Bozeman Spirits Distillery is a must-see stop if you are in the area. It is located in Bozeman's historic district. When you step inside the distillery doors you feel like you have stepped into Bozeman's past. The distillery is located in an old saloon that is very welcoming. When we entered two staff members behind the bar gave us the distillery's full story. They were very friendly and informative. At the back of the saloon, you can peer into the production space and see their two stills. An Artisan 300 Gallon Traditional Copper Pot Still, and an Arnold Holstein Copper Pot Still. The Distillery produces Whiskey, Vodka, Gin & Rum with all of the spirits distilled and bottled on site. You can enjoy a signature craft cocktail or a flight of their spirits. We tried a sampling of their spirits. I loved their huckleberry-infused vodka and gin. Their gin was a stand out for me. Very well done. We bought a bottle to take home. Unfortunately, that bottle never made it out of the RV we rented. We forgot it under the seat! I hope someone enjoyed it. Their website says they will be selling in Texas soon. I hope so! I haven't written a review on Yelp for years but felt compelled to do so after my last experience at this place. I tried to contact the owners so I could just email them but apparently they are as bad at social media as their bartenders are at customer service. My wife, two friends, and I came in the Friday before Valentines Day. It was packed and the time was 7:35. They close at 8:00. We luckily secured a table and had our drinks ordered by 7:40. After waiting for 10 minutes our waitress comes over and says: "The bartender looked at you guys and she doesn't think you can finish your drinks before 8:00 so she's not going to make them for you. Sorry, but we are about to call 'Last Call'." Excuse me? You won't serve us drinks, however, you are still going to call 'Last Call'? I couldn't even believe it. I don't think I've ever been to a place, especially in Bozeman, that blatantly refused to offer anyone service when it was still in their power to do so. I can understand if we walked in at 7:55 but we had plenty of time to receive our drinks from a competent bartender. I have been here a few times before this and it was always mediocre, but that's the only reason for the extra star. Again, I would've preferred to email the owners and not put this out publicly but they don't seem to have an email address. read more

This was our first time in Bozeman, and we stopped in to Bozeman Spirits for pre dinner cocktails. We tried four different drinks on their menu and all of them were delicious. Chris was an excellent bartender and attentive to our needs, always making sure we had a drink and enjoyed it. I went today and there were quite a few people inside of the bar. Jenny and Lindsey were working. (I discovered the bartenders' names by actively listening). We must have waited for somebody to take our drink order for about 10 minutes. Jenny appeared busy taking orders while Lindsey was making a mixed drink. More people came in and still nobody asked what we wanted. After that 10 minutes, I saw Lindsey take a sip from the drink she was making. All of us sat there waiting for our orders to be taken while she making herself a mixed drink. Great customer service! 30 minutes later, right before closing, another girl walks in that Jenny and Lindsey know. Lindsey and this girl start talking and this girl said it was busy for just the two of them working. Lindsey tells her, along with making the money gesture by rubbing her fingers together, that it's okay because they'll make a lot of money from tips. She said this in front of 6 customers. Totally unprofessional. And to top the night, a guy had two dogs in the bar. One of them took a massive crap next to a table where a guy and his lady were sitting. The owner of the dogs had no idea that Jenny cleaned it up, but the smell gagged everybody inside. It was totally gross and unsanitary. I'll never come back! Props to Jenny though. I hope my tip goes to her because Lindsey deserved none! read more

I love their storefront / tasting room concept. My wife wanted to pick up some Top shelf vodka .... instead I talked her into trying the huckleberry vodka. After a sample taste we were sold. What a refreshing change from the dusty shelf liquor store. read more

I have been here a few times and like the spirits, especially the old fashioneds, but I was there with my mother recently who can't drink. I asked the bartender if she could make a drink without alcohol for her, and she said sure . . . and then still charged me full price for her drink, which was $8. Since there were people waiting to order as I paid, I didn't want to make an issue of it, but I've never been in a place that did that. Obviously I expected to pay for the drink, but $8 for a non-alcoholic drink? I think I'll go to Dry Hills or Wildrye Distilling (which also has better bourbon) next time,which are the other two Bozeman distilleries. read more

How can you go wrong with anything made from Huckelberry ? Great service. Good strong drinks. I had the Huckleberry heart tasted more like a desert than a drink. Great interior, terrific patio if you want to sit outside. Looking forward to comeing back on my next trip to Bozeman. read more

I've only been to White Dog Brewing next door and I will never go back there after going to Bozeman Spirits! The cocktails are fairly priced, delicious, and they always have a special priced drink. I went here twice during my trip to Montana. Both times I got a Montana Mule. First time I would give the drink 4 out of 5 stars. Second time 3 out of 5 stars. Not sure if I wasn't in the mood or if it wasn't made as well, but I ended up giving it to my friend to finish. With that said, it's a cool place to check out. They have lots of fun cocktail options and the staff is really friendly. Since it is technically a tasting room instead of a bar, you are limited to 2 oz of alcohol per day there, so plan for it to be a stop on your journey vs a place to post up at for a while. read more

The drinks are ok, but the service is very bad. Can you hire bartenders with a little bit of personality and good customer service. We have been there a few times, they seem to sit and stare at the customers it seems so unwelcoming. This place is amazing. The friendly bartender made our night! I loved the Huckleberry Mule and the Bloody Mary was divine. I split my time between Bozeman and Las Vegas and I was surprised that the tasting room closed at 8:00 pm, especially because Las Vegas is a 24 hour city. However, unlike another reviewer, I completely understand that all drinks must be finished and taken away by 8:00 pm or else the business could get in trouble. No joke. I find it shameful that someone would penalize a small business in a Yelp review when they are just protecting their business. This is not the intention of Yelp.
