I brought my car in for an oil change and a brake inspection. After a brief inspection The Tech I was working with, whose name is Michael, give me the bad news someone had stripped the threads on my oil pan and it would need to be replaced. Several other things were found, all of which fall in line with the car that is 18 years old. I have owned many used cars over my lifetime and while I did not want to spend what it would cost to repair it I knew it was the best thing. Nobody likes a big repair bill. The professionalism and Care shown by the entire staff at this location help make that bitter pill easier to swallow. The car was ready when promised and the bill was less than we had discussed because Michael had proactively found some coupons to apply to the job. Hats off to these guys. read more

I've tried other nearby mechanics as well and Brakes Plus always seems to be the most friendly, knowledgeable, low pressure, and trust worthy. I have gone to this place for years and recently they switched managers. They told me what it would take to fix my car, I had them do it and it didn't fix it at all. I took my car to Keller Brothers and they found two major problems that Brake Plus should have caught. It's too bad BP has gone downhill, hope their brakes work. read more

Went in for brakes (the car has 120,000 miles on it) and an oil change. I had a coupon and they are close to where I work. But it seems that the "129.00 per axle" brakes cost quite a bit more than that, what with the "Hardware kit" and other things like adjusting the parking brake. They also told me that my wiper blades were worn and needed to be replaced, although I had just installed new ones four days earlier. I don't think I'd trust them much after that. read more

Their service was acceptable -- until they had my keys and it was too late to back out. Before I agreed to have them work on my car I verfied that they could give me a ride in to pick it up the following morning, they assured me that would be no problem and the car should be done by around 9. I called at 10, called again at noon, called again at two, each time being told someone would be leaving shortly. On my third call, I started cussing out Billy and THAT finally got results, as I had informed him clearly that I had a 3PM appointment, and he said he would come and take me to that appointment in Aurora, then come get me after it... Uhhhh, HELL no. No way I was counting on those people for a ride twice. So Billy he said he was on his way. I live ten minutes up the highway from that Brakes Plus, it took him over 40 minutes to find my place. Even if I had wanted the ride to Aurora, he arrived too late to have gotten me THERE on time. When I got to the shop, not so much as a damn apology. It took them 5 hours to get me to my car. If they had been upfront about timing, or just not said they do rides at all, or ANYTHING more honest than what they did, I could have made arrangements, but they just kept stringing me along. Moral of the story being, they'll lie through their teeth to get your business then treat you like shit afterward. Do NOT go to this establishment if you have a job, obligations, responsibilities, or other people depending on you. Responsibilities such as, oh, for example, HAVING TO TAKE SOMEONE TO A CHEMOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT at 3:00, and Brakes Plus knowing about it five hours in advance and not giving a shitt. So, Billy, if you happen to read this, you know that little old lady you saw when you finally found my place? Yeah, hope you feel good about yourself now. read more

I am very disappointed with my visit this week to Brakes Plus, off of Arapahoe and Yosemite. I took my car into the shop because my brakes were grinding and I needed a free brake check like they offer. After inspection, Travis Collins, the general manager, called me back saying the back brake pads needed to be replaced because the rear one was metal to metal, and the other was low as well. Also I needed my calipers replaced and brake fluids flushed and replaced for a grand total of $613. Now, I am a 22 year old woman who was babysitting 2 babies each 11 months old and one 8 year old. I wanted a second opinion so I called Groove Toyota and he was very surprised by the fact that I needed new calipers and said Toyota's rarely need replacements. He said to bring it in and let him look at it and gave me an estimate of $215. Since money is tight, I elected to take it to Toyota and see what they said. I called Brakes Plus back and told them I will not be making the repairs they had suggested, and they told me that my car can't leave the lot in this condition and I have to pay for it to get towed! This is a complete scam for them to try and get my business by using scare tactics! Well, I ended up calling AAA and getting it towed anyways to the Toyota dealership. This morning I got a call from Toyota and they told me there is absolutely nothing wrong with my breaks and I just had cheap pads on them which was causing the noise! I am livid! I feel like Brakes Plus was trying to take advantage of me by being a young woman and the fact that I was preoccupied with 3 kids! I will NEVER be taking my cars back to them because they have completely lost my trust and respect. read more

Showed me all the brake work needed on 240,000 mile truck. Got the full estimates with discounts included. Went back next day and got it all done in the time promised. Brakes are working great. Had an alternator that got put on at another Brakes Plus in the past. I checked with them when it went bad sooner than expected, and found that it had a lifetime warranty. I stopped by the Centennial location on a Saturday and they put in a brand new alternator for free, minus the labor charges, in a matter of hours on a Saturday. These guys are the best!! Experts in their field. They won't try to dick you over or sell you something you don't need! They are honest and trustworthy and after a dealership sent me home with what I assumed was a dead battery these guys found the problem in less than 5 minutes and sent me on my way. These guys are certified pros. I drive a Subaru STI that was due for routine brake check up and they ended up finding something severely wrong with one of my calipers and because it's a higher end car it was going to be expensive. They covered the cost because it may or may not have been something they did wrong the last time it was in. They did have to special order the part and offered to get me in a free rental but I didn't need it. I highly recommend these guys and ask for Jake he took care of this whole mess for me and him and their team got my car back quickly. read more

I have taken my car here for 7 years as a loyal customer. I used to be able to trust them without question when Kent was managing the shop. Recently, I took my truck in for a vibration issue. They advised that I may need a new rebuilt drive shaft (est $350). They took the front drive shaft off and drove it. They said the vibration went away, thus indicating that the front drive shaft was indeed the problem. They ordered a new driveshaft (what happened to the rebuild?) and called me saying the repair would now be $800. I balked and said just to put it back together and I would come get it. They advised it would be $200 for the labor performed (unbolting a drive shaft?!). Pissed, I went and purchased my own rebuilt drive shaft for $180 and dropped it off. They installed my part at an increased rate of $110/hr (up from $85/hr). Two hours labor for this?! The vibration problem still persists. I spoke recently to a mechanic friend of mine. He advised that that front drive shaft would only engage if in 4WD. The vibration happens in 2WD. Totally the wrong repair. I guess now this shop is run by a bunch of scammers or are totally incompetent. Pretty disappointed that I have to go back on the hunt for an honest shop. read more

Graham and the crew are honest as it gets! A dealer told me I needed new brakes so I brought my truck to this Brakes Plus. They could have accepted my request for new brakes and did the work but they checked the brakes and found them to have a lot of milage left on them. I'll be back for brakes when I need them and any other services. read more

I made an online appointment to repair my brakes for 1 PM July 3, 2018 and was told it should be ready by 5. Found out my vehicle wasn't even inspected until 4 PM. I got a call from the General Manager, Travis Collins, at 5 PM I specifically asked the manager if it would be ready tonight before he started work and he said yes. The place closes at 6 PM. I showed back up before 6 PM and the wheels and brakes were off my truck, but no one was working it. Seems their scheme is to breakdown your brakes and then you are stuck because you have no options to get up and drive away. It took until 8:30 PM for them to finally get me my vehicle back. My time is valuable and having Brakes Plus waste my time is a crime. 7.5 hours for a brake job is completely unacceptable and waiting 2.5 hours past their posted closing time is completely unacceptable. (What Travis didn't bother to tell me was that they would stay until they completed the job and that the 6 PM closing time was not the time they would be done). Liars and thieves would be a fair description. read more

Brakes Plus did a shoddy job on my brakes. I nearly had a major accident because the brakes fell apart on the highway. I never got a call from the manager as promised and they ruined my rim. They did fix the car, but a 2 hour brake job cost me a whole day of frustration. read more

I brought my car in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I was told when the work was done that my car needed front brakes replaced. The whole thing did not make sense to me as it was not time to even check whether the brakes were needing to be replaced. I decided that I would not have the brakes worked on at the time. I took my car to a different service station a few days later and asked them to check the brakes. They confirmed that none of my brakes needed to be replaced and that there were many several thousands of miles still left on the brakes before they needed changing. Brakes Plus told me that if I did not fix the front brakes right away then my rotors would be damaged when continuing to use the brakes and it would be far more expensive to replace them later. I was told to avoid driving with the brakes in that condition. read more

AVOID!!!! Bought a $600 part, waited 4 weeks, during that time the car was totaled. Then the part came in--no refund, no credit---just stuck with a car part. Horrible. Not even sure if that was truly necessary in the first place; absolutely no confidence in this business. Dreadful company. read more

New management has no accountability. We've taken our cars here for years and have always had a good experience. We have trusted that the work was done and backed. Under new management, I had my Audi serviced for the 55,000 service and had to show them what needed to be done (from the Audi service manual). Having done that, I trusted that they would do everything that was needed. However, at 57,000 miles I got a notice that my Diesel Exhaust Fluid was low. I stopped in and asked about this. They said they filled it and that it must have been a 'firmware' difference in sensing the low fluid and I shoudl take it in to an Audi service center. At 59,000 miles I get the critical alert that my car won't work in 650 miles, so I call Audi, who tells me to just fill it up. I get some DEF at AutoZone and the alert goes away. Now I know they didn't fill it up, so I stop by and speak again to the manager and present the facts. He says that he wasn't here so he can't say anything about what was or wasn't done. I get that, but look at the facts, I say. There is no way it could have been filled. No accountability. You've just lost a customer for life! read more
