DANNY IS THE MAN!!! Brake Masters Lake Forest does customer service the traditional way. You remember, when the customer mattered. I had my truck towed in due to an overheating problem, based on someone else's poor installation of the radiator hose, which came off on my commute home and dumped over 2 gals of radiator fluid. Made an appointment, even came 10 mins early and still waited for over two hours! This place sucks!! Why do they take appointments if NOT honored?? It shouldn't take 3 hours, with an appointment, to get front Brakes done! An overhaul takes less time! The person, Sal, at the front desk is very rude when I confronted him about the time!! He didn't even inform me that several people had appointments when clearly, some people came in well after I did! Then, 2 1/2 hours later, Sal informs me that the brakes were not in the shop and needed to be ordered, but now they are in and in 30 mins your car will be done! Went in to get my breaks checked. I had called in advance to scout out prices and the prices matched once I got there. That's a plus! Being an Asian girl taking your car to get fixed is such a hassle. You can feel people trying to rip you off!! But the guys here did a great job! Price was reasonable and service was quick! They also suggested I get my air filter changed (he showed it to me and it was FILTHY!! I think there even was a bug stick in it) he didn't say I had to change it now or even say he would change it. My sister and I have been taking our cars here for almost 8 years now and only have positive things to say. Prices are great, owner is so sweet, and they are fast with services. A month ago I took my car into Pep Boys for a basic oil change (which was a mistake). The only reason I went there was because I moved out of the city and Pep Boys was just close by. But long story short I was told by PB that I had numerous things wrong with my car and it totaled to about $800 in work. Took my car home with their recommendations and noticed a small leak which was not there before I had taken the car in. Worried, I took the car into another shop and they told me that I had a minor oil leak and it would cost $500 to fix. Still not convinced that I needed all this work done, I finally made my way back to Orange County and took my car into Brake Masters. I explained what was going on with my car (the small leak) and that I wanted their honest opinion on my car situation. So I left my car with them and waited for their call. After inspected I was told that the part that needed to be replaced was only a $5 part!!!! I was very happy and relieved to hear this news. It was almost to good to be true, but I have had my car back for over 3 weeks now and there is no sign of any leak! I seriously recommend this place to everyone!!! Great price, great service, friendly, helpful and fast. everything i want from a mechanic. i replaced my own shocks and went to them after to get an alignment. i was in and out within 30-40 minutes (if that). you can watch them do the work through the window in the office, and see the computer display that shows the readings from your car, so you know exactly how it was, and how good it is when they're done (very) could not be happier, and will definitely come back here if there's a job i cannot do myself. read more

After getting new tires on my F-150, I noticed excessive brake dust coming from the front passenger wheel. I noticed that I had uneven wearing on the rotor and the brakes were starting to squeak pretty bad. I could no longer bear the noise and brought it to Brake Masters based on the reviews I had seen here on Yelp. Pretty much what I expected, a great experience. They were able to true the rotor to fix the uneven wear without trying to sell me on replacing the rotor. Said it wasn't that bad and that it should last me a long time. They had to resurface it a couple times to get it even without charging anything for the extra time. Even at 4:30 pm on a Monday, I was out of there within an hour. Lifetime warranty along with great customer service, that is something you won't find everyday. read more

This Brake Masters is the best, most honorable group of mechanics in the area. I have been going there for years - expectations always exceeded. I purchased a new car about a year ago. I have been taking it to the delearship until this last time. They came up with a number of items that needed to be done some of which 'immediately'. It began with trying to sell me a new battery for $329, saying my car needed an alignmet - I had one done about 3 months ago and it went on. I immediately went over to Brake Masters for a second opinion/cost comparison. The cost of the battery was 1/3 of the dealership's price. The other items either did not need to be done or if needed to be done, the price was much less. I can not recommend this place strong enough. Nice to deal with honest, ethical people! read more

I took my Audi A4 to Brake Masters in Lake forest CA on Bake Parkway on Oct.21 2009. I arrived at the shop around 4:10pm and waited to get a Alignment. I presented a coupon for $44.95 the service tech asked if that is my Audi and I said yes and he says it will be $15 more because we have to use different tools. Let me tell you that I have done alignment at the same shop for $44.95. I said no thank you and walked out. Brake Masters lost my business not because of $15 but because Brake masters Lake Forest wanted to over charge me for what I drive. Sure they have to use different tools they have the tool its not like they have to go buy or rent it. You can't over charge customers because your business is slow or you feel you should. The tech highlights the word on coupon "most cars" and he says mine is not most cars. I went to another location charged me $50 without saying oh you drive Audi here is a slap $15 more. I came in for an alignment for my truck that was pulling left. I waited the hour and a half it took and when they pulled the truck out they didn't test drive it. I asked if it still pulled left and they said they didn't know but the toe in was out pretty far and that should fix it. haha "should" I love it. So I asked for the print out from the alignment (which you should always get). Turns out they didn't do an alignment, all they did was set the toe in for $90! I saw that the camber was WAY out of spec. and the caster wasn't even measured, which can and did cause the truck to pull!! When I questioned the guys there they said it didn't matter, toe in is what makes tires wear. This was a blatant lie. It definitely does, but only on the outter edge of the tire, mine were wearing the entire outside 4" of the tire. Again, I brought it in because it was pulling left!! Luckily I was a mechanic for 10 years and actually did alignments and know what everything does to the car and tires. So after arguing for several minuets with the guy and agreeing to pay extra to get a "real" alignment done they tried for and hour and couldn't even do it. This place does not know how to do actual alignments They agreed to give me a full refund if I could find a shop that could. I have had the truck aligned every couple of years by a different company and never once had an issue so a refund will be coming my way....if they have any honesty left in them. This place is dishonest and a scams people, this is coming from someone who has a degree in Automotive and is a ASE Master technician. I listened to them sell customers things that they didn't need and were replaced by them just a couple years earlier, and these items last at least a hundred thousand miles. I'm sorry to write a bad review but this is why mechanics get a bad name, and I'm glad yelp is here to help other people avoid getting scammed. read more
