Verily easy to schedule on phone and went in next day. Greeted by Sean as I entered Sat- and just the nicest person to visit with as he got all set for me. My appt was at noon and although al the service itself was a tad delayed, it worked out well for me. I had a really nice waiting room with coffee choices and water available to get if wanted. TV in there but not on and truly all I need is phone to get things done. When appt was complete, I was already in lobby and Sean let me know only one tire guy there due to call outs and explained why it stretched a bit. It was fine, I understand and then as checking out, we chatted and spoke about the awesome rural places we both reside. He spoke of his family and way of life and that few minutes just made it so much more pleasant to get this necessity completed. If you value your vehicle's safety, do not bring it here. I brought my meticulously maintained 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe here for routine oil changes using a Groupon. On my second visit, a manager tried to scare me into a $700 passenger-side CV axle replacement that I didn't need. When I returned for my third visit on April 11th, that same manager doubled down. After I confronted him with research proving CV axles don't magically fail between oil changes, things took a deeply alarming turn. I went outside and discovered my car was not on a lift or in the service bay, it was parked completely around the back of the building which the current manager, Joseph, has formally admitted on the record is a direct violation of official company protocol. Another manager, Angelo, checked the car, confirmed the CV axle claim was completely false, and the shady employee was apparently let go two weeks ago due to a pattern of dishonest behavior. However, the damage was already done. The second I drove off the lot on April 11th, my radio, dashboard presets, and vehicle settings were completely wiped and reset to factory defaults. Shady mechanics do this by disconnecting the battery or using a scanner to force-clear error codes and hide warning lights. Worse, they failed to even give me a new windshield mileage sticker and I had to go back to get one. Since that exact visit, my vehicle has suffered from a severe "dragging" sensation upon acceleration and odd shifting. It is highly probable my car went without oil, was refilled with completely incorrect oil, or was physically tampered with during that unprocedural time around back. On May 22nd, I took the car to the Oracle Rd. location to redeem my final oil change, only for them to put it on the lift and suddenly point out a massive, active turbocharger oil leak. The Oracle location may very well be covering for the Valencia site's liabilities. Corporate customer service (Case Reference: 4373693) has repeatedly stalled, and the District Manager, Mike, has failed to contact me. When I brought the vehicle back to Valencia for a manager walkthrough, a technician who was present during the April 11th incident conveniently pretended to have amnesia. They never offered to make it right or even to compensate for gas to come in. Because this business broke protocol, handled my car in an unmonitored area, and effectively compromised a major mechanical system, I am demanding that the corporate office immediately preserve the back-alley security camera footage. I am completely uncomfortable letting this company touch my car again. I am invoking my right to an independent, third-party diagnostic teardown at a certified Hyundai dealership, and I expect this company to cover the towing, direct dealership repair costs, and a rental vehicle. Until they take accountability for their technicians' deceptive and damaging actions, stay far away from this network. I am allowing for opportunity to make right what has been done by this company before I proceed with a lawsuit. I am a mom who is now out of a vehicle, at no fault of my own for trusting a company to perform a service that was paid for and I expect this to be resolved swiftly.

POOR COMMUNICATION, WRONG CAR, AND UNFINISHED WORK. Garner Automotive was recommended to me for…read moresome work. I made an appointment by phone in advance and dropped off my car in person for a quote on replacing 2 struts and for an oil leak dye test. I spoke with J. in the front office and I noticed he had the wrong car notes for my vehicle. I pointed this out and then we spoke for 10 minutes about the details of my car and what I brought it in for. I went over ongoing work on the car and told him specifically what has been or is already being done with the vehicle including the battery and valve gasket. I was assured that J. would check in my car and note the account for me, no call in required. Unfortunately, after 3 days when I was finally able to reach someone at the garage over the phone they sent me an email quoting me for another car's maintenance including work I did not request and work I specifically mentioned had already been done on my car. When I called them to correct the issue they were very hesitant to send me a fixed quote and were unable to answer simple questions about my car. The new quote included what I wanted but only had the information I had given when checking in the car with no additional information or a report of an oil leak test. I went in person to get to the bottom of what was happening and at this point they had my car for 1 week. The man at the front desk was incredibly defensive and aggressive about the situation, admitting he had written the wrong notes and that a oil check as I requested had not been performed because of the work that is still being done to the car as of when I brought it in. The state of the car and what I needed was made clear when I dropped it off and it had not been communicated that there was an issue. At this point, a number of things were said that I found worrying: "I would have charged you more had I known you wouldn't do more work with us," "it's an old car no point looking past the first issue," "we do not take pictures of our work at any stage," "we do not do written notes," and I was also questioned on why anyone would use more than one mechanic ever as if people do not move or have different types of vehicles at the very least. As the front desk man had caused some of the communication issues, I understand the defensiveness, but there was clear intimidation in the attitude and then after a long time a second man came in just to silently loom behind him the rest of the time, never contributing to the conversation and also unable to answer any of my simple questions about the vehicle. Very unfriendly and I am very unhappy with this experience so far. To be clear the quote for 2 front strut replacements was about $1450.00 on an older Toyota, and I decided to not do this work with them firstly because of the poor communication and note keeping this time. Secondly, they charge more than 2x market price for parts. The oil leak dye check has still not been performed but after much hem-hawing I was assured that I can bring my car in this next two weeks to do it, but was also told that it may take them several weeks to complete an oil leak test, which was not completed the first week they had the car. This is no regular timeframe. Who can wait over three weeks for just an oil leak test? Cost: $140. They said they "price similarly our neighbor, Borst Automotive, perhaps coming out a few dollars cheaper." Due to the unprofessionalism and poor state of vehicle on pick up inspection no longer comfortable doing business with Garner.

The little touches that made them stand out are gone. They no longer provide a complimentary car wash after service, they let go of the driver who used to take customers home, and none of the management team that was there last year is still there. The entire atmosphere of the shop has changed, and not for the better. I explained to Fernando, the general manager, that my vehicle had mostly been sitting in my garage since July and that I wanted a routine service along with an inspection of a specific issue I had asked them to evaluate. Instead, I was sent an estimate for nearly $5,700 that didn't even address the repairs I specifically brought the car in for. Several items were marked as "critical," and the estimate instructed me to call with any questions. When I called to review the estimate, Fernando immediately responded, "Didn't you get the report I sent?" I explained that I had, but I'm not a mechanic and wanted someone to explain what the findings actually meant. He told me I needed both my front and rear suspension replaced because of the control arms. However, when I pointed out that the inspection report only said the manufacturer recommended the rear suspension and didn't identify it as a problem, he suddenly backed off and said it wasn't necessary at this time. The conversation became increasingly frustrating. His tone was pushy, dismissive, and argumentative. He accused me of having the vehicle serviced somewhere else in November and implied I hadn't maintained it properly. I explained that the car had been sitting in my garage from July until March and that the only reason it was seen elsewhere was because the battery died and needed to be replaced. He then insisted that I had been driving the car extensively because it had accumulated 2,000 miles. I had to explain that those 2,000 miles were driven over an entire year, which is actually very low mileage. At that point, I realized I was arguing with the person inspecting my car about facts that he could easily verify from the service records. That was enough for me. I sent the inspection report and estimate to a trusted friend who is an experienced mechanic in another state. He immediately told me that the quoted prices were roughly double what they should be and advised me not to have the work done there. I have since found another mechanic who treated me with respect, took the time to explain what my car actually needs and quoted much more reasonable prices.

John, the manager, called me out to the shop to show me that my wheel was bent. He said there was no point in an alignment check until the wheel was replaced. Unfortunately, it was a factory wheel so I was going to get gouged from the dealer. John refused to accept payment for the balance because the problem wasn't fixed. A couple days later I stopped back in with a new wheel in the box. John had his guy's mount my old tire on the new wheel, balance it, and then do an alignment on it. (I won't tell you the price I paid because I don't want to establish a precedent, but I can say I've spent more on dinner for my family). I tried coaxing John into charging me more but he responded only by saying, "Just buy your tires from us." Well, that's an easy one for me when that time comes!
