I would not recommend brakes plus to anyone. Con artists, and liars is all I have to say about this location. It started off with the brake pads got them replaced and the next day heard a grinding sound on the right pad. Took it back and they couldn't find anything wrong, my wife said call corporate so I did abd they replaced everything free no more problems. Got my shocks and struts replaced by them and they did a good job. So I've been having a performance issue for the longest time so I've went to them to see if they might know, as soon as I pull up the general manager Dean Anderson came up and jumped in the vehicle we did a test drive he said he doesn't notice anything out of the usual. So we get back to the shop he tells me to leave keys in car I use the bathroom come out few minutes later and the manager said no codes poped up your car is fine. I'm driving home and the car sounds ruffer than before I park in my n garage and pop the hood and my vehicle started spitting out coolant from the over fill and the car is v over heating. I call the general manager Dean Anderson back and I told him what happened and he automatically said it probably the radiator. So I told him I'll stop by in the a.m. with a tow, I never had over heating issues before so I call my trusted long time friend/ mechanic he comes does the pressurec test with the coolant system and the coolant system is fine he notices the fans are not running so I'm watching and he shows me they both have been (DISCONNECTED) he plugs them in and car doesn't over heat again. The next day I set up appointment online never heard a response that's funny. So I call back and (BRIAN) answers he told me that Dean isn't there if he can help me. I told him I'm having performance issues and if he remembers me going in. He said yes I told him my car over heated when I left and got home. So he automatically said "oh if It over heat on idle, that's the radiator. I told him that's funny that you and Dean both knew what exactly was wrong. He kept trying to change the subject and said he's been doing this for 15 years blah blah blah. Anyways it was the catalyst converter that was causing my car to lag and have performance issues. The check engine light came on and got the code scanned(p0420) well I'm buying a new car out the lot and will never go to this place ever again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. these con men need to be exposed. read more

Let me start by saying that there's a reason you see mostly great reviews about this location and only a couple that have had issues. Tom and both Johns have been incredible in cleaning up a nightmare from another "service" provider. Initially I came to Brakes plus for brake noise (as one would expect) and because I wanted to make sure a car from a family member was in good running order. After the free inspection, they determined that I needed rear brakes and I had that done. After picking up, there was still noise and I took the vehicle back in. Tom took ownership that he said the brake noise would be gone and it wasn't. They made it right, including changing the front brake pads and turning the rotors. Already an A+ experience. Where they knocked it out of the park was fixing issues caused by another provider after multiple visits and them only making things worse. I had a knocking sound coming from the right side of my vehicle and took it into this other provider. After several visits and multiple parts replaced, the sound was still there and they claimed that it may be coming from the front brake change. Really?! Ok, I'll check it out despite that not really making any sense. Needless to say, that was not the issue and there was another part sent from that failed provider to Brakes plus to try and resolve. In the end, after a suspension conversion and cleaning up several mistakes by that other provider... Brakes plus has improved the ride, gotten rid of the knocking sound and proven themselves to be honest, customer focused and genuine technicians. They have gone above and beyond on numerous visits and gracefully cleaned up the mess of another provider. Would recommend them to anyone looking to get quality work done at an affordable rate from a great team. read more

From the counter to the mechanics to the manager these guys are all super helpful . Recently I purchase an old Jeep something I've wanted for a long time. So here I am driving along happy as can be and my brakes go completely out emergency brake fails and I go straight through an intersection narrowly missing a head-on collision which would have ruined my life. I get the Jeep home and the next day go directly to Brakes Plus they are super busy but I explained my situation and the gentleman gets me in right away. During their inspection they find that the entire brake system is corrupted and suggest replacing everything. Seeing that I am a small business owner and do not have a lot of money we sit down and they go over everything that needs to be done and stuff that can wait we come up with a price that I can live with and within two days less than 48 hours they have Parts shipped in from California and my Jeep is done. After getting the jeep home I go to look at the work done and find that some of the things I said I could not afford they went ahead and did anyway at no charge. I highly recommend these guys and will be returning for any of my needs in the future thank you so much. read more

Just had a alignment on my car. Very friendly personnel and once finished showed me what the car was doing and how they fixed it, along with pictures. The facility is very clean and they do check on those waiting to see if we need anything. Mr. Brett Snyder checked me out and was the one that explained to me what was done. Not sure if he was the one that answered the phone when I called to confirm appointment, but that person was polite and made a big difference as to who I was going to go to. I had booked two other places and choose Brakes Plus. Price seemed reasonable. And it was nice to see that they were serious and yet still a sense of humor. I have a 2013 Honda CRV... I am from Houston... I took my CRV to Bell Honda for an oil change. Their service person call to tell me I needed new brakes... at the cost of 219.99 per axle. I was told the brakes were so bad that they would probably fail before I drove back to Houston (1250 miles). After a"free inspection" at Brakes Plus, I was told I didn't need brakes. Corey was not only very pleasant to work with, he took me to my vehicle and showed me I still had plenty of brake pad left on both the front and back... saving me over $200.00. I did have them replace the air filters and install new windshield wipers. I am in the process of moving back to Phoenix. I will definitely return to Brakes Plus for all my oil changes and repair needs in the future. read more

Needed my brakes done ASAP on a Saturday and these guys were packed- I'm a single mom of two and it's nerve racking getting anything done on your car when you don't know who you can trust. Brett was extremely understanding, patient and kind. He taught me about the brake system and took me into the shop to show me what had to be done and why. I ended up getting brakes, filter, oil change all within a few hours and left paying exactly what we expected. These guys were very courteous and did NOT try to hustle me for money or other things that were unnecessary with my car. I want to Thank John and serviceman at Brakes Plus and I'm back again. My oil was past due but it was extremely low and very dirty never seen it like this before. Did they really change my oil filter and fill it right with oil at this other place I'm really questioning now? Mom said let's go to my place as she is telling me all these great things about the mechanics and the work and integrity they have and we drive up, it's Brakes plus. Ok, I needed serious alignment work. I talked to Tom (manager) at Union Hills and 35th avenue and he told me he would have my 2000 camry diagnosed and aligned within 45min-and that's exactly what happened. I needed new wheel bearings on the driver side back wheel-so we set a next day appt. and he told me it would be about an hour and a half to complete the job with a new 4 wheel alignment. Next morning, got there at 8am and got my car back at 9:30am and my car drives like its new! I got a good discount and extra coupon discounts. Dean and his team are the best. As far as customer service is concerned, they excel. Always courteous and go the extra mile to make sure all your needs are taken care of without over-selling. Their prices are reasonable and they find a way to fix the problem. I never take my car to the dealer. Dean makes sure my warranty is in place and only does work that is necessary. Came in for the first time to this location because I thought I needed new brakes since they sounded like they were grinding. They checked my car out and informed me my car didn't need new brakes, my car was fine, didn't require any service and the noise was from minor salt corrosion on my rotors from living up north which doesn't cause any car problems. Took my truck for a brake fluid flush and the service was great. I scheduled an appointment on line and I only had to wait 30 minutes and the work was done. This place is awesome. I was able to schedule my appointment online the day before, brought it in first thing and they were ready to take my car in. They gave me continuous updates, broke items down on what my car needed, and kept me updated on progress. I would recommend this shop to anyone! These guys are fantastic, they were able to get our car in on a moments notice. We were leaving out of state the next day. They gave us a quote on our rear brakes and ended up staying in the shop 3 hours after close due to old brake lines. I love the honesty of the techs here. I'm a girl and don't know too much about cars, and I've had several friend tell me I need new front and back brake pads and new back rotors.
