On Sat., April 13th, 2025, my son and I picked up his car from Carvana. It's a 2024 Bronco Sport Ford truck with a little over 16,000 miles on it. We took it to the Pep boys at 4144 S. Jones at 5:10 Pm for a check up. We were informed the truck needed new rotors and drums. No pictures or any other explanation then that. How odd I thought, the truck is practically brand new. I asked the lady behind the counter how much that would cost and luckily, the computer froze or something and we got tired of waiting before we could find out. Called to make an appointment, they told us to head right over and it would take 1 1/2 to two hours max. I called to check on the car after 3 hours passed and they said one more hour. We headed over to see if they were even working on the car. Just as we expected the car was lifted on the bay with no one working on it. We watched for 25 minutes. I went in and instead of apologizing they tried to upsell me on more work. I then let them know that had they called me to explain the additional work hours ago we might have done some of the work. The manager tried to act like he was doing us a favor by getting us in. No sir we would have gone somewhere else. Now that I'm checking out now they will not honor the 5% military discount that we were quoted initially. They said due to the buy 3 get 1 free they can't. Bullshit. I will never be back. I made an appointment for a wheel alignment and arrived on time. I told the Asian guy working at the front that I had an appointment at 12:30, but he said I didn't have one. I explained that I called the store and made the appointment yesterday, but he just insisted that there was no appointment for me and said the wait time was four hours. He then asked if I wanted to make an appointment for another day. I asked him for the name of the person who worked yesterday, and he said that person was off. I kept saying I made the appointment with him, and eventually, he called the worker and verified that he had spoken with me regarding my appointment. However, he still hadn't entered me into the system. Even after confirming their mistake, he remained arrogant and never apologized. He just kept saying, "You have two options: wait for four hours or come back later." I couldn't believe how rude he was and how dismissive they were of my frustration. This place is a classic rip off merchant. I called ahead of time to buy and install new tires, and they gave me an out the door price of $580. When I took it there, they tried to tell me that I needed a whole new set (20) of lugnuts. Total price with tires and lugnuts would be $1040. They were very aggressive about it and insisted that I needed them. I then took my car to a Discount Tire. They gave me a price of $540, with a warranty and said that I didn't need any lug nuts. Absolute clowns working at this place. Massive waste of time. I went in to get my mustang's TPMS fixed on 11/6/23. They replaced my faulty TPMS with a TPMS that doesn't calibrate to my car. They still charged me for the part + labor stating that "the TPMS sensor works, it just doesn't calibrate to your car". WHAT GOOD IS A TPMS SENSOR THAT ISN'T CONNECTED TO MY CAR? LMAO. HOW FUCKING DUMB IS THAT The tech who worked on my car has his own mustang and mentioned that he had the same issue with his TPMS. So the tech already knew the TPMS they had wouldn't calibrate with my car and yet he continued with the service anyway?? Like if you knew it wouldn't work, why the fuck would you continue to replace it instead of telling me and saving everyone some time. The service manager then mentioned that there's a chance it could work if I just drove 50-100 miles. So I had to waste my gas too ($5.00 per gallon btw). Surprise suprise, the TPMS never ended up working. Not only that, but they upcharged me from the initial estimate they gave me. Imagine upcharging for a service you completely botched. Clowns. When I went in to request a refund, they would only refund me for the TPMS portion and not the labor portion. I came in to get my TPMS fixed which INCLUDES getting it calibrated to my car if that wasn't obvious already. That didn't happen, so why do I need to pay a cent? Especially considering the tech should never have begun the service anyway. I had to get my bank involved and initiate a chargeback. What a joke of a place. This is why everyone hates car repair chains. If you're like me and this place has wronged you in any way and wouldn't refund you or correct it, then PLEASE contact your bank and do what's called a "Chargeback". Went to Pep Boys, because, they are Nationwide company and the warranty is valid in any of their branches. Even though their hourly rate, is higher than a private mechanic, it is worth it, since they have computer diagnostics that is printed out to detect ( few private mechanic shops have this expensive machine) My mechanic was Joseph who is brilliant and master diagnostician, he diagnosed the problem and fixed it without delay and also very amiable to talk to and and he will explain the items that were wrong and and how they were fixed. Terrible customer service, came in to get a vehicle inspection for Uber. There was no one at the main desk. Stepped out to ask the mechanics. Mechanics told me they were short handed to please give them a few minutes. Walked back to the desk, by then someone else had came in. The gentlemen at the desk proceeded to help the other person even though I told him I was there first. He then told me to fill out the form which stated, it had to be filled out by inspector. I have a Toyota Prius and I work for Uber/Lyft I took my Prius into get a oil change and I thought my brakes was worn down I heard noise like it was grinding when I stop sometimes so the Assisting manager Guy at the Pep Boys on Decatur did a Complimentary Vehicle Inspection and found that my rear wheel bearings was bad and and recommended that I'll replace F stabilizer bar control link both side make a long story short I got everything done at a reasonable price and rotated all four tires and got me back on my road so I can get back to work I think this Pep Boys is the best in Las Vegas I would recommend it to everybody thank you Pep Boys And I got a free shuttle to and from my home read more

Worst service. I called at 10 am to get services done on my vehicle. An oil change and a tire replacement. I called this pepboys because the one near me didn't have the tire I needed but was told this store did. When I called this store to double check and was told they had it and bring my car in for the services. Dropped off my car at 11 am gave them my insurances contact information and a claim number for the tire because, I've had my tires replaced before and getting the claim started helps everyone out. Or so I'm use to. But not with pepboys. They quoted an hour and half for the services. They had my car 4 hours. Called me after the initial hour and a half just to ask me again what services I needed and what's being covered by myself and insurance. Two and a half hours later. I show up and my vehicle is still sitting where I left it untouched. I ask them what's going on. And they give me a bunch of excuses. Then quote me another 45 minutes to get my car done for the services I dropped it off at 11 am for. I sit and wait this time to make sure they keep their word for the final 45 minutes. They don't grab my car until the 45 minutes they quoted extra had elapsed. After they finally take my car back they ask again about what services I needed and who's covering what cost. Then I have to tell them what tire is being done and that it's in the trunk because I have my spare on and they didn't even look for the tire. Then they kept saying see if the tire is repairable. After I repeatedly told them replace the tire not repair. My insurance covers replacements on tires that have been punctured. Which the tire is punctured. They don't do repairs. Just replacements. Directly quoted from my insurance company. Even after speaking with the insurance company they had to be repeatedly told replace and not repair. I sit there another 45 minutes on top of the 45 extra they quoted. During those 45 minutes countless other customers ask them what's going on with their vehicles or services they came for. Even some I saw show up before me came and saw their services weren't done and decided to leave and go somewhere else. The service there is terrible. The time management is awful. If they can't give realistic time frames they shouldn't be quoting a time frame. Some customers even stated they had to miss work because they had their cars over 3 hours after being quoted an hour and a half. I'm never going to pepboys again. I only went because they could get me in today and quick from what I was told over the phone. Yeah never doing that again. And for the services I received was way too over priced. I've paid cheaper at the dealership. And on top of all that. After I received my vehicle. They didn't even inflate my new tire properly. The last photo shows my cars tire pressure the rear passenger is the one they replaced. The warning sensor finally went off after about 20 minutes. I didn't even want to bother dealing with having them inflate it because I called after leaving and noticing and was on hold for 10 minutes so I just went and inflated it myself. Yes I know inflating a tire isn't hard. But it's the sheer fact you're paying for a service and it's not given properly. read more

Brought my cat in for a routine alignment. After the first guy calls and gets to tell me what the results of my brake inspection were he rattles off a bunch of inconsequential bs like the reservoir for the power steering was dirty. My complete fluid flush turned into a radiator flush with a new reservoir and a brake fluid change that supposed to be a top off that cost me a caliper and labor. At the end of the day they charged me 1500 and gave me back the truck with a flat tire. Worst case of doing the least and charging the most I've ever seen in my life. This place is a scam. Man, these guys are lucky there isn't a 0-star option. Or negatives, even. I came here earlier today (7/17/2011) because I thought my car battery was dying, and I wanted to replace it. Easy enough, right? No. Allow me to tell you why I'm so unhappy. I parked right outside their service bays because I thought it'd be easier for them to help me. When I walked in the place and asked the guy for help, he asked me to pull right up to the first bay. So I did. Then I asked me to pull away and closer to the third or fourth bay. So I did. Then they asked me to pull into the first bay again. So I did. Then they asked me to back up again, and then they asked me to park near the bays (where I was in the first place!) while someone got to me. It was insane, man. Plus, when I spoke to one of the guys there, he said "I hope we get a chance to help you before we close. We close at 6." Well, yes, I hope so too, as it's 5.05pm. Jerks. I waited in my car until 6:10 pm, when I finally got frustrated and drove away. I will be sending my complaints to someone there to see what they have to say. Also, for the record, I've been coming to this store since 2004. I've never had this kind of problem. This was my worst automotive decision ever. I was given a horrible customer service. I literally had to freak out and cause a scene in the store. It took over 24 hours to fix my car. I was driving cross-country and needed my window wipers to be unclogged (they stopped producing fluid). THIS IS STILL NOT FIXED. I have to take my car in again this weekend (after driving cross country with this nuisance) and will probably have to take it out on the staff in Melbourne. The labor per hour rate was $110! Not even Cadillac would have charged me that much. I have used Pep Boys in the past and have NEVER encountered anything this bad. Ill-informed, inexperienced sales staff. A condescending store manager. Shame on you, Pep Boys. You should reconsider your name, Jerky Boys is 10x more appropriate. read more

Can't speak for the service side of this store, but I do shop on the retail side as they always have some interesting motor oil and oil filter sale going on. The last time I went in they had 5 quarts of Valvoline synthetic (usually 8.79/quart) and a filter (usually 5.99) on sale as a package for $29. The manager at this location has been really accommodating regarding returns & exchanges - sometimes I will buy a part and not have time to work on my car and by the time I realize it is the wrong part, the return period is up. In a couple of these situations, the manager has exchanged the part for me anyway, which is super cool. Always keep your auto part receipts. If something is on sale at Pep Boys, it is usually a pretty good deal. Regular-priced merchandise here is more expensive or the same price as Wal-Mart. For oil filters I generally prefer WIX filters which are only available at O'Reilly's Auto Parts stores. But Pep Boys has deals on Mobil 1 and Valvoline oil, which I prefer. The oil deals at O'Reilly's are usually on Castrol and Pennzoil. read more

I've been coming here for years and was a bit surprised. I know there's the pandemic and all, but that shouldn't excuse terrible customer service. I was trying to drop off some oil to recycle. The guy inside was nice enough; the guy outside, Angel, he was no angel today, rather a cranky, lazy man who didn't care less about taking care of the customer. Ignored me for the longest time, then I finally caught his eye and told him I had oil to recycle. He said go inside. I said I just came from there. He said go inside. I said I was just there and was told to come out and ask for you. Go inside. And then he ignored me again. Took off 5 lug nuts and I caught his eye again. So you're not going to help me? You guessed, it, go inside. I went inside. The guy there was waiting on someone but looked at me and I told him Ángel didn't want to help me. Oh, he's really busy. No, that's not it, he has a real attitude. Went back outside. Angel was gone. 5 minutes later he comes around the corner with a bag of goodies from the convenience store and then stops and has a smoke. The guy from inside finally comes out to help me, at which point he has a little bit of an attitude, probably because he had to do Angel's job and his. The customer service at this place is amazing! Everyone here is so helpful! I came in to get my oil changed and Jovan told me that it would be an hour and a half before they can service my car. So I was going to come back in that time frame. But then he told me to hand him my keys and that he'd take care of it personally. I feel like he could tell that today was the only day I could get my oil changed. And he was right! My only day off. I so appreciate him for takin the time to check my tire pressure and everything else he did! All the other guys in the store are also super nice! Came to this location late on Sunday afternoon with a nail in my husband's tire and was immediately greeted by Robert. He showed genuine concern for our situation and ensured that the process went quickly and smoothly. He took the time to look up our account in the system and found the tire was under warranty since we purchased at another pep boys location. He explained that it would only be $15 to replace the new tire with the warranty program. We ended up using our pep boys rewards points to cover the $15 so we essentially got a free tire! On top of that, we were in and out of there in a half hour. I would definitely recommend this location for speedy and professional service. read more

I'd made an appointment for 10AM to have my power steering fluid flushed and exchanged. I arrived at 9:45 and dropped of the car. They said it'd be 1hr-1.5hrs. I left and came back at around 10:50 and my car hadn't moved from the spot I parked. I asked how much longer and the associate, Gerald I believe, told me another hour. I came back in another 1.5 hours and the car was still not moved. It wasn't until I got back in the store and in line that suddenly the car was finally put into the bay, possibly because he saw me walking back towards the store for the THIRD TIME IN 2.5 HRS with my car still not moved. I took my car in for a oil change. Once I left my check engine light came on I took it to AutoZone to get a quick reading they advised with the reading that a hose had come loose. I took it back to that same pep boys advising what happened they went ahead and fix the holes but they charged me a diagnostic fee. I found little bit odd and I complained. Henry called and spoke with me about the issue and they end up refunding me. Overall great service it was fast, easy to deal with and even though I had an issue they refunded my money for the diagnostics. read more

I would give 0/5 stars if I could due to horrible customer service from the manager Tom and not getting the service that I paid for. I brought my car in for a coolant pressure test because I knew there was a leak, however I was having difficulty pin pointing where the leak was. Upon bringing my car in and paying for the service, they proceeded to tell me there was no coolant leak and gave me two other problems of which I was aware of already, quoting me $1000 to fix the issues. One service was my window at $400 dollars to fix and I declined the service as I was already aware of that issue and was quoted $180 dollars at a different auto shop. Meanwhile, My coolant continued to leak that day after leaving the shop. I went to autozone and bought UV dye for 8.99 and was able to pinpoint the leak myself (the thermostat), where I replaced the thermostat and now the car runs great again. Tom refused to refund me and I had to open a dispute on my card in which Tom was actively fighting. As karma would have it however, the cc company closed the case in my favor and I got my money back. Please do not take your vehicle to this shop especially if Tom is working. read more

I just want to start off by saying what a complete pain this has been. I initially called about my tire being flat and I spoke to a lady about my car being towed to this location. I specifically asked if I couldn't afford their service are they able to hold my vehicle for me. I wasn't able to get a ride to the store at that exact moment but I arrived at 6:15 PM and they're not here! They left my vehicle unlocked and the window down so I am extremely frustrated with this. I don't understand what kind of business closes down their store early and ignores their customers! I tried calling another store location and I got the run around / short end of the stick about getting my car keys. The other store manager I spoke to took my number down and I didn't hear anything back.
