What are you doing way back here biped? Trying to break your truck?
Bruce C.

When you're in trouble and need emergency assistance with your vehicle, these are your mechanics. I broke my truck good while off-road and limped into Flagstaff from deep in the backcountry at 22mph. I'm an old guy who drew one of only five bowhunting tags for pronghorn in GMU11M (the area around Flagstaff) and here I am on opening day looking for someone to work on my truck. Juan Zavala tells me to bring straight in and then tag-teams my truck with Oscar Araiza and Robert McKenzie, getting my truck repaired in only 2 hours. I'm on the road just after 10am and on the hunt. These guys understood how rare my tag was and went above & beyond to get me back in the field...I will never forget it. BrakeMasters sets the customer care bar so high, other auto shops need to charter a plane just to see it.

Rory at BrakeMasters really helped my friend and me out in a pinch. We were on a cross country roadtrip and realized we needed to get our brakes done. We went to a competitor (whose name rhymes with Heineke) because they had the earliest available spot and we were eager to keep our trip moving. Fast forward one day, Meineke snapped one of our brake lines, ordered the wrong parts and informed us that we would be stuck in Flagstaff for the next five days (this was all around Thanksgiving, so shipping was delayed and their shop was closed). We were devastated. In a desperation move, we called BrakeMasters in hopes that someone could repair our partially seized caliper. Rory picked up the phone and said he would give it a try. Within 15 minutes, he had the caliper rebuilt and fully operational. The only problem now was to repair the (newly) broken brake line. Again the competitor said they needed the part and that wouldn't arrive for a few more days. We were able to get the vehicle towed to Brake Masters, where Rory shaped a new line himself, mirroring the piece that had been broken. He installed new rotors, fixed our line, repaired our caliper and installed new pads - all over the weekend. He went above and beyond, helping us when we were truly at a loss for what to do. While I wouldn't expect Rory or anyone to do that consistently, it showed us such a clear difference between what a good person and honest mechanic (Rory at BrakeMasters) looks like, compared to their competitor. Thanks, Rory. If we're ever in Flagstaff again, we will for sure stop by!

This whole interior was greasier than county fair french fries. Also note the location of the cap in the picture was where I had found it.

A couple months ago, I needed to go get an oil change. Brake Masters was offering some reasonable prices on an oil change, so I decided to choose them to service my car. Things seemed okay for a couple of months, until my oil light turned on. Naturally, I thought this was very strange has I had gotten my oil changed not too long before. When it came on again I decided to check under the hood for myself, and the oil cap was off and oil was spilled all over the outside of my engine. I was absolutely pissed. But don't worry, I just went to Walmart to get some oil that would work with my car, and I filled the thing up myself. AND I put the cap on! Haven't had an issue since, but still need to wipe down everything covered in oil. Thank you, Brakemasters for helping me to know what businesses I should not trust in this city. Sketchy.

I called they charge $150 to replace your break pads only, not including if you need new roters. Eek! Methinks not.

They set me up with an appointment and when I asked a couple more questions re how quickly they could drop the trans and take a look at it they said, "oh we don't open up transmissions we just replace them ". What?? So what my appointment was apparently intended on their part was to test drive the truck and get a sense of what it is doing and if what it's doing requires actual REPAIR of the trans (you know how their ad says "transmission repair?), your ONLY solution at this business is to get a COMPLETE replacement of your transmission. What they do here is work with the bulk transmission rebuild shops like Jasper, etc who ship them a replacement trans which can be extremely costly, $3k to $4k or more depending on your vehicle - all this place does is remove your current and put a rebuild into it. They admitted they no longer staff ....you know ...TRANSMISSION REPAIR SPECIALISTS, who fix transmissions. Well guess what - there are at least ten or more other auto repair shops all around Flagstaff that do that exact same thing. Don't be fooled thinking you need this place because they have "transmission" in their name or you see "transmission repair" in the ad. They dont. Shop around to every auto shop in town and compare pricing, workmanship, etc. Sadly it seems Flagstaff no longer has a transmission specialist shop that can help repair, build, etc your trans - all you have available are trans replacement shops.

We stopped by Nationwide Transmission first thing on a Saturday morning and even though the owner, Adam, was busy, his team looked at our car. They diagnosed it, fixed it and got us back on the road. Highly recommend Nationwide Transmission, Adam and his team. They were patient, communicative, and very willing to help and even stay after hours to get the job done. Very honest and repairs were cheaper than we were expecting.

We are very grateful for Adam at Ascot Automotive who accommodated our request to check the check engine light issue on our Ford Edge even though they were already booked for the week. He listened and empathized with our situation to make it back home safely to California by Friday. When we arrived to Ascot Automotive on Thursday morning, Adam took care of us with great professionalism and honesty. After taking our information, he offered to have one of his staff drive us back to the hotel. He kept us updated from the point of the car diagnostics to the details of parts and labor for the repair. By Thursday afternoon, we agreed to have the repairs done. On Friday morning, our car was ready so he sent Darius to pick us up from our hotel to Ascot to pay and pick up our car. Price wise, the cost of the diagnostic, parts, and labor were very reasonable. I am writing this review on our drive back to San Diego. We couldn't be happier with how well our Ford Edge is running. Most of all, we are very happy with our experience and the excellent customer care Adam, Cody, and Darius provided at Ascot. They definitely deserve a 5 plus star rating!

It was a no start after unit replacement. I waited 4 WEEKS for them to fix the issue. They threw a parts cannon at it, changing ficm, icp, removing glow plugs, etc. said my rigid fuel line was leaking, never had an issue with that, and i never approved it, but charged me anyway. they did an OBD scan couldn't find the issue, then said they refuse to work on it. I had it towed to a diesel only shop, it was running in two days. Randy's charged me $800 for labor.(justify that) They were going to charge me $1000 for the unit. I bought the part for $190 and I was pressured to have it shipped overnight. $325 total. I could have saved $130 because it just sat for weeks. Basically I paid over $1000 for that experience, It STILL DIDN'T RUN. In total, $1600 total for a fuel sending unit and IPR sensor. By both shops.

Randy's garage took off the entire shield. That would have been fine if they did not destroy all the clips that are $50 at the dealer (yes they are special clips).
