On April 2, 2025 (Invoice #20513155332), I came to Brakes Plus for a complete brake replacement on my vehicle. The associate who helped me was Mike. I was charged $975.24 for what I was told would be a full and proper brake service. As a young woman without extensive car knowledge, I trusted your business to act with integrity and prioritize my safety. Instead, I was taken advantage of and put at serious risk. I have since relocated to San Diego. Roughly two months ago, my car began shaking violently and producing a loud, clattering noise every time I braked. Concerned for my safety, I took it to a trusted family mechanic who thoroughly inspected the brakes. What he found was absolutely appalling and infuriating: Old, low-quality, or reused brake components were installed instead of new ones. Critical parts were missing entirely from the brake assembly. No lubrication was applied where necessary, which led to severe wear and dangerous noise. The work was described by my trusted mechanic as "incomplete, lazy, and unsafe." I have photos taken during the inspection showing the missing clips, rusted parts, and lack of lubrication -- all of which are unacceptable given the almost $1,000 I was charged. These images clearly demonstrate the subpar quality and negligence of the service provided. This wasn't just poor workmanship -- this was predatory behavior. I was overcharged, under-serviced, and targeted because of my age and gender, assuming I wouldn't question or recognize a scam. This is not only unethical, it is dangerous. You compromised my safety on the road. I had to pay again out of pocket to have the brakes replaced and done properly. I am demanding a full refund of $975.24. This is not just about money -- it's about accountability. Businesses like yours do not get to profit from manipulating young, inexperienced customers while jeopardizing their lives. Please address this as soon as possible. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau, consumer protection agencies, and post online public reviews and social media platforms. read more

As the original owner of my 02 Toyota 4Runner. I have always used the same mechanic as he knew me, my vehicle, the quality of parts, and service I expected. I was devastated to hear he retired about six months ago. So, I asked my friends for a referral for a reliable mechanic and a great friend suggested going to see Ed at Brakes Plus on 83rd Ave and Deer Valley. I found the establishment clean, organized, and it smelled amazing, possibly a candle (in a mechanic shop?) so not expected! The fact is it felt warm and inviting. Ed was polite and knowledgeable. He took the time to hear my concerns and when I returned, he explained the repairs my vehicle needed. He even explained them in the priority I needed to get them done in. I cant rave enough about the service I received at this Brakes Plus. If I could give it a higher rating I would. I brought my car in for a check up as I was going on a long trip the next day. I was told by Mark that I needed a complete brake replacement. He worked with me to get me the best price possible. I didn't have a ride home or to the store. Mark had Paul take me to Walmart and then had him pick me up . Paul was right on time and brought me back to the shop. I was informed that they didn't have the right boot but even though it was late they found one at another Brake plus store. I waited and they fixed it with in less than an hour, after their usual closing time. While I waited the were so caring, water, candy etc. They did every thing above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I would recommend them to any body.. I've had numerous family vehicles repaired through the years knowing that Paul and his crew will ensure that repairs are done correctly. I've referred Paul to numerous friends and family with 100% repeat business. In fact, both my Son and Daughter live in California and will drive across the desert to have Paul perform scheduled maintenance and repairs. He went above and beyond to get my car in and out same day, making me a customer for as long as he works there. Dude seriously helped me out in a time of need, and made the entire interaction feel like I really was dealing with a buddy that works there. Had some serious issues going on with my wife's rear brakes on a 2016 Honda civic, Curtis and his team got it on the lift fast, had a diagnosis to me within an hour and I picked the vehicle up a few hours later. Nothing but great experience after great experience. I always call before going in to check how busy they are And most times I get the manager Mark Purcell right away telling me to come right in. I was in last week for my blinker switch and even though they had to order the part in and it would be awhile, the manager made sure I was still taken care of, my tire pressure checked and advised about an oil change in the near future. I wasn't the only customer to be treated as such, as the guy before me was even reminded of a special they were having that would help cut his cost. I needed what I thought were some brake pads for my front two tires, turned out my rotors had worn down too much as well and I ended up needing four new rotors and pads. They also told me I had a few other things to replace on my car that weren't an emergency but were recommended. As a 'starving college student' I didn't want to purchase all the unnecessary things, only the required brakes that were going bad. Just the pads and rotors were going to cost me a lot of money, but they gave me a discount as a student and made everything $400 even, which I thought was a fair price at the rate of one tire having a pad and a rotor for only $100. Recently one of our cars, a 2011 Chevy Cruze, had several problems. We chose the Brake Plus store on Deer Valley, in Peoria. Even though they were obviously busy, Paul the Manager, worked us in that day. They found the problems we took the car in for but also found that our A/C unit was rusted and making noise. In addition to the A/C compressor being bad, the Serpentine Belt was almost worn through and could've come off at anytime; causing major damage to the engine. Honest, good people. They could have easily taken advantage of me, but they didn't. My Toyota dealership told me that I needed new brakes ASAP. They got me all worried thinking that my brakes would fail at any moment. To save money I took my car to Brakes Plus for my new brakes. When they checked my cay, they said that I still have 60-70% of my brakes left and they were in good condition. No need to replace. I won't get my brakes or alignment done anywhere else. They are not only cheaper than most places, they are honest about the work and if the vehicle doesn't need the repair, they won't do it. I hadn't planned to do an alignment on my vehicle at this time, but due to replacing my tires unexpectedly, the front office gal Sabrina helped me to get the best deal I could get and it was done in a timely fashion. I would like to thank Tony, the Brakes Plus Technician at the Peoria location who serviced my brake pads last week. While this work was well done he noticed that a separation was developing on a tire and advised me of the potential danger of continuing to drive on it. The tire was immediately replaced by the store where I purchased it from.
