No such luck. Waitresses passing back and forth with one standing at a nearby table talking to the customer while drinking water. Bland, poor quality steak and bad service. We ordered the "chips and cheese" appetizer and then it came without the cheese. So we asked for the cheese (the waitress acted like it didn't come with it and she had to special request it from the kitchen) and then the waitress charged us for it even though it clearly stated "served with cheese". I ordered the New York strip steak (supposedly rated best steak in town) and it was more "Perkins" type quality (with a $27 price tag). Ate there twice during a recent stay in Buffalo. First time I got the buffalo burger which was a decent hamburger but not sure it was worth the premium over a beef burger. Second time I got the beef and bean burrito which was better than I expected. I'm from AZ and always hesitate getting Mexican food outside of the southwest. The service was inconsistent, however, I had no problems with it. The service was a bit slow but I like to take my time while dining and not get rushed out. read more

We went for dinner last night & started by being served very flat beers, our food was tasteless, & as soon as the waitress put our dinner plates on the table she handed us our ticket before we'd even started eating & told us to pay when we were finished. If your looking for a steakhouse and are on a budget, this is the place for you. I've been coming here just about once a month since I made the move out to Buffalo Wyoming. Great service with a kitchen that can turn an order just as fast as a fast food restaurant. You have the option of sitting at a bar or at a table/ booth. Oh and their homemade ranch dressing is the the best thing ever. If your in Buffalo WY, the BozemanTrail Steakhouse is a must stop. read more

Good family restaurant but not a "steak house" in the terms of a high quality steak house. Rib eye $26.00, was good but not best quality. One end was medium as I order, other end rare. Fat in center that was still white. Baked potato was really small. Server was nice and helpful. She informed me the loaded potato had nacho cheese sauce so I left it off. They need to heat plates. On our way to Montana we stopped in Buffalo for a night. We found the Bozeman Trail Steakhouse for dinner in town. The restaurant was comfortable and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Our meals were good and overall it was a good place to grab a nice meal. read more

We ate in the bar side the service was good the steaks are like eating at a fast food place, but I do say they were cooked to order. My side was loaded mashed potatoes which had been setting so long they were all dried out. read more

We enjoyed this place. Menu has a variety of chicken and fish as well as 6-8 steak entree choices. Sandwiches and salads also offered. Server was quick, apologetic when things came out in wrong order. But after 600 miles on the road, you really don't care. Food had great flavor, prices reasonable. Will stop again! read more

Do not recommend this place. My husband and I stopped in for dinner. I ordered a taco salad and he ordered the Bozeman burger. They brought my salad and a completely wrong meal for my husband. When the waitress finally came back we notified her of the mistake she double checked and yes it was not what he ordered she put the wrong thing in the computer. She took the meal back to the kitchen and finally after ten minutes returned to let us know it was her mistake. By this time I'm done eating, so we ask for his meal to be put in a box, waitress returns again (no meal yet) lets us know the manager offered a 10% discount (so like a dollar) we are still waiting for his food. We finally walk to the front to pay for my salad and drink and then they try to hand us and charge us for his burger. We said we've been waiting too long we don't want it. The manager calls us "a pain in the ass" totally unprofessional way to handle a mistake your server made. read more

After a long day of driving, we really wanted a nice meal. We got mixed results at Bozeman's. My wife loved her western barbecue burger and said it was cooked perfectly. My daughter ordered the cloud trail sandwich and thought it was alright--however, she enjoyed the sweet potato fries she got with it more than the sandwich itself. I ordered the spinach chicken, and wasn't too pleased. It was not seasoned well and the spinach cream sauce was very runny. In addition, the loaded potato I got with it was stone cold. My husband and I stayed the night in town an decided to try this steakhouse. I had the surf and turn. The shrimp was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. My husband had the chicken steak dinner and he really liked it. Overall a great meal with super customer service. read more

Terrible! I ordered the peel and eat shrimp, absolutely the worst meal I've ever had. What made that even worse, the manager was rude and condescending. Even nearby tables couldn't believe how awful she was. The steaks are mediocre, the burger was overcooked. The only decent item was the kids popcorn shrimp (they are the frozen premade ones) just shows how awful everything else was. Don't waste your money here. Without a.doubt the worst meal I have had in years. I drive a truck all over the country and would have expected that getting a steak in Buffalo Wyoming would be s great experience. Not! The dinner salad was for sure sitting in a cooler for hours (maybe days) before I got it. The steak, a petite sirloins wrapped in bacon was either frozen fo a long time or was perhaps horse meat. Really, really bad. I had eaten at Outback Steakhouse a few nights earlier and thought I would go get a "real" steak. I looked at the menu online and thought that at these prices this must be good food! Turns out that my Outback meal was much better, if you can believe that. And for half the price! The food was great and our waiter allowed substitutions for me so I was really thankful. The atmosphere was really fun and everyone was so kind to our family, I really felt welcomed. I'm not sure why the ratings are so low for this place. This was one of the few places open on a Sunday in this region, so we gave it a shot on our way home to Ohio from Yellowstone. Everything was great. We had a party of 9 and had no problems being seated very quickly. All of our meals were prompt, correct and very tasty. We ordered a takeout from this restaurant so we weren't able to observe and experience the inside service. With that said, when ordering and picking up our food the service was friendly and warm and our food took about 20 minutes to finish. The dish I would most likely recommend is the pasta. The country fried steak is supposed to be a speciality - ordered it and didn't find it especially appetizing. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the dish, but rather it was somewhat bland and just a massive piece of chicken smothered with white gravy. The main entrees come with two sides, which is a plus; however, there isn't necessarily a plethora of items to choose from. Given the location of Buffalo and the real lack of variety in options, this restaurant is okay. Wouldn't necessarily recommend, but if you wanted to go I would steer you away. Don't be prepared to be amazed at all though. read more

I don't ever like to leave a bad review, but considering the circumstances, I thought I should this time. Being that the location of this restaurant is across from a campground, it seems they would expect to have campers as a big percentage of their business. After driving over 500 miles yesterday, we were really tired and hungry. We saw that this restaurant was open until 9:00, so we hurried across the street to make it just in the nick of time (actually with 5 minutes to spare)! Well, as soon as we walked to the booth (not even fully seated yet) we were "greeted" by a very rude waitress (Stephani) who slapped the menus down on the table and said, "we close in 5 minutes, what do you want to drink?" We understand that as a worker, a new party (of just 2), may be a little disappointing, but there are open hours for a reason-and we were there within those hours. We ordered as soon as she brought our drinks and were actually done and leaving before several other parties. Not to mention, as we waited for our food, we watched as other customers interacted with the other waitress, talking and laughing with her, realizing we definitely sat in the wrong section. So, I guess this review is just to maybe warn weary travelers to avoid this place if it's near closing time, or perhaps just be prepared to be treated like you made someone work on their time off. There aren't many restaurant choices at this exit, but I did notice another steakhouse just a couple blocks down the street, which may be a friendlier choice if you want to leave Wyoming with a good feeling. Would rate it negative 10. Terrible food. Took 1 hour 10 minutes to receive food. Then didn't get the food I ordered! Daughter's steak was overcooked. I ordered beef medallions and received elk medallions. I did not eat the elk meat. Wanted beef but was told it would take ANOTHER hour just to get it. I was charged for the elk meat, ($7 higher than beef). Waiter apologized. He got us a free dessert. So for potato, salad, and free cheesecake they wanted to charge me $27. Manager came out, never spoke a word to me. Changed the elk meat price to beef price. No apology, NOTHING. I would not recommend a glass of water here. read more

I've eaten at this place several times. Staff is friendly, but the food is unremarkable. I usually order Chicken Fried Steak and consider myself an expert critic (okay, that may sound weird when discussing CFS) but I've had that particular item all over the country and most are just pre-breaded with crumbs and not very good. Same went for here. The sides are okay, and if you're watching the budget, it is certainly a good choice for lunch or dinner. Horrible food and even worse service. Our waitress must have suffered from amnesia because she screwed up both our orders, twice and acted like it was our fault. No steak knife for prime rib, never refilled our drinks, forgot basic order items after repeatedly asking. Food was awful. Unless you like frozen bag veggies that have been microwaved and plopped on your plate and microwaved bread. Do you know what happens to bread when you microwave it? Gagged down half of our meals only because we were starving after a full day of hunting. Charged $55 for the two if us. She asked us if we wanted boxes to take our left overs home. Ummm, no.
