I did some research and seen the Craftsman Design and Renovation van around the neighborhood. I called and the office person was wonderful and she said the owner would call me back to discuss next steps. Well today I talked to the owner and outlined my process so far. I had mentioned I started my search at Home Depot and had an idea of cabinets and countertops. He said he was a design build firm and people come to them to design, this was said in what I felt was a dismissive tone. The conversations started to take a turn. I said "don't customers have an idea of colors?". He then went to tell me that his company does remodels in the ballpark of 50K. He never asked me the size of my home or my budget. I guess my money is not good enough. I can only imagine the communication on a project if this is how the first impression went. UPDATE: the owner of Craftsman Design and Build got wind of this post and called to make this right. He did sincerely apologize. He called because he wanted this post down/revised. I understand that a bad review here can be hurtful to a business. I use reviews here to learn and choose where to spend my $. I am updating my rating a smidge because he did reach out to me. Her enthusiasm, taste, style, persona, eye for detail, organization skills, project management, and overall friendliness are beyond reproach, Myself and my wife had been on the fence about selling or renovating and were losing hope of finding a contractor until my wife found Krisanna and Recast Homes. From the moment we met her both my wife and I felt at ease, relaxed and the weigh of what seemed like the world was lifted. It was now an easy decision and we were staying in our home! One thing that jumped out at us and was a fantastic bonus is that she is not only a GC but also an interior / exterior designer. We spoke with Krisanna about remodeling our kitchen, making our laundry room more functional, updating the downstairs powder room, changing the flooring, redoing the stairs, building a loft and adding a wall to separate the dining room from the front room. What happened next blew us away! She took all the ideas that we had and then added to and enhanced each of them. Krisanna laid out a clear and concise timeline for the project and was able to tell us what was happening on each day and week for the duration of the renovation. Once we committed to the project the scale of the project became apparent to us but Krisanna was able to get ahead of any issue and would meet with us in person and by phone to discuss colors, materials, style, lighting. Once all the decision were made the demo started on time and on the day we had planned. Like every renovation project there are always unforeseen issues and we had water damage at the back door, powder room and under the kitchen island from slow leaks due to old bad CPVC piping. Krisanna immediately informed us of what was found, had a plan in place and repairs scheduled the same day. She would also arrive to the house and say things "like I have been thinking about this wall ..... we should leave a section open at the top for added light" and it made the wall 10x better. The samples she brought, the colors, paint, the furnishings, accessories, stove ideas, kitchen pendants and faucets were all exactly what we had wanted but could not put together on our own. Her help with the flooring was incredibly and spent many hours with us at CFM helping us decide on what worked best for the cabinetry color scheme. The finished product is jaw dropping and the quality of the finish is outstanding. We are delighted with how the house looks and how functional it now is. I have an office again, we have a Loft for a kids play room, a beautiful kitchen, front room, dinning room, family room and the laundry room is exceptional. If you have project and need a general contractor or designer then the only realistic option is Krisanna and Recast Home. She is simply the absolute best!!!

I had Leitner do three big remodels on my properties. I thought that they were reputable. The last…read morejob they did for me on my home was a major renovation in our master bath, the bulk of a $90K project, removing a tub and enlarging the shower. They did something wrong, and the shower leaked very very slowly until it finally became clear that it needed repair. They came and looked at it and incorrectly guessed that our problems were caused by settling. They then ghosted me. We hired a different contractor to do the $40K repairs. I repeatedly asked Leitner to help defray some of this cost. They hid behind their warranty, essentially saying that because it was a slow leak, too much time had passed and they refused to help. It should have lasted longer than 5 years!!! Who else's fault could this be? I guess it's my fault for trusting Leitner. I urge Yelpers to not make the same mistake I made.

The most reckless driving in a parking lot I've ever seen. Seriously could have killed someone. Thank god there wasn't someone trying to get across the lot at that moment as people frequently do in parking lots... the driver of this car laughed about the interaction as he walked into the 7-11. Tall, white, skinny, semi gray/black hair. Looked about 50 years old. Whoever owns this business I urge you to look into who is representing your company. As a lifetime resident of West Linn and a homeowner, I will never be looking into Lamont Bros for any work on my home due to this unfortunate experience.

Zach was very approachable and responded to all concerns that I had, and he discovered what had caused the leak in the window and repaired it. It turned out to be a bigger project as it turns out the wood had water damage, but he replaced and repaired what needed. Zach's pricing was very fair and reasonable and he made sure to explain everything he was doing which took away my anxiety about the whole thing. What I appreciated most was Zach's work ethic. He had a positive attitude during the project, showed up and put his work in each day, and I could really tell he genuinely cares about the project he was working on.
