I rarely leave reviews, but the rudeness of the staff here has crossed the line into dangerous carelessness. They were offended when I asked about possible allergens in the donuts, claiming there were no nuts. I'm glad I double checked before giving to my allergic toddler, because there were clearly walnuts on top. Cute, quaint place in downtown Summit. Parking can be difficult but it's a safe town to walk around in so that's fine. Staff was nice and baristas were quick to make drinks and get our orders out. It gets busy here - it's a great place to catch up with a friend! Tables are awfully close together but still oddly comfortable and inviting. Decor is super cute and love how some tables are wood and some are marble - it's quite charming. They have a couple of comfortable lounge chairs and looks especially cozy in the fall and winter seasons. Love the bright atmosphere. The coffee is fabulous! The latte wasn't too sweet - just the way I like it and perfectly frothy. Tastes different from coffee at large chains - in a good way. Their teas are beautifully fragrant as well and their chai tea latte is strong, unlike other places I've been. Their pastries aren't bad - I ordered a blueberry thingy. Kinda chalky and not too memorable but the coffee makes up for it. Docked a star because the prices are way too high; maybe even higher than Starbucks which is right across the street. Nice decor, friendly staff, and great options for coffee and hot coco. The only thing I felt was lacking was cleanliness. The seats and table were crumby and sticky so I moved to the yellow sofa seat which had dirty napkins wedged into it. Aside from those options, the rest were hogged up with people putting their bags and stuff on the table next to them and the table meant for 6, was hogged by one person with his stuff sprawled. If you're looking for the best cappuccino in the area, look no further. Sarah (or maybe Sara) made the best cappuccino, and arguably the coolest latte art, I've seen come out of this coffeehouse. Outside of the amazing barista staff, the design of this small coffee shop is awesome. It gets busy, so it isn't always easy to find seating, but it's worth the wait if you want to sit down and drink your coffee or have some work to do and want to get outside the office or home. Good Cafe but at the front counter is a "Wellness Bar" which has no price posted which should have, as it costs $6.00.. Warning other than that this supposedly wellness bar is not healthy at all as it is killer sweet and I really found it uneatable. The Boxwood owners just could not have tasted these things and approved. The one I picked was Date,Almond & Apricot or something like that and it really basically tasted like mashed Medjool Dates which have been engineered to be the most unbearablely sweet dates ever created. This place has all the ambience you'd expect from a small, local corner coffee house. Lots of people having conversations or working on their laptops. But their coffee--or at least the latte's I've had there--is just stellar. How the Starbucks down the street stays in business with Boxwood this close is a sad testament to the chain-bastardization of our culture. Good coffee. Unbelievably slow service. There's no reason an espresso shot should take 10 min when I'm the only one there. This happens all the time. Doesn't matter how much you tip. This is the 3rd time I've walked in 10 min prior to my train, ordered a double shot, been the only one there, and have to ditch so I can grab the train. This will be the last time I ever try to do that. And since the only time I go is before the train then I guess it's safe to say Boxwood has lost a customer due to its incredibly slow service. read more

After a total fail of a coffee in Millburn, hubby pulled over in Summit, and bam! Here we are. First time here. Place is large and probably looked much different pre-pandemic with tables and chairs. Now there's only one table, a banquet, and plenty of social distancing space. Modern vibe, lots of treats behind the glass to pick from--plenty, if not all the ones I noticed, were GF!! Fantastic! Treated myself to a chocolate brownie then, and an almond milk latte. There was a wall of trinkets: coffee mugs and other paraphernalia that coffee lovers want and need. Around Christmas time, these trinkets come in handy as stocking stuffers, I guess. Back to the coffee... hot. Very hot. Usually, I'm not used to my lattes being that hot. Tasted good. I wish it was more frothy. The gf brownie was ok: plenty sweet. As in, you only need a little bite, and perhaps the rest will last for the next week--something very unlike me, because I usually finish my chocolaty treats in one sitting. They have some excellent coffee and also some other interesting twists like Persian Rose tea and Green Tea Latte with Vanilla and Cardamom. They have non milk options which I also appreciate. The service is excellent and they truly do make your food and drink to order, in particular I asked for them to go lightly and they did exactly that. The establishment is clean ,very hip, and modern. The baristias are very kind and helpful. Very positive vibe. The coffee was good too . It has a nutty/sweet taste with alot of acidity. My friend ordered their tea, which came in a small french press, very cute and instagram-worthy. However, the taste was lacking so it was all presentation. I ordered a coffee, which was sour and acidic. There seems to be only one outlet for the entire cafe, not very conducive to patrons working. Was in summit for a day and wanted coffee. So glad I found this gem! We tried their ice coffee and single origin 'forget me not' (they have lots of single origins!). The acidity is right and not too strong perfect to my taste. Indoor seating area is also very nice and chic, lots of seats where you can just work/read/chill. I've been looking for a coffee shop that serves small lot, single origin coffees in Fort Lauderdale and I haven't been able to find one quite like this. When I saw the coffee menu and the barista doing a pour-over, I knew I was in the right place. The interior of the coffee shop is very modern. They have metallic furniture, dark wood floors, and an exposed metal vent on the ceiling. They also have some really nice exposed brick on the walls. The menu is written in chalk above the cash register. So, you know it's liable to change. I wanted to try a pour-over, so I selected the tres santos from Columbia. They say that this coffee has sweet raisin, cocoa, cranberry, apple flavors. I definitely tasted the raisin, cocoa and cranberry, but not so much the apple. It had a nice acidity to it. This coffee did not have an overwhelming body, but it had a relatively full flavor. I really enjoyed it. They also sell whole beans from small farmers in different parts of the world; mostly from Africa and South America. They have harvest dates, as well as roast dates on the bags. I haven't seen both dates on a bag of coffee beans before. They were very recent roast dates to boot! I may try to stop in and get some beans to bring home with me to Florida before I leave. read more

This place is so desperate for validation and tries to achieve a cool hipster status. However, not much ch can be said about a coffee shop that is unable to serve you a 'medium' cup of coffee. Highly over priced; I asked the lady to get me a medium cup of pour over and to my amazement she responded that she only knows to make a small cup. Most food has poor serving sizes and is fantastically overpriced. Generally much more expensive than NYC for average quality food. read more

Love the inviting atmosphere and decor! First time I came here, I had the nitro. I'm not the type to drink my coffee black; but I make an exception for a good cold brew. The nitro brew was smooth and bright so I enjoyed every drop. Tonight, I stopped in for a latte after having dinner. Got it with almond milk, and it was smooth and creamy. After recently transferring to a new location for work I was in a bit of a rut since I couldn't find my new go to coffee spot! I'm glad to announce that I have finally found it! There's nothing like authentic espresso!! My lattes& mochas have been so smooth and creamy! My baked goods specifically the chocolate chip cookie and brownie have been moist and heavenly!! I am looking forward to going back to try out their macaroons and a hot chocolate today !! The price is reasonable considering what your getting !! Don't get me started on the decor is is extraordinary! Is up to date and trendy but also comfortable which is important for my fellow students who are looking for a place to get homework done !
