Used to love the veggie sandwich years ago as it WAS wonderful. Today I was excited to order it again but ended up very disappointed. Paid extra for avocado but only got three thin slices on one half of sandwich. The bread was flavorless and the ridiculous amount of mayonnaise made any health benefit negligible. It was basically shredded cabbage, carrots, and huge chunks of cucumber between two mayonnaise soaked bread ends. The crab and corn bisque was a joke too. I will return as Brady's is an institution in downtown Hammond - but will certainly not be ordering my old favorite! read more

Heather was our initial server - she explain she would not be our server but she wanted to check on us and get us started. After our drinks came, we teased her because she was at the restaurant even though she needed to go home and study. When asked if she was a Team Leader, she said no, but took the time to explain why her customers were important to her. That kind of dedication is a rarity, especially in the service industry. Went out to dinner with some co-workers never been to Brady's before and probably won't come back. Service wasn't that great. I guess that's to be expected on a Saturday night but we saw our waitress 3 times maybe. Our table was very nasty and sticky. I had to get the waitress to re-wipe the table down again. Our food was cooked in old grease and very. At the end of our dinner we were serve our tickets on a post it note. I've never been served a receipt on a post note. I didn't see anyone else getting post it notes as receipts so. I don't know what's up with that. They will be getting a star by default from me. read more

My experience was horrible. I wish I could tell you how the food tasted but I sat at the bar for 15 minutes & not 1 person acknowledged me. THEN when I sat in a booth I was STILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGED. no one said "I'll be with you shortly, nothing! I only had a 30 minute lunch & all I wanted was water & a salad, but was never able to eat because my entire lunch was spent trying to get someone's attention to take my order. If I was able to rate zero stars I would. I won't say it was because I was the only brown skin person in the restaurant, but that's the thought. Sadly the restaurant was a recommendation from someone else. They bragged at how good the food was & the vegetarian options... I wish I could review the food but I will not be spending money with this establishment! read more

Ordered a corned beef reuben. They didn't rinse the sauerkraut so it was fully brined, but I like that! So..my food made me thirsty. However, the young lady waiting on my table didn't refill my tea until I was done eating. She pours it and asks if I'd like one to go. I said I did. By the time she brings me a styrofoam cup with just ice in it my second glass is half empty and I pour the rest into the go cup. I ask for more to take with me. She takes the go cup by grabbing the lip of it with her finger well inside the cup. Gross. Never put your finger inside someones cup. read more

We had the special for Monday, red beans and rice with catfish, and it was excellent. In fact, when I go back, and I will, I will probably order the same thing. The accompanying caesar salad was your basic romaine and cheese, but the house salad is a great deal for only $3. The kid's meal looked more like an adult portion. We were there at noon, and the place was packed, so the waitress looked really stressed, so the service could have been better. Plenty of parking at the rear entrance. The bar portion of my visit ruined it. They billed me for a double that I didn't ask for, they admitted I didn't ask for and cost more than my Po-Boy. Then they wouldn't adjust my bill to a single. I graduated from SLU and went back to Brady's for nostalgia reasons when I was in town. It was seat yourself and it took a long time for the waitress to come by. OK, it happens. Ordered a Myers Dark and coke. Long time passes, we don't have Myers Dark. OK, Bacardi Amber. Long time passes. We don't have that, how about a spiced rum? No thanks, Bacardi light and coke. Long time passes, comes back with a tall one and it's strong. Maybe 15 minutes since my ordering. I'm guessing they're making up for the earlier inconvenience. I had been wondering if they'd comp me the drink given the time passed. After I got the drink I assumed they made up for it with a heavy pour. Fair enough. I'm happy with that. I get a $7 roast beef po-boy. I ask for no tomatoes Sandwich is great but it has tomatoes that I have to take them off. Waitress never noticed or commented that I had a pile of tomatoes on my plate. Bill comes and it's nearly $17. My sandwich was $7??? I ask how much the drink was, answer $8. Why?? It was a double. Yes it was but I didn't ask for one. I nicely said I didn't ask for a double, you shouldn't bill me for something I didn't ask for. You should bill me for what I asked for. I know you didn't order a double and I apologize but that's what they gave you and you drank it. I protest but no use. What a rip off. That was unethical. We live in Hammond so we frequent Brady's. Hammond is a college town so waitresses in these downtown restaurants tend to change out pretty regularly. Service is definitely hit or miss, but I've never had a terrible experience as some seem to have with no one coming back to the table. Prices aren't bad, TVs everywhere if you like that sort of thing, we're used to the dirty seats. Bar, patio, yadda yadda. Nachos suck, the spinach artichoke dip is better, catfish mamou is my favorite. It's what you'd expect with the poboys, but the sandwiches are below my par due to the quality of meat. Salads are nice, but I've had the tomato basil soup special once that was horrible. I also hate that they serve the daisy sour cream packets. Nachos: heap of cheap chips only decorated on top with tasteless olives and cheese, microwaved and served on a paper plate. Hence the 2 star rating, please try a little harder. read more

Service is a hit or miss, and food is decent. The server brought out our food and didn't check up on us until it was time for a check. We watched as she flirted and made plans to grab a drink after her shift with the table in front of us multiple times during the hour and fifteen minutes she did not check on us. Took 15 minutes to get our checks and 10 minutes to receive our change. So annoying, lol read more
