Quality of service is not measured by the service you receive while they are courting your new business, automated policy renewal or e-billing, flashy iPhone app, or an annual birthday greeting. Quality of service is measured by the level of service you receive in the moment of need. Braden Palmer Allstate Agency failed miserably. I have been an Allstate customer (Home, Auto, and Umbrella) for over 16 years. I started with Marilynn Kelly Agency where she setup all my policies. When she retired, my policies were transferred to Brad Palmer and then now to his son Braden Palmer. There were a few auto and/or driver changes to policies over the years. All done through emails, not a lot help needed. Recently I bought a new car and requested by email to add it to my policy. A few days later I got the updated policy and noticed the mileage rating was incorrect. First problem, no one called or emailed me to confirm the coverage before issuing the change. I guess it was easier just to click-click-click on the computer and call it done. Had they taken time to confirm the coverage with me, we could have headed off the problem right there together. The change had been issued already and it didn't matter anymore how it got to be incorrect. It didn't matter if it was wrong reporting, data entry error, etc. The "quality" service at that moment was how you are going for fix the problem. Second problem started when I contacted them to correct the mileage rating. I supplied all my odometer readings from actual auto repair invoices to start. I was told, "it takes a month to prove my mileage (thinking I am cheating), "it cannot be done that easily because it has to go through underwriting (thinking more work they have to do)", "you can do whatever your want (thinking tough luck for me for being Braden Palmer's customer". I came to learn later that it was as simple as removing the car and then adding it back. I ended up calling Allstate Corporate to 1) correct the mileage rating and 2) request a change of agency. The process to escalate the issue (explaining the problem) through Allstate Corporate office took a week and a few hours of my time at work. The actual fix took 5 minutes. Allstate Client Relation sent me a mileage verification form , I returned it, they forwarded it to underwriting, and finished. Wasn't that the job of my agent to solve problems and navigate through Allstate system? Hence my request to change agency. read more

Normally I just skip over 5 star reviews or discount them when I am researching online and I rarely ever give them out, but I will give out 5 stars in this case. I purchased a life insurance policy from these guys a couple weeks ago and it was a very smooth experience. Normally I don't take the time to write reviews but I thought I would this time. Most of my experiences with insurance agencies in the past were either forgettable or just unpleasant and irritating. That was not the case at all with Braden. He took care of me in a very professional and straightforward way. The whole process was very transparent and easy to work through.
