Our guide said the rapids were more like Class III - I think this is typical later summer? But our boys are enthusiasts and want to go again (but more of Class IV) - it was pretty mild, but like I said, great 1st experience. Quick drive from Town Center in Big Sky - like 10 minutes. Do your waiver and payment on-line for seamless check-in. It was a nice day with obviously cold water - we didn't rent any special gear, and were totally fine. Water starts to feel good (at least if you have a nice day like we did). Wear your Teva's or water shoes! About a 20 minute drive to where you take off. Hope for a great guide - we had Kyle and he made our trip exceptional. We were going through dips and "whitewater" that other rafts were passing by. He was very experienced, had a great personality and had a lot of knowledge about the surroundings. Thanks Kyle!! Return is roughly 35 minutes back, where you can view your photos. The photographers are phenomenal, but pricey - $125 for all the digitals. There is an option to choose 1 or 3 photos, but there are so many great pic's, you'll want them all! Don't forget to bring cash to tip your guide - if you forget (like we did), you can Venmo. Great times.

We got the wet suits and booties which was only like $7/person total. I'd highly recommend getting it. Kept us warm. We did that Level 3-4. My kids are 16 and 19 and loved every bit and want to do it again. I felt like the level 3-4 was doable though we had some close calls. Out of the 6 raft's no one went over. Theses guides are skilled. The time is exhilarating and serene at the same time. You get to to tip your guide after. We also choose to get a digital photo which the photographer does an incredible job capturing our moments. After you get to enjoy some of the best hot chocolates in town or coffee. This establishment is legit. It's a bit pricey after everything is done but so worth the experience with the family!

We recently completed a tour with this group. We were are part of the saddle and paddle. Horseback…read moreriding in the morning with lunch in between and rafting 8 miles in the afternoon. Check in and directions were easy and every single person was delightful. Once we made our way up to the horseback riding ranch we were ready to ride. It was fun. However the guides for at the ranch were not very friendly. They did not really give great instructions prior to riding. There were several inexperienced riders who could have benefited from a few extra minutes of support and directions. Another negative was the group of riders was way too large. They should break up the large groups into smaller ones. Our group had over 30ppl. Got separated from my spouse during horse selection. It was chaos. They should consider breaking the groups up into experience and who cam together. Felt bad my spouse was chosen last and I had been on my horse for a good 10 minutes. Overall I would not suggest this portion of the tour unless they committed to making groups smaller and more interactive with guides. They didnt really talk to us or give and local facts or interesting things about the area. Disappointing. The older lady at the ranch also got sparky when I asked if I could take my water with me. Her response "why do you need water it's only a hour ride, jeez just grab a saddle bag I guess. Just rude. Then when getting off the horse she was smacking it in the face while I was still on it. Just not the greatest experience.

Wonderful 3 generation trip with Wild West Rafting. For the 8 of us, we had a private all day…read morerafting trip. Going in late summer, the rapids and water levels were perfect for the grandkids ages 7-11. They were able to paddle and "ride the bull" in front of the boat. We had water fights with the other boats in the group, pass the football from boat to boat and float in the water with our life jackets in calm water. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. Wild West Rafting is organized. Our rafting guide was terrific! Scenery was beautiful.

My 10 year old was nervous in the beginning but Chiara's skills were reassuring so she moved to the edge of the boat and felt confident enough help to paddle a few times. The highlight of our whole trip down the river was watching a large group of elk cross right before us. Amazing! 1 star. I would strongly caution others before renting from Big Boys Toys - and specifically the…read moreowner, Ethan. Our group rented a 4-seater and three individual quads on August 8. We were specifically told one quad would be a Yamaha, but instead received a different quad that repeatedly shut off during our ride. Based on our interactions with Big Boys Toys, it became apparent that they were already aware this equipment had been experiencing mechanical issues before it was rented to us. That quad eventually became completely inoperable. We immediately contacted Big Boys Toys and followed their instructions on where to leave it. We then had to arrange for someone with a personal vehicle to retrieve the stranded rider. During that process, a second one of our three individual quads also became inoperable. At that point, two of the three quads we rented had broken down, we lost a significant portion of our rental time, and we ultimately had to end the outing early. The personal vehicle used to retrieve our stranded riders also sustained scratches and wheel damage. I contacted Big Boys Toys afterward requesting a refund given everything that happened. Instead, they charged us an additional $260 to retrieve the malfunctioning vehicles. So, in summary: we were provided equipment that Big Boys Toys appeared to already know had mechanical issues, two of our three individual quads became inoperable, riders were left stranded, we had to use and damage a personal vehicle retrieving them, our outing was cut short, and we were then charged another $260 for Big Boys Toys to pick up their malfunctioning equipment. We have photos and videos documenting the equipment and what occurred. Equipment can break. What is unacceptable is renting equipment with known issues and then making the customer pay hundreds of dollars more when that equipment fails. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Big Boys Toys. The owner Ethan is unethical for not only renting out known malfunctioned equipment, but then charging the customer for it. Stay away from this spot.

We rented the Hatch Rubicon Poptop for a long weekend and it was the greatest thing ever for…read morecamping. My wife and I loved how easy it was to pop up the top (seriously takes 5 seconds to put up and take down) without the hassle of needing to tow a trailer. It was also plenty warm in the top at night, and we loved being able to store our gear in the cab that we could access without needing to get out. The Jeep was super clean and we really appreciated the cooler and folding chairs that Alyssa had in the Jeep all ready for us when we picked up the car. We didn't need to do any offroad driving but the Jeep handled great on the roads, even at highway speed. Thanks a ton Hatch for a great experience, can't wait to use one of these sweet setups again in the future.

Our group had a six year old and he was so accommodating, taught him the ropes and let him guide us when the water was smooth, he really enjoyed that! We did get some excitement (and a taste of reality); we helped the other raft in our group collect some paddles after "The Boat Eater" got them. Our guides and the safety guide moved into action fast and demonstrated an amazing team effort. The river has some great spots, nothing too extreme, though our Canadian friends may say otherwise and a lot of smooth, easy areas. Lunch was good, just some easy sandwiches and snacks. I liked that wet suits, jackets, and water shoes were included, they definitely came in handy. Pictures are available for a reasonable price. Overall, would definitely recommend YRC anytime!!

I'll start by saying this was one of the best tours we have ever been on, and I do not say that…read morelightly. If I could give our guide, Elena, infinity stars, I would. When you book (and you absolutely must), ask for Elena. She was not only an absolute joy to be around, but she is incredibly knowledgeable. She knew exactly where to go and when based on the weather, and she is a true expert in all things Yellowstone: the wildlife, the thermal features, the geology, the history. I could go on and on. My husband and I were celebrating my 50th birthday the day of our tour, and I could not have asked for a more magical day. We were a little nervous since it was shoulder season, but those worries disappeared the moment we got started. From the first stop to the last, it was nothing short of spectacular. We were fortunate to see an incredible amount of wildlife throughout the day, but two moments stood out above the rest. First, watching a herd of bison, including a precious newborn calf, was breathtaking. Then came the showstopper: a bear emerging from hibernation. Elena spotted what looked like a tiny dot on a distant cliffside, sprinted to her vehicle to grab a telescope, and within minutes we were watching that bear in real time. It was one of those moments you genuinely cannot believe you are witnessing. That brings me to another wonderful perk of this tour. In addition to the binoculars provided to each guest, the guides carry high-powered telescopes they set up quickly and effortlessly, so you can truly see the wildlife up close. It makes a world of difference. This is a tour we will never forget, and we are already planning to come back in the summer with our daughter. You better believe we will be requesting Elena. You can tell she loves every single thing about what she does, and she is all heart. Five stars is not enough. One million stars, minimum.
