It may pale in a big way to the OG in Midloathian (#1) but the burgers served here are incredibly average if not a bit underwhelming. Given the city's popularity with burger joints (#2), it most definitely sits squarely in the middle. The place is clean with a good number of tables and a perfectly casual vibe. It's well lit, well ventilated, plenty of parking and clean bathrooms to boot. The open kitchen makes it fun to see the burgers cooked on the spot and there is zero shortage of variety. There's a lot to choose from. As noted, the burgers here are okay but are short of stellar. Their specialty hollywood burger with grilled jalapenos, onion, bacon, and pepperjack cheese was messy, as as their smokey bull burger (same as previous but with bbq sauce) and the steak burger was a tad overcooked. I didn't get better luck with their yard bird fried chicken sandwich and their french fries are also a tad disappointing as well. The other star deduction is for their staff. Most of them are young teenage types who don't take the job seriously, which has resulted in order mishaps, plenty of attitude and lots of unsatisfactory experiences. I'll start with saying that the actual burger meat is very tasty and moist. The buns are well toasted and we'll buttered. Now what disappointed me was I ordered "Plain Jane Burger" from their menu. Our son goes to college near Branded Burger and my husband and I love to bring the family here while visiting. The burgers are real beef and you can customize or order their signature burgers. They also have chicken sandwiches that look awesome. I haven't tried one yet but plan to. The fries and fried jalapeños were very flavorful and fresh! The only complaint I have is that the buns could be softer but they're still good. The service is usually good but it takes a bit long sometimes due to them making everything fresh when ordered. If you sit somewhere else in the restaurant you first go to the counter to order and then find a place to sit. They had a lot of the tables unavailable for obvious reasons, which is fine. Bathrooms were decorated in a cute country way, but oh my gosh they need work done on the toilets and the smell in there was rank. It's a football season Saturday morning in TEXAS. We are out shopping and rest on a place to eat that appears to have televisions, 18 to be exact. Not one TV is on. All dark. I ask the cashier prior to ordering if at all possible can the TVs work and can we turn them on. The game is starting. Not just A game but THE game. TCU and Michigan are undefeated (they are playing each other but that's not the point). I ordered and waited. Not for the food. But for the TVS. The cashier proceeded to pull a baby, yes a child from behind the register instead of turning on the 18 TVS. I ask again. Nothing. I asked a cook. The cook asked the bartender. The bartender Kelsey got an attitude with the cook and proceeded to tell the cook how much work she has to do loud enough for me to hear. Just a poor attitude. Updated review 5/18/19 - so the food is great. The service not so much. We come here often and it's never consistent. We always ask for the fried pickles to come out first with an extra ranch and we have never gotten the extra ranch and the fried pickles come out with the food. The cashiers don't pay attention or are distracted so we have to take our food back. They're always careless and inattentive. It's typically the young cashiers who don't pay attention so just pay extra attention if they're up there. Today was one of those days again so I'm fed up and updating my review. My recommendation is that you make them read your order back to you. We came here during lunch and are very happy we did so! I got the branded cheeseburger while he got the plain Jane. We also started with fried pickles which did not disappoint. As a pickle connoisseur, these were pretty damn good. The burgers have great flavor and the fries were thick and fresh. The environment is great. It's industrial/rustic inside. It is a little loud but we're not yelling at each other. I'm a picky eater and will not give my service to a place with poor service or food and I can't wait to be back. There is an outdoor patio and a full bar so I think this place is great for all types of families/couples. Not overly priced in my opinion. Sorry for the awful pictures. WE WILL NEVER RETURN! Been coming here for almost four years and it seems each year it consistently gets worse and worse. Today was the final straw! Several empty tables but we ended up having to clear our own table. Service was horrible, took over an hour to get our order and when it was finally done it was wrong! It's not like it was packed or busy, it just plain SUCKS! The food quality itself has also gone way down, like almost McDonalds quality and flavor. We watched six people working in the grille area and they were all moving slower than any crew I've ever watched. Having a good service background myself I have a pretty good understanding of fast food and made to order menus both. The burger was a very traditional burger that was simply seasoned and tasted delicious. The fries were perfectly seasoned as well. This was my first time at the Waxahachie location.
