Brake diagnosis/ oil change...Brake Masters implies they know brakes...No nada! $400 dollars later I have the same issue...shuddering on hard stops. It does it after the car is driven a bit. Didn't put odometer reading in and out then the wrong one; did not air tires; brake fluid was to top of resivior and had to be lowered; wouldn't tell me what brand parts were used per rotos and brake pads ....so don't waste your time. They do not care about your car, your brakes working properly thus your life! I will have it inspected/ evaluated and checked to see if the alledgely new rotos and brake pads are on correctly and have mind to.cancel payment if they aren't new and properly installed since the same recent issue exists or maybe because their odometer inputs are incorrect and can void warranty. Took my car here for a diagnostic because the fuel pump went out. I personally delivered my car there for an over night drop off and when I went to check on my car the 2 12inch subwoofers and speaker box had been removed from my trunk. When I asked what happened I was told that they had no idea what happened. Then they said that the car was left in a public parking lot so they aren't responsible. Then they said the tow truck driver might have taken it. Once again I advised that I was the one that left the car there and that there was no way to enter my trunk without the key and they were the only ones that had access to the key because I only have one key. Once again I was told that it wasn't their responsibility. At this point I was done with the back and forth and asked when my car would be done. They advised that they hadn't been able to look at the car because the battery was dead. My car had already been with them for almost 3 weeks. So I went and bought a new battery so the car would have power. Then today I was told that the car had electrical problems which the car has never had ever and no documents were provided to back this information or to even show that they made an attempt to look at or fix the initial issue. Then I was told to just take my key and car and go. My car still isn't fixed, my subwoofers are gone along with some other minor stuff that was in the car and no one knows how the trunk or car were opened even though they were the only ones with access to the key. It isn't even possible to open a car that has no power without the key and despite there being no evidence of any tampering to the trunk or car my stuff was stolen. They claim there are no cameras and there is nothing that can be done. I'm absolutely disappointed in the lack of integrity, transparency, professionalism, and accountability this place has shown. This was my second experience with this place and they have worked on this car before so they were very much aware of the items in my car/trunk. I can't tell anyone what to do but take my advice they are not a place you want to take your car to especially if you have anything of value like sound system stuff (amps, subwoofers, or twitters) for an overnight drop off. They will lie, blame you, and hide behind it being a public parking lot that they advise you to leave your car on. Brought my car in after I had someone else do the brakes for these guys to verify the previous persons bad work. They saw that the brackets weren't replaced and the calipers weren't greased correctly. Didn't try to upsell me with anything that wasn't needed as I had already had the dealer take care of some other issues and maintenance. A couple weeks after the install the brakes started squeaking and they looked at them saw an issue with one of the pads scraping the back of the rotor and took care of it super quick. Really appreciate the service. Great job and customer service. read more

Customers BEWARE!! Went to get a qoute for transmission fluid change. First thing o noticed was no price listings other than oil change. They guy with glasses asked make and model. I provided him with that information. Without looking at a book or checking the computer he responds " hum, about $383.oo" this is for a 70/30 change. So much and they cannot complete a full change. It has been my experience shop are more affordable than dealerships. Well this shop missed that memo. They were grossly higher than the dealership! I also checked with 7, (just called two more shops in area ) and they range from $240-$325. NO ONE not even dealership was that high. Dealership wanted $354 and I get 15% off. Anytime someone cannot show you starting transmission fluid change price, doesnt look in computer, or any other prices, huge res flag! Don't let this place rip us off and/or make up prices. I will definitely NOT recommend this shop to ANYONE but encourage another shop but this one. Appears to be some shenanigans going on. read more

Went in with my engine light on and a oil leak, $900 later still have the oil leak and the engine light still on. They couldn't figure out the engine light and charged me $600 for a part they said was the leak that was not.... Definitely be careful with these people. They will guess at what is wrong and start at the most expensive thing they can.... Will not be going back.... Thank God the Dealership got it fixed.... read more

This was my second time going to BrakeMasters. The service was awesome as usual. My rear brakes on my car needed new brake pads and Andrew helped get it fixed quickly and affordable. I went to Brake Masters w/my 2017 BMW for a quick oil change before heading to Cali. Oil change was quick and I thought all was good. A day after my car clearly left a large oil puddle. I brought it to BMW dealer in C and after a $270 diagnostic- they determined the oil plug was missing the gasket and oil had been leaking around the bolt. So they drained the remaining oil, told me they had to replace the filter as well as it was not a BMW oil filter and of course charge me for the new oil change. Their bill, well over $390 and the Brake Masters charge for their oil change cost me a bit under $500. I called Brake Masters while I was still in Cali and offered to send them the video and advised I would be in touch when I returned home. After my return I went to the shop and spoke with the manager, gave him my business card and number. He informed me he could not reimburse me for the oil change and would call me after he spoke with the owner. He stated I could expect a call within 2 days. Over 3 weeks of waiting, nothing. No return call, text or email. I hate leaving bad reviews but see no choice but to share my experience. read more

I can't THANK Brake Masters enough! I desperately needed help with repairs to my suv specifically with my rear brakes as I was rolling in scrubbing. Due to the program Tanf paying for my repairs I had to get two diagnostics. Brake Masters was the same as the other company and charged less. I used two locations off Craig rd here in Vegas they were amazing. Brandon, Jesus, Ramone and Andrew went OVER & BEYOND for ME! They kept working on my behalf getting me the necessary things done to get my car back on the road again. I have driven the past 2 weeks with NO issues. They did a last minute pre-race alignment on our "NHRA Slowest Stocker in the world" EF/S 84' Dodge Daytona race car (for an upcoming event we were pre-registered and pre-paid for at the MATSLV race in Las Vegas March 2025), after I did my own CV axle rebooting and messed up my alignment the week before (set it up perfectly race ready so it was straight and true on track), and the very next day we won the MATSLV "Battle of the Brands Mopar Division, ended up winning the trophy as the Last Mopar standing of a large Mopar field, then we went on to defeat the last GM standing and were the overall eventual Runner-Up to the last Ford in the Ford Division in round 7 of a very heated and long Bracket Battle! (And a very hard tap of the brakes could have won that double breakout race ...not to take anything from the overall event winner he earned the win, also but we had a pre-paid $350.00 entry into the MATSLV Stock/Super Stock Shootout for 10K the very next morning and only 1 set of FWD Slicks with us and were not willing to risk flat spotting those to further win a smaller amount with a really big potential race payout ahead and risk losing a chance at the bigger battle of the event overall to still contend with the following morning. Went to the one on azure in Las Vegas to get my brakes done and all they did was lie to me first they said I only needed front brakes come to find out I needed back brakes and they had to order a part for me which I had to come back another day for which I did then after all that when they finished they didn't even need that part but still going to charge me that price I told then that was not the price I was quoted on then they say oh that was for a different car, it is very hard to find honest places and this place is definitely not honest people!!! read more

This is my second review. DO NOT GO HERE. Andrew and this location are absolutely horrible and liars. They wanted to upsell us massively when we needed just brakes done. Not only did they not test drive my car they failed to bleed the lines after "fixing them" the next day my husband almost crashed since the brakes hit the floor. When we went back to have them look at the work they did they said "oh it's the master cylinder it's leaking everywhere" and they wanted 860$... that was a lie since nothing was leaking on our driveway. We took it to my father in law who USED to be a mechanic. Nothing was wrong with the master cylinder we found out they never bled the lines. Thanks to them we will NEVER be back and luckily we are okay and didn't crash due to their FAILURE!!!! read more

This place is a joke. They dont have a problem taking your money but when you complain that their sloppy employees dirty up your vehicle. They say its not their problem. We had our brakes installed thru them. We have a Lexus SUV, we dropped it off on January 25th and brought it back on the January 28th for them to take a look at since it was squeaking and when you press the brakes it goes all the way down. We brought it back and the employee test drove and said it needed to be bled. the manager talked to Tim and said we won't service it since we've had it over a week! Where is the warranty on their work! Hella DISHONEST!!! When we picked up our SUV it had grease stains up inside our SUV, on the hood of the SUV and the running boards were bent. Needed rear drums replaced on my Accord and when they were finished with my install my Emergency breaks didn't work anymore. I thought this is a safety hazard? They tried to fix it when I took it back less than an hour and they said that they would have to charge me labor to tighten the e brake since they had to take it apart. It was working just fine until I took it in to replace my rear drums. I don't recommend this place at all. They're shady! read more

We used this location when they first opened to service both our vehicles. I have an SUV and my husband has a sedan. They were very fair, honest, quick, and helpful. We noticed the 2nd time we went the price had changed from the first service, and it took a lot longer. We weren't bothered because they do honest work, and also are very thorough. The third time we took both cars back for maintenance on brakes and were given crazy quotes for the work. Brakes are a need so we serviced one vehicle and looked around for a better quote on the other. They reached back out to us, and gave us a quote only for labor if we brought the parts, and so that's what we did. After the parts we ordered came in and we scheduled to take it back we were met again with a different quote than the first 2 times we had spoken about and it was AFTER we dropped the vehicle off. It wasn't courteous, or professional like our first couple experiences with them. We will not be going back due to this issue. The team is so sweet, but the inconsistencies and pricing in this market are a huge turnoff. read more

After many years utilizing this center, today was last straw, battery from 7.10.23 went bad and since I'm stuck they would not or could not assist in my warranty battery unless I had vehicle towed to them, so you lt my 35k service, future oil changes and 5 years of being my sole car repair agent. I had gone to another garage to have new brakes put on my car. I drove the car home after they completed the work and the brakes didn't feel right. The brake pedal felt spongy and sunk towards the mat when I pushed on it. The original garage said the brakes were fine when I took it back to them, and I needed to take it to an empty parking lot, drive around and slam on the brakes a few times. Two days later I went looking for a different garage to help me with my brake problem. This is where Brake Masters comes in. They immediately recognized there was an issue when it was driven into the bay. Charles explained everything they were doing as it was being done, and they fixed the problem. Now the brakes are performing how they should and the pedal doesn't feel spongy or sink to the mat. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional. Bonus points to Charles for not laughing at me when I told him how much I paid at the first garage for the initial brake install and fluid exchange. Brake Master's even called me on the next business day to make sure my brakes were performing as they should. I just finished a review for Jiffy Lube, where I received impeccable service. I looked over, and noticed Brake Masters.....This place gave me major PTSD. About 7-8 years ago, I took my Sequoia here for a free wheel alignment. Next thing I'm being told is that my calipers are leaking and they needed to be replaced. Yes, I fell for it and let them do the job. Then on the test drive, the mechanic snaps the ring gear In the rear end differential. The manager on site tried to cover for the mechanic, and said the gear snapped because there was bad oil in the differential. During this time, he was freaking out because he knew it was on them. So my wife had to get picked up, and she was barely able to get our kids from their after school activities.....and yes, they were scared because we hadn't showed up on time. The manager kept trying to tell me these things happen!! The following day, I showed up with a tow truck from Centennial Toyota. I then told them to put the differential back together so I could get my vehicle properly repaired. The shady manager attempted to give me a different work order than the original one he used. He also didn't want to give me the broken differential/ring gear and calipers. I wrote a check for the new calipers, so I could take my vehicle. I quickly cancelled the check. Centennial Toyota repaired my vehicle, which cost approximately $2500. The mechanics also showed me that the calipers were fine, and that brake masters put new oil on them the create the appearance of a leak. But the separation of oil gave that away. I was able to contact the owner, who conducted his internal investigation. This is after I threatened a lawsuit and wrote a long complaint to the better business bureau. The owner and I the took the differential and ring gear to Dan's Drive Line because the owner wanted an official opinion on how the gear snapped. I think he was just trying to delay the inevitable payout. Toyota recommended Dan, so I was comfortable going there. It took Dan all of a few seconds to say that the ring gear had a clean snap and that's something he has only seen in drag racing. The owner then offered to have my vehicle repaired at his place of choice. Too late, it's already repaired at Centennial Toyota. So the owner drove to Centennial Toyota and paid the bill. Small victory for me. But he still had the nerve to charge me for the calipers. Keep in mind that he's owned two Sequoia's and never had to replace the calipers on either vehicle!!! So I get tricked into buying calipers that I didn't need, the mechanic snaps the ring gear during a test drive, the manager tries to cover it up by saying it was a part and oil defect. He also tried to change the work order and keep the broken parts. Then the owner tried to delay paying for my repairs with a last ditch effort to get an opinion to go his way.....DIDN'T WORK!!! After all the stress this experience caused myself and my family, you think the owner would have not charged me for the calipers, but he still did!!! This many years later and I'm still pissed off. Especially paying for calipers that I didn't need!! Instead of wanting the ordeal to be over with, I should have owned this place with a lawsuit!!! Yes, I would have got paid!!! I bet you were extremely happy to get away with only paying $2500 for my vehicle repairs. If you are the same owner and read this, I know you will remember me. I should have sued you and never paid for the calipers. Hopefully this story will deter people away from this shady business......especially since the reason I went the was for a free alignment. If giving negative 5 stars was an option, I would do so. Especially since your shady business is getting bad reviews. I tell this story all the time, even after all these years, because you the owner did the minimum to compensate me. Hopefully this review will take more customers away from your business. read more

Super friendly service! Dont trust them to do the work properly. Like an idiot i gave my money to these people 3 times thinking they would do it correctly. Being a mechanic in my 20s, ive always done my own work. In my mid 50s today, sometimes i just want to pay someone to do it for me. Almost every shop ive gone to has done less than stellar work. I had the O2 sensors replaced only since i needed the swaybar mounting bolts drilled out due to rust. They called me and told me they had no way to fix the swaybar, then charged an hour to change the O2 sensors, which would on my Tahoe would take 30 minutes tops. So i had to drill out the rusted bolts and retap the holes. While doing this i see that they just left the O2 sensor wires hanging by the exhaust, couldnt even push the wire tabs back in the original slot to protect the wires. Last time they aligned the truck. Steering wheel totally misaligned. Complained fixed the steerimg wheel but then pulled to one side. Complained again, they said it was spot on. Took it to another shop, they said it was way off, realigned and drove perfect. Finally years ago had the upper control arms replaced and aligned. Two weeks later suspension was binding, mounting bolts were loose, uper control arm was rocking on its mounts, luckily didnt have an accident. Told me they would align for free, they did nothing, had to get it aligned at another shop, wouldnt give me my money back, said i should have brought it back to them so they could lie again. I know this makes me look dumb, but they are walking distance from my home, and they have some of the lowest repair rates. I have always stated that i believe they hire worthless mechanics, not that the company is bad. Never again, would not trust this shop. read more

Brakemaster, located in North Las Vegas, on Craig Road has always been my GO-TO, reliable mechanic location ever since they found (and replaced) the damaged Schrader Valves on my A/C... that Centennial Toyota could not find on my new, but used Toyota Certified Tacoma that I had just purchased from them. Suddenly my A/C was awesome. This post is late due to Yelp informing me April 1st 2020 that I had posted this to the wrong business... oops. This last visit, to have my brakes checked (my brakes last forever, last visit for brakes was 2013!) and to have a Firestone Rear Air Bag set installed because I had discovered that my arthritic hands could not make the bends needed to finish up the installation of the bags. So, why not trust my Go-To Guys?! I had it set up with the Manager, Mike, to come in Tuesday morning, first thing. Since I had already gone through the main part of the install, only to have to remove the kit since my hands would not work, I knew that I could save the mechanic a lot of time since 1) I had already assembled the two air bag assemblies, and 2) I had studied many YouTube installation videos by professional installers. Mike, the manager, said, sure, that would be A-Okay. Someone should have told the mechanic... he did not get up on the wrong side of bed, he woke up on the wrong side of Nevada. He would not talk to me, he would not talk/respond to the day manager when he, the day manager, tried to intervene (oh yea, this was Mikes day OFF). Frustratingly, I found myself watching this mechanic reading the directions and then making multiple errors on the install that he, then, had to undo and fix. We won't speak of the interminable amount of time he spent on this installation. I could feel his frustration and he continued to call this an unsafe modification, struggling with the install. Repeatedly he told me that it was unsafe and that I should not be doing the install... in other words... "I don't want to do this, won't you change your mind?" But, when I was told it was finished, he had failed to complete the mounting/installation of the air bags; parts were left off. Now, I will be the first to state that this kit was exactingly made and the fitment was tight, but, IMHO as a backyard mechanic, very doable in the 2 hours that Firestone (and others) said would be the most time you'd need to spend on this. When the mechanic indicated that he was finished with the air bags, I had the day manager come over and when air was put into the system.... leaks all over the place; it had not been tested. I arrived at 7:30am, I left to go home at 12:30pm (without my truck), and then had my truck complete with new rear brakes at about 3:30pm. When I called at 3pm (I had not received a call to come pick it up), the mechanic was working on another vehicle and had not, yet, test driven the truck... unbelievable. The day manager did all that he could to help me and in light of all that went on I was charged for only two hours of labor on the Air Bag Install but I have to tell you that my faith in Brake Masters has been shaken. I have gone completely over all of the installation work and I still do not know if I have any confidence in the finished work. I will be calling to speak with the usual manager, Mike, on Friday to discuss this. I hate the thought of having to come up with another trustworthy mechanical provider... you know? It's now October, I just found Yelp's Admin message that I needed to post this to the correct spot. I never did manage to reach Mike.... and the system has a small, irritating leak somewhere that slowly leaks air out. I should be able to set the system at, say, 20#s pressure and not have to maintain it but once a month or so. But, now, we are in this massive Covid Lockdown (thanks Gov. Sisolak, you idiot) and this may never be taken care of. read more

TERRRRREIBLE! I waited 3 hours for " brakes" for them to tell me some bullshit story about rotors. They are liars. I was told to come at 10:30 for an APPOINTMENT and waited for 3 hours for them to even pull my car in and to tell me the shit that they did. Do not go here. It's seriously a waste of time and they have horrible communication skills. JEFF THE MANAGER did not enforce for his employees to wear masks. The first two hours I was in the lobby no one had masks on until Jeff three masks around because the "state was coming" and someone called from another store to let him know. I had my brakes changed mid July its early September and they are already grinding. This is the second time my brakes have been serviced in 6 months. I'm grateful they are willing to replace my brakes at no additional cost, but I find it hard to believe my brakes are needing to be serviced so soon. my car's brakes began to malfunction the day after getting it serviced by this location (originally only wanted an oil change, but they recommended i get my brake fluid and power steering fluid flushed, which i agreed to). my brakes gave out while in the middle of the desert and my boyfriend and i had it towed back to the shop. shop manager took full responsibility for the incident and said we would be fully reimbursed for our expensive tow. my car's brake malfunction was apparently related to a service i had done months previously, a brake and router change done at this location. i was told that my brakes gave out due to riding with them improperly done for so long. the service was done by an employee who they admitted was fired due to their negligent work. weeks go by and we hear nothing, after some digging we have just found out that the reimbursement was denied, which no one called to notify us about. it was denied apparently due to being out of a 90 day period - which was NOT mentioned when we were promised the reimbursement. the incident was truly so terrifying, being in a car with brakes that are not working and to be brushed off and feel as though the incident has no significance or that we do not deserve some sort of compensation. do not recommend. read more
