually looked it up for me and told me they had several in the back. So is it lack of training or laziness? Today I called asking about the up mini backpack the employee told me they haven't gotten it yet and to check their Instagram account for when it arrives, I then informed the employee it was posted yesterday to their account it arrived. She said she didn't see any on the floor so they must be out. Well are you really out? You just told me a few seconds ago you hadn't received it yet even though I told you you had. Staff was not friendly. I came in wearing my mask the appropriate way, covering both my nose and mouth, and one of the workers scolded at me to keep my mask on properly when there was no need. It's really sad because I love Box Lunch so much, but this experience makes me never want to go again. read more

I received a coupon through my email and came to the store to redeem it. Got two shirts and when I try to use my coupon it wouldn't work. Albert and the store manager went the extra mile and called the main store to let them know it wasn't working. They finally were able to get it to work. I called This Riverside branch in regards to a product that they will be selling at BoxLunch in the next few days. Very typical call, a customer service representative answered the call very nicely and ask me what can she help me with. So I went on and ask her when you think this product will be arriving? She said "I am sorry we don't know" so I went on and asked her if she could look in the system to see maybe it is shipped and it's on its way to their store. She went on and said "sorry we can't check" I ask her if there is a Manager I can talk to maybe she might have more answers. She put me on a very short hold and the Manager Mari got on the phone with me. She was trying to be very professional and told me "I do apologize be we don't know have a way to look that up, just check our Instagram when we post it a day before that's how our customers know about our products" So I told her that is very strange (weird) because I just spoke to the Temecula branch and they told me that that product was shipped to them on the 17th and try to come to our store to purchase the product on Monday or maybe Tuesday". She went on a said "Well we are not that store and we cannot not check for you" I told her "So aren't in the same district as Temecula Boxlunch? They just help with this request, I am not asking for a lot, I am just asking for you to check your system" She didn't reply back "We are busy right now and won't be able to check for you" I ask her "OK, when can I call you to ask you? (keep in mind I had called that other branch and they gave me the information with in less than 5 min), she said "I don't know when you can call we are busy, maybe you can call back Monday or maybe Tuesday I really can't tell you when to call back". So I said "OK do you have the Corporate number I can call maybe they might have an idea when that product will arrive?" she said "No, you could go on the Internet and get that phone number". All in all I felt that this service was non informative Customer Service and I never experience that type of customer Service at BoxLunch. This store just opened, and I already love it. Customer service is fantastic. They offered to hold onto our handful of items for us while we continued to shop around (we had a shirt, messenger bag and pop vinyl figure). The store was very clean and orderly, and it's easy to find what you are looking for. Every $10 you spend goes towards feeding a person in need, so that's pretty cool. You can also earn "Lunch Money", which is pretty much Hot Cash, if you are familiar Hot Topic (owned by the same company). For those who aren't familiar, it's pretty much a coupon for a certain amount of money off if you spend x amount of money or more, between given dates. It's a really good deal, as they are good for half off the minimum amount required (ex. $25 off a purchase of $50 or more). You earn them when you spend a certain amount, but I'm not sure the exact amount. I would also like to add, this store is very open and bright. It does carry similar merchandise as HotTopic, again same company, but it has a much more appealing atmosphere. It's not dark, and it'd far more open. It's just a better shopping experience. So if you're someone who doesn't like to shop in HotTopic because of its atmosphere, you will probably enjoy BoxLunch. Walked in this store for the first time, wanting to purchase an item they had on display a while back. Only one guy came up to me to ask if I needed help. When I told him what I came in for, he looked for it and told me they were sold out. Asked if they had it online, he asked these 2 girls who were standing behind the counter and the girl with bright red lipstick (might been one of the manager) told me to wait a moment with an attitude. I waited. And waited, while these 2 girls were checking how much they made for the day while there were customers waiting in line to be helped. Then the girl with the bright red lipstick looks to the guy and tells him no they dont have it online, ignoring me, while I'm standing right in front of her. That's ridiculous! I've worked retail and always knew that customers come first no matter what you're working on. This 1 star is just for the guy who actually helped. Those 2 girls need some customer service training. Especially the one with the bright red lipstick. Will not be returning. Horrible customer service. read more

Came in today at around 4, grabbed a few items, and I walk up to the cash register. There was only one staff near a cash register. I asked if she was open she said no not right now. I stood there in confusion. She did not state whether or not someone else can help me. A few minutes later she opens another cash register. She states there's another person before me (Okay gurl, at least lmk you'll be right with me or something customer service 101). Afterwards, she helps me doesn't say anything but the total. They Re-Sell USED open items! I bought a stitch cookie jar that was chipped in a lot of places and already opened and sold it at full price. Called the store and the lady said they would have to order a new one wait till it comes in for me to drive all the way back to do an exchange. I'm just going to make the best of the cookie jar. After calling corporate customer service for the 3rd time, I was finally called back with some good news. The same clerk that I had been dealing with at the store told me they "went above and beyond" to get my gift card replaced, saying they had to get some extra help from another department to get access to the gift card number....I'm pretty sure they just had no clue what they were doing until someone finally told them how to help me. I'm glad they were able to get the card replaced, but this was still pretty ridiculous. read more

Love the service here.. Awesome selection of Funko pop figures... I actually first visited their store in Kentucky at the Mall of ST Matthews, great mall by the way, I spoke to the cashier there and he told me they have a store closer to where I live.. right in my back yard. Needless to say I picked up a few pop figures at both and also the cutest Winder Woman luggage tag that I was hating myself I didn't get in Kentucky.. Ah! Love this place. I can never get over the nostalgia whenever I'm in here. I just want to buy everything when I come into this store. Customer service in store and they're main customer service for online orders is awesome. Recently ordered something online just to receive it with a malfunction so I exchanged it in store. When I got home I realized the one I exchanged it for was broken so I called they're main customer service number, and since the item I got was very popular, they were out of stock and she gave me the option of getting something else for the same price or keeping the defective item and giving me a refund. So I kept it, got my money back, turned out to be a quick easy fix and I got two $15 off $30 which I can combine and get $30 off of $60. If you're a fan of Hot Topic but feel like it's too grungy or punk, then you'll like this place. I would say it's the hipster Hot Topic or a modern day Hot Topic. Just need one in San Diego!!! read more

Thanks to to the girl that sold the "suppose" only chase Zero in stock to her friend that works in the food court. She could have sold it to one of the people that were waiting in the store for hours. Nope she sold it to her friend the second she walked in and asked for it.While she told everyone else that was waiting that she was not allowed to go to the back and look for the chase, but she was able to when her friend walked in and asked for it. Instead of finding it and selling to the first person that had arrived hours ago and asked, she did a drawing with papers and let her friend pick first and still ended up picking the only slip that said sold. I just want to thank you for being so honest to the people that help you keep that job you have by buying items from your store and putting money to your corporates office.
