I had a really disappointing experience at the Ted Wiens location on South Rainbow Blvd. I've brought my car in before and paid around $115-$116 for the same service, so I expected a similar experience this time. I dropped my car off at 7:45 AM to be serviced, but when I came back at 8:30 AM, it hadn't even been touched--and there didn't appear to be any other cars waiting ahead of mine. Then I was told that because they needed to remove the turbo (which I know only takes about 30 minutes of labor), there would be an additional $80-$90 charge. That didn't make sense to me, especially since they've serviced the exact same car before for much less. To compare, I took my car to another Ted Wiens location on Fort Apache, and they completed the service for $84--and that even included a tire rotation. Based on this experience, I won't be returning to the Rainbow location. I don't feel confident in their pricing or transparency, and I'd recommend others double-check quotes or consider other locations. read more

Edmund waited on me and completely took advantage of me! Took my car in to check suspension system because I had hit a couple curbs. He says I need new tires, 4 Bridgestone Alenza Ultra w/ 80k miles he quoted me $1,067.80, Also he showed me how to get zero financing for 6 months. After spending hours there I was anxious to get home, where I looked at my invoice, which was $1600! They also charged $130 for alignment, $120 for tire service package, plus tires disposing fees. These tires get terrible ratings bc tread reported to barely last 30k miles. GO TO Costco where you can get the same tires much cheaper and with free guarantees! Or a much superior rated Michelin tires for less than the poorly rated Bridgestones that were filthy and look like not mounted tightly to rims! Also, beware, their financing rolls over to 39% if you are late for payment. I would NEVER taken out a card with that APR if I had known in advance. COSTCO has huge selection, great deals, and are honest and trustworthy. Avoid Ted Wiens at all costs!!! read more

They tried to over charge me for labor that was not needed. I took my car in for an oil change and they took the wheels off to rotate them they broke a bolt and were trying to charge me over $200 to fix it. I left had it fixed somewhere else. Never going back to this location. read more

I brought my 2019 Mustang in because of a persistent check engine light. The shop charged me for a fuel cleaning, smog check and monitor reset and told me my vehicle was good to go. My car was running nicely for less than a month..When I called to follow up, I was told there was no warranty on the work they did and that I'd need to pay a full diagnostic fee again just to look at the same issue. I cant lie, im upset that the problem wasnt fixed. But I cant solely blame them. No shop has been able to figure out the issues. He blamed it on an employee that had recently been fired. They took the car back and came back to me with other things they said were the problem for the leak that they didn't catch when they changed the oil. Was a return customer until today. I walked in while waiting on the phone with my doctors office a gentleman greeted me and I informed him I needed an oil change. At that my doctors office got back online and that's when the gentleman helping me stated I need my brakes done , I said I didn't have the money at this time as I'm in a hardship. He then began to push and stated that they are low and need to be taken care of, I stated to him again that I'm only here for an oil change. He said you were at 2mm I then placed my doctors office on hold and informed again I don't have the money and how embarrassing it is for him to keep pushing the issue when I understand the importance for them to be done. He returned with " well maybe don't come in here on the phone when talking to me". I absolutely was shocked never again will I patronize any of your locations. I normally take my vehicles to this Ted Wiens as they always provide Excellent service. I recently made the mistake of taking my car to Meineke at 500 S. Buffalo for an O2 sensor repair which was done incorrectly and took over a month to get fixed correctly. It was only repaired correctly after I brought my car to Ted Wiens to fix Meineke's mess up. They noticed they had routed the wiring in correctly causing more damage and costing me a lot more money for a PCM and programming that I wouldn't have needed if it was done correctly in the first place. I had to get 4 tires on my VW Gti a while back and they were very quick, friendly, and I have been totally satisfied with the purchase so decided to go back. I had done my own suspension work on my Land Rover LR4 and needed an alignment. I had specific instructions so that the suspension wouldn't go into fault mode before the alignment. They followed them perfectly, my suspension didnt fault and the alignment is perfect, steering wheel is straight, no pulling at all. Do not bring your car here. Simple. I won't go on a long tirade about how James the manager is a shady fellow, you'll notice when you approach and see the puss coming from the sores on his neck. He cares as little for you, or your car as he does for his own health and well being. Ted Wiens on Rainbow has cost me over $2000 in additional costs outside of the $1200 bill I received for an oil change, tune up, to replace a cable for the hood and replace two tubes on radiator. My truck broke down within 30 miles, overheating due to a faulty fix on the radiator. They then said, "just call the warranty center, nothing we can do". When I let them know I had packed up my truck with all my belongings and was headed out of town, and stranded near bolder city. James instructed me to fill the radiator with water and drive it 5 miles to Big O tires in Henderson (who are GREAT!). He met me there and told Big O, " don't tell me what it cost, just get it done" which seemed like he was making up for everything. Except James didn't pay. Now my truck is being held Randsom and Ted Wiens won't do anything. They won't pay. James told me on the phone just now, "I don't care, you do what you have to do". Well, I have do this... I'd like to tell you, avoid this place. Not worth your time and effort. I took my truck to them nearly two weeks ago... and now it's being held for a debt they won't pay. My car was making a thumping noise off and on when going up a curb or turning after being stopped. The dealer stated shocks, which i had since changed, but it wasn't the cure. We were headed on vacation and wanted to ensure its road worthiness before we left, so Firestone went over it and couldn't find what was replicating the noise but did ensure it's road worthiness and didn't charge us because they didn't have an answer but they gave me peace of mind and that sometimes is worth it all. Thank you for allowing us a safe vacation!! I could say it's more than what the dealer would've done... They wanted to go after a parts exchange, which would've cost a fortune! I let him know what I needed done and he told me exactly how we'd go about it. I went in and picked out the tires I needed to for my new rims and within a couple of hours my car was ready. I do not trust this service center. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change which shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes, but an entire vehicle inspection was done without the service adviser telling me what was going to be done. The vehicle inspection took over an hour and a half. If i had requested this service I wouldn't have a problem, but when it's done without my knowledge, it's very intrusive. For this reason i gave them a 1 star, but I would've given them no stars if I had that option. read more

Need an alignment after careless parking. Oops. Call Ted Wiens, they say they can accommodate , I've got big tires and it's going to be $99. I will park a little, actually a LOT more carefully! Waiting area is clean but a little dated with hard plastic armless chairs. There are a couple of vending machines and a kids table. The alignment CANNOT be done, it needs to go to a 4WD specialist but I'm happy they told me and didn't try to 'botch' it. I'll give them another try however with a more routine fix. read more

Went in to get my brakes done before work and just walked in if I needed an appointment to get my car for service. Really nice people in the front and very informative. When you're car is being inspected they give you a text and they let you know what it really needs to get service. There's also a link they give you to check everything you need to get done for your own car. It's really cool they have that. Now it's visualize not just by word. I brought my car into Ted Wiens. They told me my engine had seized and my best option was to sell them the car as junk for $200. I contacted an honest Mechanic and he told me the car was probably repairable. Rather then sign the car over to them I picked it up, paid the ridiculously high diagnostic charge. The car started right up and drove! The car required additional repairs but it was not "junk" that was only worth $200! They tried to steal my car. Took my Lexus GS 350 in on 9/2 to get a oil change and have them check a slow leak on rear tire. Turns out there's a pinhole leak on sidewall of tire. They say they can't legally fix..fine. Tried to sell me a different brand z rated tire. Said no thanks. When I pick up my car first thing I look for is my wheel lock. Nowhere to be found. So I go back in the store and sure enough they forgot to put it back in my car. Fast forward to today 10/5 I get an engine light in my car while pulling in the driveway. Open the hood and my oil filler cap is missing with oil spilled all over my engine bay. Oil cap nowhere to be found my engine is enclosed it couldn't have fallen out of the bottom of the engine bay and when you shut my hood it's flush with the top of the engine filler cap so it shouldn't of been able to even come out. I am so pissed!!! How much damage has my engine been through because of this? Now I have to get a whole new oil change and oil cap engine oil is dirty. I will be calling first thing in the morning if it is resolved I will fix this review. Update: Thank you Billy and Ted Wiens. They went above and beyond to make things right. Stopped in for a flat tire, got it fixed but then came the sales pitch. Told me I needed 1,152.20 of repairs! They gave me information, I needed shocks ( as they are leaking) and struts, brake system flush, I service my car at Lexus of Las Vegas at 5000 mile increments. I had my shocks, struts and a brake flush done all within 8,600 miles ago. Lexus advices I don't need any service at all at this time! As with your normal oil change and work to vehicles, they performed an inspection and saw that there were several things wrong with my vehicle. They were correct on all of them as they were things we neglected to address for a while now.
