Dare I say that Zoe's is the best braid shop in the Atlanta area? Yes! I've gotten braids done all over ATL and she is hands down the best. Most shops just try to finish your braids and get you out, but Zoe runs the show and she is meticulous. I once witnessed her telling one of her braiders to take the braid down and do it again. She is very kind and sweet though and accommodating to your schedule. Her and her braiders are also FAST! If I ever moved from Roswell, I'd travel back to her. She did my hair again today (about 5 times in total) and I left feeling like I'm about to model for a braid shoot. My whole family goes to her. She's the best for quality, price and styling. If someone rated her low, they must have not cared for their hair correctly. My hair is super fine and I've never had issue with my braids falling out. I got micro braids for Jamaica in June and my sister asked me to take them out for her wedding at the end of July. I put a ton of conditioner on my hair hoping it would help loosen some of the braids during take down and nope! Those bad boys were in there good, but not damaging. I was seated in another hair braider's chair and watched as Zoe (the owner) left her customer's hair half braided, over and over again, as she ran errands. She also ate fast food while doing the cutomer's hair, which is highly unsanitary and just disgusting. We were all there very, very late, and although another person did my hair, the the things Zoe (the owner) was doing (leaving her customer an umpteenth number of times and eating while doing hair) was just so unprofessional and unhygienic---I have decided to find someone else. I have heard that a number of African hair braiders do these types of things and to look for American or African American hair braiders instead. I am new to Georgia, and went to the closest person in the area, which is a mistake that can be forgiven. But this was just a turn off for me. Don't eat and then put your hands in people's hair. I went there to get Havana twists last Thursday 5/21 and less than seven days later I have had over 7 twists come out! I called to let Zoe know and to tell her I wanted to come get it fixed. As soon as she remembered who I was and understood the problem, she immediately went on the defense. I let her know I have gotten Havana twists before and I didn't have this issue. She yelled that she DIDN'T CARE and that she has heard that before. I told her that was poor customer service because I paid $170 for these twists AND gave her a $30 tip so I surely don't expect to be told that she didn't care. As I was trying to talk, Zoe talked over me, yelled and hung up in my face. Needless to say, I won't be going back to that place. I'm a store manager so one thing I understand is customer service and this was one of the worst experiences ever. I believe in karma so this will come back to her tenfold. read more

I really wanted this place to work but i experienced something far far worse. I arrived on time to Zoes for my appointment which was for 5 oclock p.m. Needless to say my hair didnt start getting braided till 6 p.m. I had my two kids with me so i was worried about being up too late but proceeded on. I stated that i wanted thick box braids. You would think since i wanted braids thick it wouldnt take sooo long but this was the longest braiding session ive ever had. The first woman that braided my hair was friendly, gentle and i felt all together comfortable with her. However midway through the stylist changed and someone else took over. The woman was very rough on my head and aggressive when combing. When i asked her if she could be more gentle she got a attitude. This goes to show the lack of concern for overall health of hair. At 1 a.m. i asked when my hair would be finished as my kids and I had been waiting patiently all night, and this is when she got irate and told me she is sacrifing being with her own kids to be at work . She rolled her eyes and said shed been working hard and shed rather be home instead. I was appalled but let her finish majority when i decided to up and leave( without hair even finished). This is how bad i wanted to get outta there. I left at 2 a.m. Rudiculous!!! And considering the location along with time i left i felt extremely un safe. Other places youll have two women working on your head just so you wont be there that long and establishments will close at reasonable times and youll be given the option to come back next day to complete style and honor you as a client if not complete. I as an African American woman feel like our community and money should be respected and if not we should do business elsewhere. If owner were to privatley message me and offer an apology or explanation for poor service id be willing to take down my re iew as I didnt want to write it in first place but find its helpful for others to be aware of such experiences. read more
