I've had a great experience every time I have come here. One of the only auto shops in Tucson I have repeatedly come back to. Be careful! The front desk person said the diagnostic fee would be waived if the problem was the warranteed part, but the manager required I pay the diagnostic for after the issue was determined to be the waranteed part. The manager went on to say that diagnostics that find nothing wrong still charge the fee. The fee is always charged. read more

Recommended this place to my daughter because when I used them I had no issues. Not sure what happened but no longer recommend this location. Here's why: 2016 Tacoma Brought in for alignment. 6 June 20. Told them it pulls to the left. When my daughter is paying her bill she noticed that they charged her for a steering angle sensor (SAS)calibration. She didn't authorize it. They say "oh we forgot to take that off we just put it on there" So she drives it away and now it pulls to the right. Why she didn't take it back the same day IDK. She calls them on the same day and makes an appointment for the upcoming Wednesday 10 June 20. Incidentally they tell her in the phone call that because she didn't get the SAS calibration done that may be the cause. Of course but why didn't you explain that the first time upon completion? Turns out that has/had nothing to do with it. A buddy of mine who does alignments for a living came over and brought his Snap-On gizmo and we did it on our own. My buddy said after looking at the spec sheet that they messed up the caster based on the before and after numbers... So I take off work to go talk to these guys. I tell them exactly what they need to do. Set the left front wheel caster to +2.0. Oh and set the air pressure to the correct amount since they didn't do that either when they rotated the tires on the Saturday event. She has a 9:30 appointment. They roll her truck in the bay at 11:00. So much for an appointment!! They finished at 12:30. They didn't set the caster to as asked. And as a bonus they rotated the front tires because they wanted to see if that would fix it. Guess what? Still pulls right. And they blame the tires. Funny how a truck that was pulling left that now pulls right could have bad tires. Especially since they swapped the front two only. If it was the tires then the pull would've swapped back to the left. Oh and they did a SAS calibration again too! Bottomline, don't recommend this place. Money was wasted! Still pulls. Talked to the manager and he is receptive to a refund of the charge for alignment. We'll see if that happens. I took it to another shop and they fixed it! No pulls! It can be fixed. Update: changed the rating because they refunded the money. Thankful that they handled it correctly. read more

They recommended repairs that could wait, like brake pads that still had 1/3 life yet. They said well its so thin, really. They installed a thermostat that was defective. They removed my strut tower safety crossbars on top of the engine compartment then lost them, then said I had to prove they were there before they wold pay for them. They left the compressor with a bolt attaching it, but no nut to keep it on. They left other things unattached or semi-attached too. Later my wife recalled seeing a young guy picking up several long black metal rods. putting them in a box and took them out to the trash. That was our crossbars. read more

Another shaming post - this time it's for @brakemasters211 @brakemasterssocal #brakemasters Took the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu in to have the A/C checked - was working previous to this appointment- Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - literally last weekend paid them $571 and some change to fill the a/c - they needed to fix a line - ok fix- on the way to work yesterday and at lunch - the a/c just stops working - hot air nothing - light doesn't even turn on- husband called - of course "if you can bring right in" - get here - not the same guy husband spoke with- have the car running in the parking lot to show the morons what is happening - was told is now "a wiring issue and has nothing to do with what they did" - are you serious?? Husband calls again - 10 minutes later they clean and plug back in a sensor?? I've been taking my 2002 Subaru to Brake Masters for several years now. They have always been courteous and polite. They keep computer records of my service history that have been very helpful to me in managing the car's maintenance. About a week and a half ago I took the Subaru in for it's (sorta) regular oil change. While they were performing the oil change, the tech noticed major wear on the inside treads of all four tires ... something that must have happened in the last several months since my last oil change. The diagnosis was faulty struts allowing the tires to toe out of alignment. They showed me the tire damage, explained the situation and offered me several options for replacement struts. Their recommendation was legit ... much longer on the tires in the state they were in could have been very dangerous or even fatal for me (and others, as well!). They also helped me arrange a new set of tires through another vendor (they're not in the business of selling tires) and even picked up the new tires for me. Since installing the new tires and struts the car performs perfectly. The road noise that I'd incorrectly attributed to Tucson's deteriorating street conditions has disappeared. I'm a satisfied customer and I will continue to get my car serviced at this Brake Masters location. read more

BM located at 9540 E. 22nd Street Tucson, Az. We took my wife's cherry 2008 4runner in for an alignment which, with a coupon, cost $69.95. They recommended new camber bolts at a cost of $45. They did a general inspection and recommended new shocks/struts ie Monroe struts $339 and rear shocks $239 with labor a total of $806.80. The struts and shocks they recommended may be purchased for $350 on line. Do the math. They recommended power steering and brake fluid flush service at respectively, $64.95 and 39.95. I declined all service except the alignment and at that point the service writer at the front desk increased the cost of the camber bolts to $177.36 adjusting the price of alignment to 247.31! BEWARE ..for the record nothing wrong with the stock camber bolts. The mechanics I spoke to were legit the corp culture is UP-SELL so act accordingly. read more

We have taken our Honda in twice for brake pads, first time they were replaced at a reasonable cost, and the second time they told us they were not due for replacement yet. They could have easily changed them anyway and charged us when it wasn't necessary, but they didn't. This is why I will go back when it is due. Thanks BM! read more

Extremely over priced on any repairs by almost 100% and more. They charged me over $800 to change an in the tank fuel pump on my Chevy Van. Should have been less than $400 for the fuel pump job. And over $600 to fix an oil leak. The hispanic asst. manager is also liar and a crook. He will tell you need new fan belts and a oil change you don't need (at outrageous prices). On my van the belt was just fine and didn't need replacing (only 2 years old) and the oil changed just a month ago with less than 500 miles of use. Avoid this place like the plague unless you like being screwed. read more

My car was constantly breaking down. We kept taking it to a self owned shop to be repaired but the problems never stopped. More recently, car had the worst breakdown yet. I called break masters to see if they would do the types of repairs the other shop did (I only used BM for oil changes). They said yes and told me they would take care of the towing and walked me through the different pressure checks and stuff they would do. I called the other shop and they would have charged us almost triple to do what BM quoted, without towing. BM ultimately did a gasket check and found that I blew a head gasket. While my family and I were weighing the pros and cons of getting this all fixed, BM was patient with us, holding our car (for 3 weeks), answering every question, giving us detailed estimates and printouts... We ended up just getting the car towed back to our place as we are still unsure of what we want to do but BM was a huge help. They gave us a big discount for the services they did provide as well as for the total estimate. Friendly service through and through! read more

Came here for alignment based on two people's recommendation. The shop quoted me a great price. Much lower then shops that specialized in European cars or BMWs. The alignment tech here, Erek was very helpful. Although they usually just align to factory specs, Erek worked with me to align to the specs I wanted. I also had some questions to confirm what I was trying to do and overall questions on how different adjustments affect the car; Erek patiently answered them all. I was told Jerry was the owner or manager here. He came by a couple of times to check on the alignment to make sure everything was going ok. We talked about cars for a bit. It just shows they care about what they do here. Erek even put some painters tape on my rim to protest it from getting scratched up. Great customer service. I would highly recommend this shop. read more

I needed my oil change and this Brake Masters location is about 5 min aways from my home. My boyfriend was a doll and took my Jeep in to get serviced. He got a standard oil and air filter changed. Customer service was fine. When my boyfriend brought my Jeep to me, I took it to run errands, thats when it happened. I went to turn the A/C on and the worst possible thing that can happen to a car owner in TUCSON AZ happened, no air was blowing. Now, before my Jeep was serviced the air condition blew wonderfully but afterwards it didn't blow at all. Needless to say, I panicked. Thankfully, my coworker loves cars and loves any reason to stare at an engine. It turns out that when my air filter was replaced the lid was not put on properly. Since there wasn't a seal the A/C was unable to run. It is a rookie mistake which could have easily been avoided by the technician who serviced my vehicle. Not impressed. My coworker however gets 5 stars! read more

Had an alignment done. Pulled to the right. Got it back after being serviced, still pulled to the right. A month later excessive wear on inside of driver's side tire. The shop doing the current alignment just made me aware that whoever did the last alignment never tightened down the bolts...Thanks Brakemasters for putting my safety and life at risk!! This location performed my last oil change, but I decided to do it myself this weekend. It took me nearly an hour to remove the oil drain plug, completely stripping the bolt head in the process because it was WAY over-tightened. They clearly used an impact wrench to install the plug during last oil change. Luckily I was able to find a replacement plug at an auto parts store, as the old one was destroyed during removal. Their ability to screw up something as basic as an oil change causes me to question the integrity of the brakes I've had them work on. I will NEVER return and urge others to do the same. read more

Shop was recommended to me by a friend. We had three emissions codes and thought the repairs were going to be outrageous. The manager Jeff and his crew were excellent. They diagnosed the problem and fixed all three codes for half of what we were expecting to pay. My husband thought that he would have to leave the car there for a day to get everything foxed and they did everything in 2.5hours. Fast, excellent, trust worthy, and reasonably priced!!!
