I know it's a band aid solution but I called Marco at 5pm and he graciously allowed me to come in. He was SLAMMED and yet managed to get me in. We both know it's a temporary fix and he set the proper expectation. Needless to say it got me on the road and headed back to my family. Most shops would take advantage of people from out of town especially knowing I wouldn't take it back to him if there was an issue but they did an honest, perfect, and clean job. Then they said they recommended changing the transmission valve body on the truck. I was without my truck from 10/29/24 to 12/10/24 Then again from 12/17/2024 to 1/14/25 holidays closed for a week that i understand Less than 100 miles later the same issues came up like when i dropped it off, keep in mind now i smell a fuel leak in cab and the check engine light never turned off. This would've been the 3rd time I dropped it off, however now I called today and was being told its going to be something else coming from the motor and that they only work on transmissions. The whole time i was without my truck they wouldn't answer any of my calls after a while or would they give me any updates. Beware of shop and don't go through what i just did. Its like neither my time nor money was respected at around 3k already. Now I have to find other options for truck and spend time to get a Lawyer and go through the process of trying to do a claim with the Better Business Bureau. We limped there at around 4 miles per hour as I shared with them our issue on the phone. Before long er arrived (all seven us traveling together) and unloaded at their business. It took them a little over three hours to find the proper parts, even make one part, and then rebuild the wheel and bearing housing. During the entire time, our 7 were aloud to operate the remote, hang out in their lounge, and they even served us bottled water. They kept me apprised of all the steps in the repair process and were so very kind. At the end - they charged us a very fare price and made sure we were safe for the 3 hour drive ahead of us. I came in for an oil change and right before I went my car was slow to start, when I got to Allstate transmissions , I told them that. I also said it only happened once. They didn't experience any problems with turning it off and on but tried to tell me I needed a new starter and quoted me $1225. I called my dealership and they quoted me $1146. When I actually took my car in, the dealership said I didn't need a new starter, my starter was fine. Instead they replace my coolant valve, which was under warranty. In addition, they almost would not honor the coupon I brought in. First they said it was old, I explained I received it a week or two ago in the mail. Then they said my car took a special kind of oil and pointed to the fine print. They tried to only take $20 off of a $125 dollar bill, the coupon was for $59.99. After having an aggressive and tense conversation with the manager regarding the fact that this should have been stated at the beginning when I showed them coupon, he begrudgingly honored it and stated this would be the fist and only time he would honor it! We agreed on that because I will never be back!!!
