Really love the flavors of Brassica! I tried a combo bowl with the brisket and glazed bacon. So good with bold flavors! Love the options of the all the veggies for their bowl. Their fries and pink lemonade are really yummy too! It does get super busy on weekends, so just be aware. Also, being in Short North, you'll have to search around for parking. read more

So good!! What an innovative concept. The subvert comparisons that it's a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern Chipotle or Piada is disrespectful for they pale in comparison. Got the falafel pita and minty pink lemonade which was life changing. Will definitely be back. read more

It does not matter if you take it to go or dine in, the consistent execution of producing great food at Brassica is to be commended. I have tried a large portion of the menu and love everything. If you have a craving Lebanese style food in a hurry, this is the place to be. The Tahini chocolate chip cookies cannot be beat! read more

If you want incredible food quick and cheap, brassica is the place to go! I am a die hard Mediterranean foodie and this is really very good. It's really a Mediterranean chipotle where you can create your own meal from start to finish. Make sure to get pitta and humus here as it's one of the best things on the menu! Let me start by saying the food is awesome in this place. Not a tremendous selection, but what they do have is absolutely delicious. I had the Lamb Bacon Sandwich and was extremely delighted. Being my first time here the employees were extremely patient and helpful and I couldn't ask for better service. The location is on Hight St and not the easiest to get to, but if you make it, you will be very happy! I will be returning for sure!!!!! read more

Really interesting concept. The brisket was so tender and juicy, I highly recommend that. Their house sauce is really good and well. Ask for some on tge side to dip your fries and and you won't be disappointed. The carrots were also a good choice as a topping. I highly recommend getting the fries. The only downfall to this place is it is a little small, not a lot of seating so don't try to go there and dine in with a large group. read more

Brassica is delicious, it is like Chipotle for Mediterranean food. I always get the salad and rice and beans, chicken, hummus, crispy onions, special sauce, roasted carrots, and a side of pita, and it is at least two meals. The staff is always so kind and patient when explaining the meal options. I've not eaten in at a Brassica location, but the tables always seem clean and well taken care of. This review is making me crave this, I'm going to have to go sometime soon! read more

My friend Miriam took me to Brassica last year and I was INSTANTLY IN LOVE! We went to the Short North location, it's defiantly got that New York vibe. Defiantly a tight space so be prepared. The nice thing is that most people don't stay long so you can usually get seating pretty quickly. AND it is the Short North so be aware of the new parking policies! No one wants a ticket. I love love love the pita, hummus, and all the veggies! It's kind of a build your own vibe and I love it. I always get the bowl with pita on the side. (DO IT OR WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS) Oh man is it good. Their sauces are cool too and you can totally get them on the side if you aren't sure. They also have some delicious fries! I don't get them every time but they are really good, especially if it's your first time. They also have some cool drink options too! Get a drink and keep refilling. Guys I'm getting hungry for this just writing about it! It's my favorite! read more

My husband and I are new to Columbus and couldn't wait to try the infamous, Brassica. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the super friendly and informative staff. As I mentioned it was our first time there and they were more than willing to explain the menu/guide us through the ordering process. Each selection was fresh and made with incredible ingredients - two things we always love! We ate here roughly five hours ago and I haven't stopped talking (raving) about it. Brassica from the founders of Northstar a Columbus favorite! Brassica vegetables are highly regarded for their nutritional value and the stars on their menu. You can have an organic, whole wheat pita filled with vegetables as well as antibiotic free meats or a rich greens salad covered with incredibly flavorful grilled vegetables - eggplant, carrots, cauliflower. Stopped by on Saturday for lunch and we arrived at just the right time we walked in, the friendly associates were happy to answer our questions as we made our wonderful creations. My friend had a salad with falafel and I had salad and the friendly associate told me I could 1/2 and 1/2 two proteins so I went with chicken and falafel. I also had baba ganoush which was so good, paired great with the protein and the veggies - carrots, cauliflower, pickled cabbage, beets. There were a few sauces to pair with your salad. I had roasted tomato and the house sauce on the side. The food was so good, the flavoring was amazing, it didn't really need any sauce at all. Truly one of the best fast casual meals I've ever had and that's simply what you get the best in fresh, healthy, local food from Brassica! Run, don't walk to Brassica delicious!!! read more

Looooove! Falafel, DIY salad/sandwich with brisket (to die for), pickled veggies, and all the brassica you can ask for... Top it off with fries and a beer. Seriously one of my favorite meals! Parking is always going to be messy on Friday nights and on weekends in the Short North - watch for permit only signs and go for the parking lots across the street (or along Goodale Park) if you're running short on time or patience. There are other locations in Upper Arlington and Bexley that may have better parking options, but the downside to that is you don't get to walk around the lovely Short Noth after a satisfying meal! read more

What a good experience! I usually do not venture out and try new and exciting food, but I'm so glad that I did. Their food is so fresh, I love the open kitchen atmosphere where you can see all of the workers, and their masks, preparing the food. I love that they have mixed the ease of accessibility with something other than "fast" food. Each employee that I spoke with today was so very welcoming and helpful. If not for the food, the experience with the employees would bring me back! They are following all of the safe procedures and guidelines. I wish they wore name tags so I could call out my new best friend behind the counter ;) read more

this was maybe the best falafel pita sandwich i've ever had. the presentation is awesome. we also saw the pita freshly baked in the oven, which was cool. my pita tasted fresh. my boyfriend got the brisket sandwich and his was saucy and had more of a marinated, cooked feel rather than fresh, which makes sense. he also got the spicy sauce which was, wow, definitely spicy. the mint lemonade was great, too. i liked the eggplant, but i don't think it really went well with the sandwich. i preferred the tzatziki sauce over the house sauce (the house sauce kinda just tasted too creamy for me?). and i thought the baba ghanoush tasted like a shoe, but maybe that's just what baba ghanoush tastes like. also the staff was really nice! everyone was super helpful and explained the ingredients of things or were happy to put sauces on the side if we weren't sure about them i'd definitely recommend this place and come back to it the next time i'm in columbus read more

For those who aren't toddlers, one can almost attest that life has its trade offs and ups & downs. Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player of all time, but isn't currently a great team owner. Jennifer Aniston is one of the most attractive women, but also may not have the most drama free life. Steve Jobs amassed more money than almost any one ever did, yet lived a relatively short life. One might say that trade offs may in fact be inevitable in life. Unfortunately, my trade off is that I am not as monetarily blessed as Jeff Bezos. However, the positive is that I do believe I have is the ability to ascertain and identify really quality food. And Brassica serves some savory, high quality food. My friends and I probably ordered their signature dishes. I got some Brassica fries and a pita chicken sandwich. My other friends procured some salad bowls. The fries were some of the better fries I've ever tasted, incredibly bomb. The crust, crisp as a chilly fall morning. The potato filling was soft, buttery, and most importantly, piping hot. And their pita bread sandwich was undeniably decadent, abounding with Mediterranean flavor. Now, although those were great in their own right, I do believe the best thing that's made here are the pillow soft, fragrant, and divine pita bread. It's so amazing to me how something so simple yet exceptionally made can be the star of the show. Don't get me wrong, the other aspects of my meal were tremendous, solid 4 / 5, but for some reason, my simple, 7 inch in diameter, flour pita bread stood out amongst the rest. What really put this review over the top was the terrific customer service that Sophia (cashier / team member) displayed. It's the little things that get the people going. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The lack of customer care, patience, and professionalism I encountered from the Manager on Duty was entirely unacceptable, and doesn't deserve even a half star, but I had to choose one. On Father's Day, my family ordered five bowls, two of which were seasonal bowls made with the original ingredients with the exception of extra lime. One of these bowls was specifically meant for my husband, who is currently in the hospital. I had raved to him about your restaurant, as it was one of the few healthy options he could safely enjoy during his stay. Unfortunately, the meal was prepared with a blatant lack of care. Even after it was made clear that this was a special meal for him, his portion size was equivalent to a half-bowl, and it was entirely missing the onions and tomatoes. Seeking to resolve the issue, I called the restaurant and was placed on hold. When the phone was picked up, the staff member did not offer a greeting, a name, or any indication of who was speaking. I politely stated, "Hi, I was holding for the manager," to which she abruptly replied, "This is." When I asked for her name, her response was unclear and unkind. Despite maintaining a calm and respectful tone while explaining that my husband's hospital meal for Father's Day had been made incorrectly, the manager was immediately combative and argumentative for absolutely no reason. Instead of offering a basic level of customer service or empathy, I was met with disrespect. Your company's mission proudly states: *"We strive to empower people through radical accessibility to natural food."* Unfortunately, the radical lack of care and professionalism I experienced completely contradicts that standard. The coffee is self serve which was nice and they just give you a mug after you pay. So unlimited refills! Yes! Our food was brought over by our nice waiter which made sure we were taken care of so that was nice. The pancakes were very fluffy and light and were topped off with banana slices. The sausage on a side plate was super tasty. I could taste the pepper and rosemary seasoning and it was very juicy. The coffee was very good and I served myself another hot cup! I had no idea this place was coming, but as soon as I heard, I knew I needed to check it out. Although Brassica is right in the heart of the Short North, I did find it somewhat difficult to find because the storefront is so tiny and there is no signage out front (but they only opened a week ago so that will probably change). I soon realized that one way to spot Brassica is to find the line of people wrapping around the sidewalk, because that is what I found upon pulling up; there were about 25 people in front of us on a Tuesday night! Not bad for a place that has only been open a week. While I enjoyed my time in line getting to know some of my Short North community members (shout out to the older gentlemen giving us boy advice), it did get old after about 20 minutes. I kept trying to peek my head inside to see what was taking so long, and I decided it is because of the way they have the kitchen set up. There is one person individually making pita and putting them, 4 at a time, into an oven that is right near the front door. There is very little space for people to line up, which left most of the line outside. Another problem was that the guy who was responsible for the first step in preparing people's dishes (the guy who would put in rice or warm up your tortilla at Chipotle) was also responsible for dressing new batches of the greens with lemon juice, sea salt, and olive oil. It was a lot of work for one person! They were also out of rice and lentils by the time we got to the front of the line, but again, since it's their first week open, I have to let that slide. They offered us extras greens and hummus for our salads instead! Now, moving on to the actual food portion, everything was delicious. They have very unique options for veggies, and I can tell they put a lot of work into preparing each element of their offerings. If you order a salad or a pita sandwich, you can choose one protein (chicken, brisket, lamb bacon, or felafel) and add as many veggies as you want. The veggie selection includes fried onions, pickled cabbage, sliced beets, marinated carrots, cauliflower with jalapenos, and eggplant. Each one had its own flavor and honestly my salad didn't even need any dressing because there were so many different flavors going on! I wanted to try their house-made pita as well, so I added a side of hummus and pita, but I didn't end up eating it. The salad was so filling, I definitely didn't leave hungry! I think we will see Brassica's menu go through some changes over the next few months as they work out some of the kinks, but overall I think this North Star concept restaurant was much needed in the Short North, it has a great price point for the area, and aside from a lack of space inside the restaurant, it is a wonderful option for a quick place to eat. read more

Believe the hype! Brassica truly lives up to its stellar reputation. As an out-of-towner, I was skeptical, but this place blew me away. I opted for the falafel salad and went all out with toppings. The variety was mind-boggling - sweet beets, crunchy radishes, tangy cabbage, smoky eggplant, perfectly roasted cauliflower and carrots... the list goes on. Each ingredient was so flavorful it could've been a dish on its own. What impressed me most was the generous portions. This wasn't just a sad pile of lettuce with a few toppings sprinkled on top. Brassica loads you up with a colorful mountain of veggies that's as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. The falafel itself deserves a special mention - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. It's clear they've perfected their recipe. If I lived in Columbus, I'd be a regular here without a doubt, I can't imagine getting bored with the options. For anyone visiting Columbus or locals looking for a healthy, delicious meal, Brassica is a must-try. We were in a pinch and needed a quick dinner at 5pm, but when we arrived at Brassica the line was already out the door! We were told is moves very quickly though, so we waited it out. And yes, it does move super quickly, and people typically eat quickly and leave, so the tables open up quickly as well. I love me some mediterranean food so I had high expectations! The pita looked so fluffy so I had to order a sandwich. I went with extra chicken (always my go to) and this thing was stuffed sooo nicely. I initially worried that a sandwich wouldn't fill me up enough, but they did not skimp on the food here. The chicken itself is good but a little too salty for my tastes. However, you get to pick your own ingredients, so if you're smart about it, you can offset the salt pretty well with hummus and your choice of veggies. I also ordered a side pita, but I did not finish it. I love pita, but here it is way more bread than pita. As a sandwich it worked great, but as a side, it tasted more like I was eating a roll (they're quick thick). Obviously fresh baked bread is nothing to complain about, I just much prefer a flatter pita! read more

This is probably my favorite restaurant these days; the flavors and smells here are amazing. It's almost like a Mediterranean version of chipotle, but the selection far outshines anything you can get at Ye Old Mexican Grill. Want amazing falafel? They've got 'em. Want glazed lamb bacon? That's here too! Upsides: great flavor. Great selection. Endless combinations. Lots of sauces to choose from. Meat eaters welcome. Vegetarian and Vegan options also available, and not an afterthought either. Enough food that my wife and I usually split a bowl. Downsides: very limited seating - Always packed. And you can barely fit 4 people at a booth, so don't bring a big group. Price is a little high for a lunchtime meal, but it's about what you'd expect from this quality of food and ingredients in this particular location (the Short North). Their hummus and their baba is great, but I prefer them on the side. The flavor of these just doesn't blend in with all the other flavors they put in the dish. They should stop insisting on those toppings making their way into the salad. Highly recommend. Go get some amazing food. read more

The food was incredibly tasty, bursting with fresh flavors that took me straight to the Mediterranean. I've had my fair share of Mediterranean dishes, but the quality here is among the best I've ever experienced. As someone who's pretty picky about falafel, I was pleasantly surprised. I came to Ohio to visit my sister and her roommate. We came to Brassica for dinner, and when we walked in we were greeted by the very friendly servers. We hadn't been there before, so they explained all of the choices and were so patient through it all! At the end of the line, a server Mitchell told us about all of the sauces, sides, and drinks, and was very warm, friendly, and open! I usually get served slightly less than the people being served both in front of me and behind me, and have noticed that the few times that I have been to the restaurant. Wonderful find in the Short North. Great for a casual meal with gourmet food. My personal favorite is a bowl with beef brisket, hummus, babaganous, eggplant, and red cabbage. The flavors are bold, unique, and creative. Get pita on the side. For drinks, try the pink lemonade; it will not disappoint. If you go during a busy time, be prepared for a long line, but luckily it moves quickly and is definitely worth it. read more

Imagine a mediterranean chipotle. You start with your bowl, add rice, pick your meat --- now pause--- they have GLAZED LAMB BACON--- if you want to try something awesome, do it. Do it now. I didn't try the pickled red cabbage, but I did add the cauliflower and jalapeno mix to my chicken bowl and it was pretty good. If you want a wrap or bowl, this place is definitely where you should go, but just be aware of the limited seating space if you go when it's busy. read more

(seriously, medical people are going to know the good eateries nearby -- they get a ton of delivery because they're always busy & they aren't going to mess around with a crappy eating place for their lunch breaks). I got an immediate "OH HELL YEAH" and enthusiastic recommendations from not only the folks who were involved in my medical stuff, but also the desk staff, other nurses/techs, etc etc. That's an amazing sign -- a place that gets immediate "OH MY GOD YES" when you ask folks at random if it's any good. If you're unsure what to get, or are looking for a variety, the flavor savor special is the way to go! I char grilled flavor on the chicken & beef is just the right amount; and they're both tender and cooked excellently! The rice is fluffy & flavorful & having the salata & falafel in the dish made it all the better! The hummus & pita is great, and you HAVE to get the hot sauce with this (and for everything else) it is a game changer and absolutely delicious!! The baklava is light & the perfect way to end a great meal!

I always order a chicken Shawarma bowl with as many toppings as I can. I opt for the house sauce as I think it is the best. And I always get extra as one is truly never enough to cover the bowl. I have never dined in, but the food is always warm when I get home and seems to travel really well. Recently, they forgot 2/3 of the sauces for my family's order, so that was a bummer. But luckily, the food is delicious enough that I was able to still enjoy my meal without the sauce. The prices are fantastic for how much food you get. A bowl usually lasts me two meals! The food is so fresh and so flavorful and never makes me feel bad after eating it. 6/5 stars! Totally recommend!
