I rarely give this low of a rating. I really do try to find the food in places but I just can't for this one. This is my second time giving them a try. First time was about 2 years ago and we didn't even stay to eat because NO ONE came to wait on us after about 30 min. It's a "seat yourself" establishment but still, not one person acknowledged us. My husband gave them this long because he figured maybe they were just that busy. Fast forward to today, wow! Again, we seated ourselves and it took about 20 min for someone to come over to us. Two other tables seated themselves after us and they were served first. I wanted to complain but my husband stopped me. An hour and 10 min later, we finally got our food. Like warm. I didn't complain because at this point we just wanted to hurry and be out of there. I would have given a few more stars if the food had actually been tasty. Then at least it would have been worth the wait. I ordered an Alfredo pasta dish. Tasteless. Nowhere near what Alfredo sauce should look like and basically no salt. My husband ordered a catfish plate. The fries portion was ridiculous to say the least. I was floored! Lost my appetite completely. They also forgot my salad that came with the meal. I asked for it to come anyway only because the pasta was so tasteless I was hoping the salad would calm my hunger. It was meh. Our server was not attentive. I don't recall her name. The other server in our area was super attentive and I could see this was why her tables were moving faster. All in all, we were there way too long for such bad service and food. The food here is pretty good and pretty consistent for pub style food. They have oysters on Friday night with jasper which is such a treat! The bar gets packed to get his fresh, yummy oysters and to see him shucking. He's such a character, it's like a live show! They also have an amazing Bloody Mary here. It's like a salad in a glass, the perfect drink to end a boozy night with. My problem is the wait staff. It's mostly young, college kids and they don't take their job seriously at all. Look, they're in college and it's a laid back bar - I'm not trying to be an ass, but if you're a server you can still have fun while doing your job. Every time we go, we have at least 5 or 6 girls helping us. We have no clue who our server is and because there's too many hands in the pot, mistakes/ sloppiness are pretty common. The girls are also often bs'ing right in front of the kitchen in plain view of most of the customers. That's just not professional, no matter how slow it is. Brady's has a unique flair. During lunch and dinner hours, they are a restaurant that serves pretty good food. After hours, and on st Patrick's day, they morph into a bar that caters to the locals who want to drink!! The food offered is traditional, but spans a few different genres. Steaks, seafood, Italian, burgers, salads... all on the same menu. If you want it, they probably have it. I highly recommend the Pork Tenderloin Marsala. It tastes like it is prepared in house, from scratch. I've tried the seafood and some of the Italian dishes and I was satisfied. The portions are on the larger size and the prices are fair. Service is always above average. The decor sports a lot of dark wood and emerald green, sort of dated but they make it work. The bartenders are efficient and mix a drink well. now i try to leave the most honest reviews about places ive eaten at or visited, so im gonna be brutally honest about this place. overall it's a hit or miss experience. if you plan on getting the alfredo, just know that its very bland and doesn't really give off that true alfredo feeling. i'd recommend going to the nearby tommy's for that. this happened several years ago when i was coming home from a convention in baton rouge. it was me, my grandparents, and my dad. we stopped here on a late night for dinner because we had been driving for a while. the lady serving us was nice and polite. i got the alfredo and was expecting the very soft and creamy fettuccine alfredo that you'd normally expect at places like olive garden. it was the complete opposite. it wasn't very soft in my own opinion, and the alfredo sauce wasn't creamy as i was expecting. however, it wasn't terrible tasting. if anything, it was mediocre in the best-case scenario. and they don't give as much as tommys' alfredo does. it's a measly maybe half or quarter of the bowl. i really don't know who could eat that and willingly say that it is good. not my favorite. probably won't be back. read more

Tonight was the 1st time I went on their Steak Special night. I was pleasantly surprised. $14 for a nice size steak with a baked potato and salad. They didn't skimp on the meat or the potato toppings. I ordered it medium rare. It came out perfect! It was so good that I didn't need steak sauce. Oh, hell, I almost forgot to mention the service. Brady's has been a staple in Hammond for a while. Even though the signs and name lead you to believe it's an Irish pub, it's not. The food here are burgers, sandwiches, Po-boys and some upper end items like ahi tuna, steak, shrimp, oysters, etc. For me, he fried shrimp and oysters have way too much breading and spices and it's so much you can taste the shrimp or oysters. The burgers and sandwiches are good though and the prices are fair. Service. Hmmm. Some days it's great others it's just plain painful. Today for example, we ordered and it took 25 minutes to get 2 burgers. We ate in 5 minutes because we were rushed and then looked for the woman to get our check. 14 minutes later a guy walked by and saw me tapping my credit card and looking and said "need help". 5 minutes later we finally got a check. Food was really good. I had the catfish Poboy. Our waitress was quick to get our orders and drinks in. Then we never saw her again after. Rumor has it she was using black magic and accidentally teleported to Loranger. I attempted to summon her but I was attacked by orcs and I was unable to finish the ritual. We were in town for a high school football game and stopped by Brady's for an early lunch. Loved every minute of it. The service was great! It's the type of service that anticipates what you need before you have a chance to ask. We started with the onion rings for appetizer which were amazing. We had everything from a BLT, to fish tacos, to quesadillas, to gumbo. Such a nice variety of food for everyone. And the music in the place was so fun. My husband and I were staying in Hammond while on visit to NOLA in July and wanted to check out some local fare. Brady's was just down the street from our B&B and looked popular the Saturday evening we went looking for something to eat. We ordered the Creole Italian Shrimp Saute and it was VERY good - shrimp were well cooked, pasta was hot, and the seasoning was great. The wait-staff was very friendly and advised us well. There was no wait, we were seated immediately and despite the parking lot, there were many open tables inside. The atmosphere is nice, very clean, appears to be fairly recently renovated and comfortable. We would definitely go again. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars - it's in a very remote/rural area so we were not expecting big city service or surroundings, but they did a great job and it fits in well with the nearby towns. read more

Great place for lunch in downtown Hammond. The Chicken Tender sandwich is my favorite. This is my parent's favorite place to eat when they visit from out of town. They have a varied menu and it is a comfortable atmosphere where they always have the game on (no matter what your sport may be...) I used to come here as a kid, and I'm so glad I walked in last month. Brady's is an absolute gem - I've gotten burgers, seafood platters, and salads and they've all been spot-on and beyond delicious. The entire wait staff is so helpful, sweet, and amazing at making you smile! Never a bad experience, absolutely incredible food, and a really cool atmosphere both inside and outside. I frequently order pick up from Brady's and have never had a problem. That being said, I went in the other day and received the worst service ever. Our waitress did not even introduce herself and had another person run us our food while she watched. She gave me the wrong amount of change and when I asked about it, so that I could properly tip her, she rudely replied, "here take your dollar". Not sure why I even tipped her at that point but I seriously regret it. As we left we watched our server run to the girls at the bar and gave us ugly glares. Normally our "go to" burger place but not so much tonight. I got the Pork Marsala which sounded good but wasn't. It was wrapped in flabby fatty bacon; and no one likes flabby bacon! There was also something really off about the either the sauce or the pork. I am not sure which but it almost tasted like the meat was bad. I don't know. The snow peas on the side were very bland. No seasoning in sight. It also came with a side Caesar which was really wilted and browning. It made me think that it had been sitting out premade for a while. But on a Friday night, no lemons for iced tea, a hostess who did not know anything about the drink menu ("What? Negro Modelo? I've never heard of that."), and a menu that did not have the real poboy price clearly marked. Add a server who, when asked for hot sauce other than Tabasco, said, "I'll check," and never came back. The service is NONEXISTENT!!! Restrooms are Not wheelchair accessible and a person with a walker might not be able to use the facilities as it is a very narrow restroom. Our visit started out great. Nice atmosphere. Great Game on the T.V. and the volume was good...low enough to be able to converse with your party and also not be annoying to people that do not want to watch, but loud enough to hear the game. Waitress arrived promptly. Very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered our drinks. They arrived. Then I ordered the Grilled Tuna Plate, my husband ordered the Crab & Corn Soup and a burger, medium rare & sweet potato fries. The waitress returned right away and told us the Crab & Corn Soup was no longer available. So he then ordered the Shrimp soup. The Waitress brought my house salad and his soup. She returned to ask if the soup & salad were alright. She inquired about a refill on the drinks. So far so good. She brought our entrees. My tuna and his burger. Then it all went downhill. She NEVER returned to check on us. My sides, which she suggested I switch, were inedible. The grease/oil that had been used to pan saute or pan fry the potatoes had burned so I could not eat them. The Tuna & burger were great but we really needed drink refills, and I would have Loved to have been able to get SOMETHING to eat with my tuna.
