The first thing you'll notice is the seemingly endless sea of gas pumps--fueling up is quick and easy, even when the place is busy. Once inside, it's much more than a gas station. It's a massive travel center packed with snacks, drinks, gifts, clothing, home décor, and just about anything else you could imagine needing (or not needing) on a road trip. The store is spotless, well-organized, and surprisingly easy to navigate despite its size. The real stars, though, are the food. The brisket sandwich is absolutely worth the hype--fresh, tender, smoky, and piled high. Don't leave without grabbing some of their fresh jerky, either. With so many flavors to choose from, it's easy to find a favorite. And then there are the bathrooms. I know it sounds strange to rave about a restroom, but Buc-ee's truly deserves the recognition. They are, without question, the cleanest public bathrooms I've ever used while traveling. That alone makes Buc-ee's a must-stop on any road trip. Even with the crowds, the employees are friendly, the checkout lines move incredibly fast, and the whole operation runs like a well-oiled machine. Whether you're stopping for gas, grabbing a meal, stocking up on snacks, or just stretching your legs, Buc-ee's has turned a routine pit stop into a destination. It's one of those places that actually lives up to the hype, and I'll happily stop every chance I get.

I was surprised to see them working on half the pumps yesterday~ this gas station seems to new to need that much work, but they are up to something! Because of the pumps being out- it makes it a little more interesting to get gas here- for the time being. I was able to pull right into a pump, but others were waiting for spots to free up to pull in. Prices here are a little higher than other stations around Jax- but I swear where, if it's near the interstate- it's hiked a few pennies! And this location is off 295. As far as grabbing gas- pumps are fast, it's painless to pump here! When they wrap up the construction it will be back to 4 star gas!!!

It's huge, sparkly, and the inside is oval shaped. Very cool! It's also open 24/7! There's everything you'd expect from a convenience store and more. Of course there's more... much more... otherwise it certainly wouldn't be getting five whole Yelpie stars! There hot food such as different kinds of hot dogs/sausages to choose from, tamales (beef and chicken - highly recommend both), and what they call "Tornados" which are basically like taquitos (they even have breakfast types in the morning). They have many types of cold sandwiches to choose from and fruit selections. Different types of slushies, and they even have a milkshake machine. The milkshake machine is really cool and they are actually really good. Here's a tip, if you get a milkshake, choose "thick thick." I got one for my husband and chose "thick think" to mess with him, but it was actually the perfect consistency. If I would have chosen either of the two "lower" selections, the milkshake would have been way too runny. Also, they have a Yobe Yogurt inside here. There's 8 different flavour machine and they have a toppings bar. Having a froyo craving at 3am? Well, now you have a place to get it! Amazaballs!! And before I forget, the various types of coffees they have here are just mind-boggling. You're certain to be able to find your perfect flavour. There's also the frap machine! Yay frap! This is definitely the future of the convenience store!

This is probably one of the worst gas stations I have ever had the displeasure of visiting in my…read moreentire life. Let me give you a rundown really quickly. To start off, when I walked in, there was already a spilled coffee near the left-side entrance that didn't have a wet floor sign on it; do you know how much of a safety hazard that is? Speaking of coffee, not only were the variations all horrendously overpriced, but two of the coffee bean variations were swapped compared to the actual labels on the dispensers; talk about false advertising! I went to try and get some dessert, but the dispensers for that weren't working either, and the ice within the bags had basically all but melted; you might as well have been selling pure water in a bag at that point. And don't even get me started on the absolutely astronomical gas prices at this location; I mean, seriously? Upwards of $4 a gallon? That's highway robbery......which is what I would say if it was actually affordable to drive on the highway right now, which it's not. On top of that, let me end this off with my restroom experience. Apparently, when I tried to use the restroom, the restroom was closed for cleaning......which would be fine, except that there were no obvious signs or posted labels indicating to me that the restroom was closed, or that there was someone currently even in the process of cleaning it to begin with! Imagine my surprise and shock when I walked in on the custodian in the middle of them cleaning the restroom......and they have the gall to get mad at me for "walking in on them", even though there was no clear sign that the restroom was closed for cleaning! I walked out of this gas station in an exponentially worse state than when I walked into it; at that point, I might as well have just relied on my own red Jerry cans at home, because I'm getting too old for this nonsense. "Gate Petroleum"? More like "Gate Pe-TROLL-eum", because I felt pretty trolled by the time my experience was done. If I could give this a negative rating, I would. But I can't, so I'm just going to settle for a one-star rating out of five. As for how they can probably improve......you could probably think of completely cutting off this location's funding, severing the underground gas lines, or just outright demolishing the establishment entirely and replacing it with something actually useful, like an Internet cafe. At least then, the prices would actually be halfway reasonable. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, and I hope you have a nice day! :D
