I'm new to the area and went to Braidscity to get my hair done it took 2 hours I love it thanks mama it's The best braiders garland and quite possibly Texas. This is my 3rd visit, the first time I got small/medium box braids, 2nd visit was a touch up and now I came back for a fresh installation of micro braids. The braiders work hard to get you in and out as quickly as possible because it is a process. My small/micro braids normally take 12 hours! but mama did my micros in 4 hours beautiful and neat . I request for my baby hair to be left out, medium tension (I don't want traction alopecia) and if I want a defined part. I haven't experience any breakage, damage to my real hair or much irritation due to the braids. Now, I will be honest, it can be pretty painful at first when you leave. I personally go home and run hot water thru my braids immediately and use a leave-in conditioner on each braid to slightly loosen the braid. This method isn't recommended by most because it will shorten the lifespan of your braids. However, it breaks them in quicker so I can begin styling them and significantly reduces the irritation to my scalp. I don't mind coming back in 2 weeks for touch ups because my priority is the health and wellness of my real hair. I would rather my braids only last 4 weeks and know that my scalp and real hair hasn't undergone any stress as the goal is to wear a protective style that promotes growth. If I had to choose one word to describe braidscity, I would use AWESOME!!!! After trying a few other braiding salons and not liking my hair most of the time, I stumbled upon Braids city as I was Instagram trolling late at night lol. I instantly fell in love with their work. I made an appointment with my now favorite MAMA. Ladies she did not disappoint. Her talent and customer service with me was exceptional. She knows her stuff when it comes to braiding and I'm talking ALL styles. I was going to her before she had her current salon. I've been a customer for almost 8 years now and have never had a problem with her or her staff. Needless to say, I have tried many, many, many styles, some of which she recommended. I love her to pieces. She is fun, feisty, and fierce, my kind of stylist. MAMA is all about giving her customers what they want, but I will warn you, she is totally honest about hairstyles. If it's something that will not work she will let you know before you spend your money. Now if you decided to go against her advice then that is on you honey, lol. . I have personally never encountered any rudeness with her or her staff. Now that doesn't mean that you can be rude to her and not expect to get read lol because she can go there. I had my daughter with me mama welcome her she was like let me hold her I have a daughter too kids are amazing she just babysit for me for 3 hours she just said I won't change the baby diaper for you lol but they welcomed her with no problem as I sat in the chair to get micro Senegalese twists ( at least they didn't show that they were annoyed if they were. She was like fell free seriously no problem My hair took by 3 hours 3 people and I have thick natural hair. I t. I didn't have chunks of hair coming out or excessive shedding when I took my braids out from the last time they did it They were very polite, professional, and provided quality work. Best braiding shop I've been to in Garland . At first the. Way the older lady talked with me I was like wait a minute let me back off and mama just walked in talked with me and I said let me try it Thank you ladies!! You're awesome! I love you mama i will be back I don't go online to rate a business but with your qualifications a master degree and a bachelors degree teaching qualification braiding license and now going back for nursing oooh girl you will be so big in the next few years Oh....and there was very little pain after the twists were installed, but the next morning I was fine. After I had my son just over a year ago pregnancy had really took a toll on my hair and it really needed attention. I decided to treat myself to a salon visit for my birthday, so I booked in at the Braidscity . I had never been here before and couldn't have been made to feel any more welcome and relaxed. I had a my hair done for sngalese twist was not too sure on what I wanted but Mama who did my braids was very friendly & helpful and I absolutely love my hair she also advised me on what would suit me and I love my twist. She also spent the time recommending products I asked about and showing me how to Put my hair in a ponytail I can never normally poneutail my hair successfully but will now practice! Overall I really enjoyed my salon experience and will be going again. Would recommend braidscity the owner is very professional.
