When I saw that another semi-healthy, fast-casual place from California with a seemingly randomly chosen name was in town, (after I tried Honeygrow,) I figured I oughta try it out. And it's kind of on my way most days, so I did. It's in the Short North so parking can be crazy, even on a weekday afternoon. It is big and airy and open. A pretty good number of options on the menu, plus some sides and snacks, plus build your own, plus some interesting drinks. I went with the steak mezze, which has marinated steak, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc., over jasmine rice. There is an Italian-like dressing to pour on it, which I did, and it comes with a little cup of hummus and a piece of bread if you want. Those were good, not great, but made a nice palate cleanser between bites of the main dish. Which was pretty darn good. The serving size was decent. I thought the steak looked skimpy, but there was enough there to balance all of the other ingredients, and I actually ended up with some steak bits left over at the end after eating all the veggies. I know, shocker. I just had to eat them all then... I also had one of their bottled teas, which was decent, nothing great. For about the same price as Honeygrow, $15 for an entrée, it was much better quality stuff, maybe a little bigger portion, and a bigger, nicer place. Service at both was very good. Counter service, but fast and friendly and professional. There's another Sweet Green opening, in Dublin, next week. Of the two chains, it is definitely my choice, and there are other things on the menu that I want to try. I hesitate to give it five stars because, I mean, it's fast casual, thrown in a bowl. But say 4 1/2. It was darn good, it was decently priced for the quality and quality, and the whole experience was good. I'm sure I will be back. read more

This was my first time here because I just moved right down the street from it. I downloaded the app first and got $5 my first purchase which was nice. The place itself is very nice on the inside. It is very clean and very modern, it would be a great place just to sit and relax while you eat. I got the chicken pesto parm and I walked over to pick it up. It was so tasty, there was not one bit of it left and I would very much recommend getting it if you haven't tried it before. It was made right on time for my scheduled pick up. I always taper my expectations when ordering food through a delivery service, but I had ordered one of the steak salads in the past and had a really good experience. This bowl was not impressive, from portions to quality of ingredients. There was a weird balance, like a ton of pickled onions and rice, however small amount of tomatoes, cucumbers and hummus. I absolutely love the freshness of sweet green! The short north location is perfect but can make parking a bit difficult; however, the large dining room and spacious seating is worth it! Service is quick, chipotle style with better ingredients. I loved the Harvest Bowl and the proportions of that were HUGE, the garlic steak was yummy but you get less bang for your buck with the actual salads. This location of Sweetgreen is the first in Columbus and it opened several months ago in a building on High Street that's been in need of some TLC. They completely renovated the space and it looks pristine now. I finally paid them a visit a few weeks ago because I was craving something healthy and a salad sounded great. The staff was friendly, greeted me right away, and answered the few questions I had. I went with the kale caesar salad. It came with shredded kale and chopped romaine, tomatoes, parmesan crisps, shaved parm, caesar dressing, and I got mine with tofu (instead of chicken). I found it to be a really generous portion and it honestly could have made for two meals for me. Everything tasted fresh. The parm crisps were a bit chewy for me. I would have preferred your classic crouton, but that's about the only complaint I have. I haven't been back yet, because I prefer to dine at local businesses instead of chains. That said, there's always a time and a place and I'm sure I'll return at some point. read more

I have had sweet green 4 times since they opened and it's been about 50/50. 2 times it was great, on the expensive side but very good. One other time I ordered on doordash, 2 bowls and they fully didn't include one of the bowls. When I did get it, it had a very small about of toppings and protein, super inconsistent with what I had from sweetgreen before. This 4th time is what prompted me to write a review- so salty I couldn't finish even half of my bowl. I probably love salt more than the average person but the miso glazed salmon was unbearable with how tough the fish was and how salty it was. I ordered umami seasoning as an extra since I haven't tried it before and instead of putting it on the side like other sauces my bowl was completed loaded up with it, so I just couldn't finish it because it was the saltiest thing ever- definitely received 6x the amount I should have. For the price, I think sweetgreen should be a bit more consistent. I'm sure I will keep coming back because of convenience of healthy options, but I wouldn't necessarily read more

I have eaten here once a week for the past month! Sweetgreen is the PERFECT Sunday Dinner reset for me and my husband after a long weekend of eating out and as the Sunday Scaries hit it is so easy to order online pick up and take home! I have enjoyed it both in store and online pick-up and both ways are just as delicious! I was nervous to carry out since I live about 10-15 away in Grandview but it traveled beautifully! The meals are high protein, nutritious, fresh and clean eating. The menu states all the nutritional facts about each meal which is my favorite which you know exactly what you are getting! My go to bowl is the crispy rice bowl with dressing on the side and my husbands go to is the avocado chicken bowl. YAY SWEETGREEN! Cbus needed this so bad and I'm beyond happy we have one. The space is beautiful and very open. Lots of seating, which wasn't full on a Sunday, but when I walk by during lunch it's packed. Very easy to understand menu, with certain specials, such as the buffalo chicken salad, are online/app and you just have to ask. One star off because I had the smallest scoop of chicken ever and that made me sad. Still a delicious salad and I will for sure be back all the time. PARENTS & CARETAKERS BEWARE: The food is delicious but it's not worth the ER bill, trust me. Please don't take your kids here and/or people that have a habit of swallowing things they shouldn't. They only offer compostable forks and they are an easy choking hazard. I tried it myself and it was like biting through a raw noodle. I had my 2 year old right next to me the whole time we were eating. Next thing I knew he had put his fork on the table with missing prongs. We had to go to the children's hospital mid meal. The staff didn't even come over to check on us after letting them know what was happening. I unfortunately will be boycotting until they switch to a safer option. This was my first time eating here and I had the Caramelized Garlic Steak & Ripple Fries w/ Pickled Ketchup. Everything was good, but the steak & fries were a bit stale. I was struggling to bite into some of the fries... The pickled ketchup was something new for me & it was delicious! I would have liked a bit more steak for the price point. Overall, everything in the platter (steak, wild rice, sweet potatoes, broccoli, tomatoes, & pesto vinaigrette) complimented each other well. The restaurant was very clean & the service was prompt. However, I would have liked to have been asked if I had the app to scan for reward points since I forgot. Regardless, I would still recommend coming as the food is of quality ingredients & they have a decent sized menu. I was super skeptical from this alone HOWEVER I was pleasantly surprised when I received my food, it came with a large serving, and the food was incredibly fresh. Normally I'm a sauce girly, but with this bowl I squeezed the fresh lemon, and called it a day. The flavors were diverse and every bite gave you something new. I will definitely be going back, but in person ... I feel like I was overcharged when adding items everything was extra by at least 50 cents, making it rather expensive. I tried it few times enough to form an opinion. Concept is good and similar to many others in the area and even on same street. I'm sure the toppings and ingredients are fresh. I did notice the steak bits were lukewarm at best if not cold room temperature. Not sure that's good. Also the bowl rarely comes out like the menu picture. Couple of times, the portions left something to be desired. For the price point it kind of falls short. The menu offers various diverse bowl recipes. I'm just not sure some of these recipes topping mesh well together. It would make more sense to have it as build your own for one flat price but it's nickeling and diming upcharging for every little topping if you build it your own you end up way north of $20 for a bowl. Is it worth the hype?. It's still good; but not great, imo. Similar concepts in the area deliver it marginally better. This one somehow misses the mark. read more

The steak tasted like a decent pot roast. The food was ok, the problem was for a $17 price it was a child-size serving. It looked like they were using a 1/3 cup to portion out the ingredients. We also ordered the $3.99 Hummus and focaccia bread. Tiny serving of hummus and huge brick of bread. The hummus was fine with a nice lemony streak. The bread was stale and tasteless. I rarely leave bad reviews, but after the experience my boyfriend and I had at this Sweetgreen, I feel compelled to share. We walked in during a quiet time - the restaurant had only three people in it - and immediately got in line. There were two employees standing right in front of us, doing absolutely nothing. Despite us standing there, they completely ignored us for over 7 minutes. One of the girls, named Tezz, didn't even acknowledge our presence. It was as if we weren't there at all. As if that wasn't bad enough, another man and woman came out from the back, started whispering, and just stared while laughing hysterically with Tezz and the other girl. The whole situation was unprofessional and uncomfortable. There was no communication, no greeting, just complete disregard for customers who were the only ones in line. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was appalling. I really hope management takes this seriously, as this is not how customers should be treated, especially when the restaurant is practically empty. read more
