I stopped in yesterday morning because I had an oil light come on. The tech checked my oil and said it was fine and the light was just telling me it's time to be changed and it was safe to drive it to work and back. I even scheduled a 3pm appointment for the change. When I left work the oil light came on again and then the check engine light came on so I immediately stopped my car. I checked the reviews online and made the decision not to take it there. The electronic message on my car said to take it to a mini service center. I called and cancelled my oil change and found another repair shop who had a mini technician and great reviews. The tow cost me $227 and the repair is going to run about $600. The mechanic at Garrigan's on Golf Links said my oil was 3 quarts low. With a mini there is a special way to check the oil. So the guy at Pima Automotive obviously had no clue. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but this experience was so bad I feel obligated to warn others--especially anyone on a tight budget. I'm homeless and living out of my car, so every dollar matters. I called about getting my front brakes replaced because they were squeaking. The owner, Bob, told me I could save money by buying my own parts and that they would install them for $189 plus tax. Sounded fair--until I actually got the bill. I ended up being pushed into applying for EasyPay financing, and once everything was said and done my total was $602--on top of the $230 I spent on the parts myself. That's over $800 just for front brakes. To make matters worse, after waiting over 5 hours, they told me my car was ready. I drove off and within minutes the caliper literally fell off, seizing up my tire. They had to call a tow truck to bring it back. I had no car, nowhere to sleep, and ended up spending the night in a park because my car is my home. This shop took advantage of my situation and delivered unsafe, sloppy work. After only receiving a small advance on the sake of my condo, I just didn't quite have enough money so I gave them $500 and left it with them. Today, due to further complications in receiving the funds from the sale of the condo that my late father left to me, I called and told them that I would be in tomorrow morning. I called ahead to make an appointment. I was quoted a price. They asked what vehicle had they even quoted back to me that my vehicle takes 7 quarts of oil when I went to get the service, they came back at me and told me that it takes two extra quarts of oil for a total of 7 quarts and it was going to be extra. It's no wonder this place has such a poor rating if you're looking for an honest and fair treatment and people to back up what they quote I don't recommend going here when they tried charging me extra. I said I will not pay any extra, but you could back my truck out and I'll take it from here. Best way to test a shop is to have your lady bring your vehicle in. Not only did they try and sell her several things that weren't needed, like a $200 blinking light box for "pack rats" they actually took the time to throw a hand full of palm seeds in my air cleaner to justify their scam. I thought that was bad, then got my other vehicle back from them missing an amp and they tried buying the vehicle from my lady with a LOW, low ball offer and tried telling her how fair it was. I wanted to support a small, local business but regret it now. They replaced the motor mounts and struts on my car. I feel every little bump now. The invoice was blank for info on the brand and/model number they used. I called several times to discuss this and was promised by Vinnie ( the front desk person) that they would get back to me with the info. I was even told the owner would call me, but never heard back. I also asked for him to email me the information to avoid any possible missed calls but have not received any information that way as well. Beware of their offer of being able to finance the work with no interest if paid off within three months. This ended up being a credit card that charges 149% interest if not paid off. I own my mistake as I misread it seeing 14.9% as surely 149% couldn't be correct. My bad. After realizing my mistake. I'm going to pay it off immediately, but it still felt misleading. Although their first impression is professional and trustworthy, they have proved the exact opposite. I now am taking it to a large franchise to find out why it runs worse. read more

Do not go to Pima Auto they will nickle and dime you. They charge a 3% on my credir card which I think is fraud. I already pay a percentage on my card. Certain things needed be done without showing. I purchased $600 worth tires last October and was told they were under warranty. Yesterday, my mechanic showed me a defect in one of the tires. This shop failed to honor what it promised to me. They initially said it was under warranty. An hour and a half later, the owner tells me he is going to charge me labor. Two hours in and he tells me he is prorated the tire! To be crystal clear: $12.95 oil change is an outright lie. Actual total cost: $54.68 I purchased my own oil and STP oil treatment at their recommendation, however, then I was told I had to pay $20 for labor, $4.95 for an oil filter, etc. So I spent $25 at Auto Zone and paid $29.37 for the oil change. It makes no sense. The owner tried to give me an excuse that my car is old and needs 10w30 oil, however, I provided them with 5 quarts of oil, everything except the oil filter. I had to ask for the remainder of my oil back too actually. I saw the owner try to hide it when the mechanic Vinny had left it on a chair by the car. Sneaky sneaky. Speaking of Vinny: he's the only reason this shop got 2 stars. He said I needed to replace an axle and showed me the damage while the car was on the lift. He is very personable, informative and shows a true dedication to his job and insuring the safety of a vehicle. Bait and switch kinda place. I took my car in for the brakes to be fixed and they found a problem with the cv axle. They showed me the car jacked up. I'm not a mechanic at all. I want my family safe so I said yes. When we got the car back the bill was 3600$ and our skid plate was dragging on the street. I called them back and they said bring it back in. Took our vehicle to get an estimate on removing a snapped hub bolt. We were quoted $250 for labor and parts. Later we were called to be informed that the vehicle had to be taken somewhere to have the bolt drilled out. We were NOT informed that there would be additional charges NOR were we asked if we approved the extra charges. Final bill was over $600+. And $19.95 for just one bolt when I can get 20 on Amazon for $35?? How would we have paid for this had we not had a credit card to back us up?? Total RIP-OFF!! At the end I have no choice to pay for a diagnostic which including swap battery to see if it is a issue but it was not. I had a great experience up until it wasn't. Came in for an oil change once they got it in the air they asked me to look it over with them. This is where they up sell. I knew the exact condition of my car considering I work for an automotive parts factory and other family in the industry. I told him " no worries, I know what is wrong with it" that's when he stated " we can't do an oil change with your axles in this condition." He was serious. I went in with the expectation that this was a legit business. That they would honor their commitment to fixing the issues I was having with my vehicle. It was supposed to be a simple fix with a new gasket for a leaking oil problem. They convinced me that they could fix it and that they would back their work. Not the case in either situation. Initial estimate was $170. They called about an hour later and said that if I wanted to truly fix the issue that they would have to replace the other gasket which was the actual oil leak issue. When I asked about the cost they said that it would be another $110. I asked, "Why didnt you fix that one and not the other gasket first if that was the one that was the issue?" Their reply, "We didnt look at it before we did the work." That is when I should have run! Instead, I figured you have the car, fix it! Oh they fixed it alright. My car was losing 1 qt. of oil per 5000 miles. At $5 per qt. I could have driven 300,000 miles before justifying the expense they hit me with for the repair work. Shortly after picking the car up there was oil all over the engine bay. I figured it was poor workmanship, cleaned it up, and drove my car for the next few weeks. I always check my oil levels every other time I fill up with gas. Again I noticed oil all over the engine bay. This time I took it back to Pima Auto Care Center to have them assess the issue. It had been less than 1000 miles since they "fixed" my car. I was told I had a 10,000 mile guarantee or 1 year on their work. They called me about an hour later informing me that it would cost me another $300 to fix this issue. They had cracked the plate where they replaced the gasket and, I'm leaking/spraying oil all over the engine bay. I asked them how this happened and they claimed that it wasnt their fault, they wouldn't honor their commitment to fixing my oil leaking issue and that they "could" fix this issue for another $300. I understand the world of Bait & Switch as well as being an informed customer. This shop is not to be trusted. I dealt with the owner personally and told him I felt this was either negligence or incompetence and that they would never work on my vehicle or anyone I knew. He reply was, "Your car is old, things break, but we can fix it." I told him it wasn't broken prior to you working on the car, why should I pay you to fix something that wasnt broke prior to my arrival at your shop? He asked, "what kind of deal could we work?" I still lose the same amount of oil I was losing prior to their service, just from a different place. Disgusted at the response to the poor workmanship and severe incompetence.
