I had been warned by a few people that the food was not going to be great but I guess I was unprepared for how awful it actually was. I was told to order the pizza and ask for it to be crispy, which I did. The crust was completely black to the point that I could not eat it and the dough was not cooked. I couldn't believe they actually let that pizza come out to the table like that but when the waiter asked how it was, I commented pretty burnt and he said he'd let the kitchen know. Uh ok. My friend had pasta that was supposed to have sausage and broccoli in it but it was very difficult to taste or locate either of those ingredients. She said it was pretty substandard. Really too bad because it's a great venue. Oh, and the waiter took 10 minutes to come over to our table when we were seated. He was not very attentive at all. I suppose it would be fun to hang out and listen to the music and have a couple drinks but I'd avoid the food. read more

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Tonight I visited Bari(Brambly's Italian restaurant) and I will be coming back! The host Olivia accommodated us for three under the patio immediately(which is beautiful and surprisingly clean for being so open), I noticed that the menu is large but it didn't disappoint in quality! our kind server Katie greeted us right away and gave us plenty of time to figure out what we wanted. We ordered the baked feta which was better than I could've imagined. Another server with the name Brie(I think) checked on us as soon as our waters started getting low(and they have that yummy crushed ice). Our entrees came out In perfect timing after we ordered, I got the chick Cesar(there was crunch in every bite!) with mash tatos which were cheesy and warm! My friends got the wedge salad(beautifully detailed for a wedge) the green beans(roasted to perfection) the Italian sandwich (very filling) and a plentiful amount of the waffle fries. Katie made sure to check on us and make sure we were enjoying everything and she didn't make me feel bad when we asked for details on dessert. (We didn't end up getting any ) when we asked for the bill she made sure to double check with us that it was correct. After we paid she didn't make us feel rushed to leave. Made a stop here during our day trip to Richmond and had a blast. The wine bar is pretty big, with two levels although the top floor doesn't open up until the evening. The inside is bright and beautifully decorated with an expansive, open bar. We opted to sit outside on their patio which neighbors the park. There's plenty of seating options, tables, grass, adirondack chairs. There was live music going as well and we really enjoyed listening to the music while we chatted and sipped on our wine. We got a few bottles of their white wine for the table and one of my friends did their wine flight which offered samples of their white, rose and a few other kinds of wines. They all tasted pretty great from what she said! I opted for their cocktails and my favorite was the haute tropique. Sweet, citrusy and delicious. Our servers were also fantastic and really upbeat which was great. We also ordered their charcuterie for the table and I loved the selection of meats and cheeses they had. Wow! What a wonderful dining experience, I ate outside on the covered patio with my fiancé and had such a wonderful time we had to stay for drinks and music in the park. Our server (Trey) was extremely kind, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu! My pizza was absolutely delicious, I recommend the stakki joe! SO YUMMY! My fiancés pork chop entree was cooked to perfection, the chef obviously poured their love into this dish. Next time I would like to try a wine flight, I didn't realize how many options there are!! Too much wine... not enough enough time..... even though there's never too much wine. I will be coming back here and telling all my friends and family and extended family and their friends and my hair dresser and quite literally anyone I see because this place deserves it! Located in an industrial area, I thought my GPS was wrong. Pulled up to a large white building. Oddly plain curb appeal. Here is this quite large warehouse of a building with a blank white canvas screaming to be drawn upon! Perhaps a beautiful depiction of grape vines swirling around wine glasses with vibrant greens and purple! We entered the restaurant and were greeted by the hostess. We were early so our table wasn't quite ready, so we walked around. It's an open layout so it's super, super loud. I think it was giving the wife some anxiety. We went outside to checkout the place. Much quieter on the patio and it was covered so no fear of rain ruining the evening. There is a super large picnic area for live events and quite casual. Being a winery, we assumed it would be more...pompous? Super casual! Our waiter was in shorts and a T-Shirt. It was a mixture concerning attire-so wear what you want! We were seated along the wall inside the restaurant where it was a long booth type bench, the opposing seats for the tables were these small, green, hard plastic chairs-way too low for the tables and unimpressive looking. I used the bathroom to wash my hands. Dark and dingy with paper on the floor, with no soap in the dispenser. So far, super disappointed. The menu is limited but they had one of everything so we were able to find something that looked interesting. The wife wanted to have a glass of the local wine but wasn't impressed. Ended up with a red blend, however. The rose' was bland and the pinot was a bit bitter. We ordered the appetizer plate of olives-can't go wrong with that. For entrees, the wife had the Crispy Eggplant- which was indeed crispy! I ordered the Shrimp Scampi. The 4 stars are for the food and the service our waiter; Andy, provided. Those two dishes were fresh and delicious! It's no wonder why the place was so busy. By the time we were done around 7:00 on a Saturday night the place had emptied out a bit and it was easier to hear each other speak. We hosted our daughter's Sweet 16 party at Brambly Park and it was PERFECT! In this crazy year, it was wonderful for these teenage girls to see each other and be normal kids for an evening. Brambly Park is just wonderful - the service, food and venue were all terrific. It's a great place for people of all ages to enjoy being outside in a COVID-safe way. We went to Brambly Park to see a band for their 'after dark' concert series. Reserved two Adirondack chairs. The ambiance of the place was great. Drinks seemed expensive. The biggest negative was that you can't see the stage due to the umbrellas from the tables in front. I would highly recommend for management to consider reconfiguring the seating or removing the umbrellas after a certain point in the day so that patrons can actually see the bands that they are paying to see. read more

Never been here but read that they had a St Patrick event so we went over. There was no "event" just St Patrick s day according to our really dumb or stoned server. Didn't even know it was a winery!! The venue itself is really nice. Sat outside, music was good. Beer is not cold, ordered the cheeseburger which was mediocre at best. Now the rub, ran a tab and when time to settle got an attitude for no reason. Signed the tab which seemed high, but figured it wasn't that bad. Got home and checked my receipt to find an additional 10% tacked on as a surcharge. Since no one mentioned this I called the venue to find out what this was only to be told it is a COVID surcharge to hand out masks and purchase gloves etc. Sorry, that's the cost of doing business today, however if you want to charge this there needs to be disclosure somewhere for the customers to see, just adding it and saying nothing is sketchy business practice, not to mention I'm sure the bulk they are buying at is less than 10% per check, making this a net profit line charge. In addition, I noticed my card was being double charged for the bill, was told that happened because the 1st bartender settled and then the 2nd bartender did the "actual" settlement. Be aware if you use a debit card the bank will take the money out of your account twice and place one charge back in a few days when the actual settlement come in. Overall will not go back read more

Went for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Reserved outdoor covered seating, which was nicely heated. We ordered wine and beer and a couple of appetizers to start. A glass was requested with the beer but did not come. We got the crab dip and calamari veggie apps. The crab dip was listed as served with baguette, but ours came with just 5 small slices of bread. The dip was served in a bowl, but barely covered the bottom of the bowl. Literally, dip spread on the bottom of the bowl, thin as a pancake. It was delicious and should have been more dip than that for $15. The calamari, veggie app was very light on the calamari. The four of us each got one piece of calamari. I think I got a piece of shrimp, but everything else was veggies. Again, delicious but very skimpy. After that we were ready to order some more food. We decided on a couple of delicious sounding pizzas, but when we ordered them we were told they weren't doing pizza tonight because they ran out of dough yesterday. Ummm... ok. Why didn't you tell us that when we got there? Kind of a disappointing visit. We ordered some pasta and eggplant instead. The food is good but just wasn't a top notch visit. I'm willing to give this place another shot, but they need to bump it up a notch. One person in our party had been there before and recommended the crab dip. My boyfriend and I met some of our family there. We enjoy wineries and were excited to try a new place, but did not enjoy our visit. There was not a goos wine selection and the 1/2 off promo online had been misleading. But the Worst was the food. There was limited selection and no options for children. One of our plates came out, and the potatoes were burnt and the steak was extremely fatty and the manager told us that was how the meal is prepared. Then my boyfriend had gotten a burger and it was not cooked evenly at all. We told the waiter and they did offer to take that off the bill, which was nice. But still not okay. Then after my boyfriend stopped eating his burger since it was partially raw, he got sick in the bathroom. This was mentioned on the way out because they had already paid and were outside. We spoke to a guy at the door and asked if we could have a bag for the ride home and that my boyfriend had gotten sick from the burger. He went in the back, came back 2minutes later and handed us a bag and that was it. It was an overall huge disappointment and potential food poisoning was just too much for us. read more

Our service was terrible....it took 2 hours to get our food. They were out of hamburgers on a Sat night at 7:30, out of the wine we ordered. The servers brought meals out at various times and couldn't identify what they were delivering. The pasta dishes were not prepared as described on the menu. After 2 hours the last meal was delivered to our table. They added a 10% service charge, for covid related expenses, without notification. Yesterday I celebrated a friend's birthday at BP. I've been to many restaurants and received great services; however, NEVER, have I received such exceptional service until I dined at BP. There were approximately eighteen people in our party (two tables). Our server (Trey) was absolutely phenomenal and he never missed a beat. He maintained his composure, continued to exhibit a pleasing attitude and disposition. I actual marvel at his uncanny ability to handle the customers issues/concerns. His professionalism and personable demeanor was beyond unmeasured. Trey should work as a trainer in teaching other servers how to act/react with a large, often time disgruntle crowd. The manager, John, was extremely accommodating to our need, request and fix any problems without hesitation. The food (chicken salad wrap and chicken wings) were delicious and portions great. This "Winery" is BS! The venue is really nice but unfortunately, the service & prices suck. We were unable to scan code for menu & waitress unhelpful & disappeared. Pulled menu up on Google & everything overpriced. Flagged employee down & was told that she couldn't take our order b/c it wasn't her job but that we could go inside to place our order w/ mask on. Had own masks but would still be charged 10% for PPE. Decided to leave & stopped by employee who informed us that we needed to wear mask to leave premises although we were outside w/ no one w/in vicinity. Had a great experience booking my wife's 40th birthday party at Brambly. The event coordinator, Bobby, was a huge help deciding on where on the property would be best for a party or size. He was very responsive, explained all of our options in detail, and even showed us the options in person to let us choose. The new inside event space looked really cool, but we decided on the outside option. Got a couple big tables right on the hill. There was live music playing when we got there at 6, which was a nice bonus. We were a little worried about how fast our orders would come with a party that size, but the service was excellent. Everything came very quickly, servers were really nice and accommodating. The ability to order on your phone or at the bar was crucial with that many people. Special thanks to the manager that night, different Bobby, who went out if his way to make sure we were taken care of. Ordered tons of food. Everything was really good. The pizzas in particular were a big hit. To top it all off there was a concert that night. Bobby arranged for us to get tickets ahead of time so our whole party could stay and enjoy, and the band was great. Awesome party all around. We'll be booking another one soon. Brambly Park is definitely a mixed bag. We are really happy to find a restaurant that takes reservations for their covered outdoor seating. Parking is a bit challenging, but they have a parking lot and are tucked away from the busiest parts of Scott's Addition, so it's much better that other sections of SA. However, Brambly Park has its shortcomings. Last night, our biggest disappointment was the wine service. Our food came out hot and quickly - too quickly - as our wine flights had not arrived yet. So, we waited and waited and waited until we finally flagged our server. "It will be right out", she said, which is 'server-speak' for "I don't have any idea why it's delayed and I check on it in a few minutes". Eventually, the flights arrived, but the Georgian wines were quite unimpressive. Noise is a problem on the patio - trains, fans, diners talking and live music - all make it difficult to carry on a conversation. Not much the restaurant can do about this, but diners should be aware. The tables (the four-tops) are quite small. With 2 pizzas, 2 pastas and 2 wine flights, we were maxed out - luckily we had not ordered an appetizer. Pricing for some items seems odd. When they first opened a couple of years ago, the impressive antipasti board on the "Starters" menu was perhaps $12, but their website now lists it at $22 and the restaurant menu has it at $24! I understand inflation, but our dinner pasta was only $19. They need to keep the website up-to-date. The Prosciutto & Pear pizza was very tasty and the pastas were good, although the one I wanted saw on the website had been changed. Will we return? Likely, although not as enthusiastically as we went this time. One final comment - the credit card POS machine, which the server hands you, starts the tipping at 20% and goes up. Took a chance visiting this establishment since it only had 3.5 stars but I wanted to experience it myself. Unfortunately, the experience was SAD. We ate inside since it was too breezy outside. While we were there, there were only 3 tables that were being served. First, we ordered a bottle of cab which was delicious - only reason I gave it 2 stars; however, the rest of our meals were pretty below average not to mention the VERY SLOW service - Bobby D was our server. The margherita baguette was well over done to the point that the edges were black. My daughter ordered the spinach & artichoke dip that came with cut-up pita bread. She ask for more pita - additional $1 which is ok - but that took forever to come. We had to ask another server to bring it. In addition to the wine, I ordered a beer - that took forever to come as well. Keep in mind that they only had 3 tables to service. Will NOT be visiting this establishment anymore. read more

I've been a server at various restaurants for 10 years. I understand all the issues with staffing etc that could lead to long wait times or less than spectacular service, so please understand this post is not lacking understanding or patience. But the service at Brambly Park is absurd. We waited nearly an hour for potato chips and a single glass of wine. There was a hair in the food that no one ever once apologized for or offered to remake (they did ultimately take the item off the bill, after we brought the issue up repeatedly, but to have even been offered the option to have the food item remade would have been nice). Multiple times we had to track down different servers to ask about our drinks (because we never knew who ours actually was, and the first one never came back). The manager, Laura, was rude, inattentive, and dismissive, even went so far as to blame us for our service issues because we switched tables shortly after being seated; note- we did not move ourselves, we asked the hostess who seated us if we could move and she escorted us to a new table and told us she would update the servers, plus we specifically told the servers we had moved as well. After having to chase Laura down for a second time (had to ask the staff yet again to get her after I saw her playing on her phone behind a server station 15 min after she was supposed to be "looking at our tab"), she finally gave us half off of one of our tabs. But honestly we would have rather paid full price and just had someone who actually treated us decently. TLDR; the ABSURD wait times at Brambly Park could have been overlooked if there was even a hint of apology or decent service here. The staff are inattentive, the manager is rude, and the menu is overpriced. It's a shame because the property and vibes are beautiful. But save your money and go to one of the many far superior options within walking distance in Scott's Addition. read more

Wanted to grab some drinks and an appetizer and had the worst service we've ever experienced today. When we were seated the server came over after about 15 min and asked if we wanted drinks. Ordered 2 cocktails and a water and as I was about to order something else the server quickly walked away. After the cocktails finally came out we were able to get some crab dip ordered. Out came a $15 appetizer with a decent amount of dip and 4 very tiny pieces of bread. Not sure who made that plating decision but between 3 people we had 2/3 of the dip left and nothing to eat it with. Perhaps they were thinking we would just eat it with the spoon they provided. After another 15 minutes we were able to flag the server down and ask for more bread. 30 minutes later 4 more tiny pieces of bread came out. There is nothing special about this bread. It's not toasted. It's not even cut through all the way and it's obnoxious that we waited 30 min for more. This whole time it seemed like the server was ignoring our table. In retrospect I should've just taken the rest to go and used my own dipping vessels. Overall wasted $45 for 2 mediocre cocktails and a subpar appetizer. Only two stars for a few reasons. I'll start by saying the food with pretty great, once the entire table received it. We were sat at a 10 top in a back room (behind the service station, kitchen, and next to an open door with 32 degree weather flowing in). While the door was eventually closed, we proceeded to wait over 10 minutes until a server appeared. First round of drinks and appetizers were great! When ordering entrees, I was told the risotto took 25 minutes. While I certainly appreciate the prolonged timing warning, figure out a way to ensure it comes out with the rest of the food or simply take it off the menu if you can't figure it out. Entrees were good but after asking the waiter for the last missing dish (after waiting over 5 minutes for it to show up after the rest of the table), the waiter proceeded to point to my mother stating "she actually took your dish but I'll go ahead and put in another." Ordered a liter of Pinot Noir and was told thats "not what I want," again happy to have a recommendation but the waiter simply said the Pinot Noir was "not good." Desserts were great, champagne was okay, but the coffee never showed. The overall service was decent at best as we were a lively bunch and he handled us well. read more
