The food was $50 for two puny half filled subs, inedible coleslaw (absolutely disgusting), a pickle, and a GF cookie (that was not delivered). Now onto the really bad part... Within 30 minutes of eating this trash, both my wife and I had to run for the toilet (I'll leave it at that). Bottom line... Screw this place. Also, on Saturdays, you can order a pound of chicharron for $20. A bit about costs: I think it's a bit expensive. A single empanada is $5. There are price breaks for larger quantities ordered. Italian sub and double patty burgers are each $13. The Appolonia Italian is a decent size, but the buger, even with double patty, felt small. The service is super friendly! The quality of their offerings is much higher than average. Everything tasted really good, no notes. The spicy Italian is a bit spicier than I prefer with their version of a giardiniera on it, but Mr loved it. All in all, a generous 4. I'd get it again and recommend it with my notes so you know what to expect. (Sorry I forgot a pic of the burger)

The sandwich was loaded with flavor had a small kick for the the meats but so tasty, It had capicola ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese and all the sub toppings. However the real reason I wanted to stop here was for the Pork Belly Chicharron! I need to let you know these are some of the best. The box is huge and loaded full. I was super excited to have a few left over for later that night. Thet are getting ready to open an additional location soon, a stand alone and I can't wait to try the new location. Until then don't wait get in there, you be very happy you did!

I had no idea this place was coming, but as soon as I heard, I knew I needed to check it out. Although Brassica is right in the heart of the Short North, I did find it somewhat difficult to find because the storefront is so tiny and there is no signage out front (but they only opened a week ago so that will probably change). I soon realized that one way to spot Brassica is to find the line of people wrapping around the sidewalk, because that is what I found upon pulling up; there were about 25 people in front of us on a Tuesday night! Not bad for a place that has only been open a week. While I enjoyed my time in line getting to know some of my Short North community members (shout out to the older gentlemen giving us boy advice), it did get old after about 20 minutes. I kept trying to peek my head inside to see what was taking so long, and I decided it is because of the way they have the kitchen set up. There is one person individually making pita and putting them, 4 at a time, into an oven that is right near the front door. There is very little space for people to line up, which left most of the line outside. Another problem was that the guy who was responsible for the first step in preparing people's dishes (the guy who would put in rice or warm up your tortilla at Chipotle) was also responsible for dressing new batches of the greens with lemon juice, sea salt, and olive oil. It was a lot of work for one person! They were also out of rice and lentils by the time we got to the front of the line, but again, since it's their first week open, I have to let that slide. They offered us extras greens and hummus for our salads instead! Now, moving on to the actual food portion, everything was delicious. They have very unique options for veggies, and I can tell they put a lot of work into preparing each element of their offerings. If you order a salad or a pita sandwich, you can choose one protein (chicken, brisket, lamb bacon, or felafel) and add as many veggies as you want. The veggie selection includes fried onions, pickled cabbage, sliced beets, marinated carrots, cauliflower with jalapenos, and eggplant. Each one had its own flavor and honestly my salad didn't even need any dressing because there were so many different flavors going on! I wanted to try their house-made pita as well, so I added a side of hummus and pita, but I didn't end up eating it. The salad was so filling, I definitely didn't leave hungry! I think we will see Brassica's menu go through some changes over the next few months as they work out some of the kinks, but overall I think this North Star concept restaurant was much needed in the Short North, it has a great price point for the area, and aside from a lack of space inside the restaurant, it is a wonderful option for a quick place to eat. read more

Believe the hype! Brassica truly lives up to its stellar reputation. As an out-of-towner, I was skeptical, but this place blew me away. I opted for the falafel salad and went all out with toppings. The variety was mind-boggling - sweet beets, crunchy radishes, tangy cabbage, smoky eggplant, perfectly roasted cauliflower and carrots... the list goes on. Each ingredient was so flavorful it could've been a dish on its own. What impressed me most was the generous portions. This wasn't just a sad pile of lettuce with a few toppings sprinkled on top. Brassica loads you up with a colorful mountain of veggies that's as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. The falafel itself deserves a special mention - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. It's clear they've perfected their recipe. If I lived in Columbus, I'd be a regular here without a doubt, I can't imagine getting bored with the options. For anyone visiting Columbus or locals looking for a healthy, delicious meal, Brassica is a must-try. We were in a pinch and needed a quick dinner at 5pm, but when we arrived at Brassica the line was already out the door! We were told is moves very quickly though, so we waited it out. And yes, it does move super quickly, and people typically eat quickly and leave, so the tables open up quickly as well. I love me some mediterranean food so I had high expectations! The pita looked so fluffy so I had to order a sandwich. I went with extra chicken (always my go to) and this thing was stuffed sooo nicely. I initially worried that a sandwich wouldn't fill me up enough, but they did not skimp on the food here. The chicken itself is good but a little too salty for my tastes. However, you get to pick your own ingredients, so if you're smart about it, you can offset the salt pretty well with hummus and your choice of veggies. I also ordered a side pita, but I did not finish it. I love pita, but here it is way more bread than pita. As a sandwich it worked great, but as a side, it tasted more like I was eating a roll (they're quick thick). This is probably my favorite restaurant these days; the flavors and smells here are amazing. It's almost like a Mediterranean version of chipotle, but the selection far outshines anything you can get at Ye Old Mexican Grill. Want amazing falafel? They've got 'em. Want glazed lamb bacon? That's here too! Upsides: great flavor. Great selection. Endless combinations. Lots of sauces to choose from. Meat eaters welcome. Vegetarian and Vegan options also available, and not an afterthought either. Enough food that my wife and I usually split a bowl. Downsides: very limited seating - Always packed. And you can barely fit 4 people at a booth, so don't bring a big group. Price is a little high for a lunchtime meal, but it's about what you'd expect from this quality of food and ingredients in this particular location (the Short North). Their hummus and their baba is great, but I prefer them on the side. The flavor of these just doesn't blend in with all the other flavors they put in the dish. I recently visited this restaurant and decided to try their salad, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The food was incredibly tasty, bursting with fresh flavors that took me straight to the Mediterranean. I've had my fair share of Mediterranean dishes, but the quality here is among the best I've ever experienced. As someone who's pretty picky about falafel, I was pleasantly surprised. I came to Ohio to visit my sister and her roommate. We came to Brassica for dinner, and when we walked in we were greeted by the very friendly servers. We hadn't been there before, so they explained all of the choices and were so patient through it all! The food is fresh and really flavorful. Vegetarian option is really good. The falafel is really good, and even the non-vegetarians have enjoyed it. The restaurant is definitely clean. I usually get served slightly less than the people being served both in front of me and behind me, and have noticed that the few times that I have been to the restaurant. Wonderful find in the Short North. Great for a casual meal with gourmet food. My personal favorite is a bowl with beef brisket, hummus, babaganous, eggplant, and red cabbage. The flavors are bold, unique, and creative. Get pita on the side. For drinks, try the pink lemonade; it will not disappoint. Imagine a mediterranean chipotle. You start with your bowl, add rice, pick your meat --- now pause--- they have GLAZED LAMB BACON--- if you want to try something awesome, do it. Do it now. Great food. Limited seating! More than your typical Mediterranean place in the toppings offered. I didn't try the pickled red cabbage, but I did add the cauliflower and jalapeno mix to my chicken bowl and it was pretty good. If you want a wrap or bowl, this place is definitely where you should go, but just be aware of the limited seating space if you go when it's busy. read more

I do love this place. The food is tasty and the combinations are endless. The only complaint is they really are cheap when it comes to a portion. WOW. So I had a…read moremedical appointment up in Westerville & as usual, due to health issues, couldn't eat before it -- which means I would be hungry & cranky by the time it was over. Husband came with me, and we were trying to find a reasonably inexpensive restaurant with good food. A quick search turned up a lot of *expensive* restaurants in the Polaris area, and restaurants that we weren't into at that point, but then I saw Agape' listed right near the Ohio Health offices up there. So I did what any sane hungry person would do -- I asked the nurses & techs at Ohio Health who were involved in the procedure, "Hey, that Agape place nearby? Any good?" (seriously, medical people are going to know the good eateries nearby -- they get a ton of delivery because they're always busy & they aren't going to mess around with a crappy eating place for their lunch breaks). I got an immediate "OH HELL YEAH" and enthusiastic recommendations from not only the folks who were involved in my medical stuff, but also the desk staff, other nurses/techs, etc etc. That's an amazing sign -- a place that gets immediate "OH MY GOD YES" when you ask folks at random if it's any good. So, my medical procedure over, we went to Agape'. OH MY GOD, YES. OH HELL YEAH. First, it's a chain, but it's a LOCAL chain, founded & based here in Columbus OH with only a few locations around the city at the moment. They seem to have focused on taking over the old/defunct Chipotle locations (Chipotle's mostly gone belly-up here), and repurposing it for their Greek/Mediterannean concept. Let me be clear for the folks in the back: AGAPE' IS NOT OWNED BY CHIPOTLE & HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. They're Columbus-local, & MORE POWER TO THEM. Agape' works like Chipotle -- select your base (salad, fresh pita bread, bowl), select your protein, select your sauces/spreads, load up on the fillings, and DAMMIT GET THE GREEK FRIES, THEY'RE SO FREAKIN' AWESOME...:cough: sorry. So both Husband and I had pita gyros with various different fillings and then made the "mistake" of ordering 2 portions of Greek Fries, one for each of us. FYI, those portions are BIG. One order of Greek Fries is more than enough for two people, but who cares, we've got leftover Greek Fries in the fridge for a snack later... :cough: sorry. The food is that good. We had to wait a bit for fresh pita (but who cares? FRESH HOT PITA!!!), all the fillings & protein & THOSE FRIES were fresh, hot, tasty, filling & just go ahead and add any other complimentary adjectives here, because Agape' deserves it. They took the Chipotle concept, improved it, ran with it, and GOD, I hope they succeed & stay the course, because I have regular medical stuff up in Westerville, and I really need a good inexpensive place to eat after those appointments are done. (My only minimal gripe -- no Clintonville location. Yet. The Westerville location is about 20 minutes up the road for us; the next closest seems to be out in Gahanna. But don't rush to expand, Agape' -- expanding too fast, too soon can sink a business hard. Take your time & focus on that glorious Greek food. AND THOSE FRIES.) Oh, and the baklava was PERFECT, too. ;)

I always order a chicken Shawarma bowl with as many toppings as I can. I opt for the house sauce as I think it is the best. And I always get extra as one is truly never enough to cover the bowl. I have never dined in, but the food is always warm when I get home and seems to travel really well. Recently, they forgot 2/3 of the sauces for my family's order, so that was a bummer. But luckily, the food is delicious enough that I was able to still enjoy my meal without the sauce. The prices are fantastic for how much food you get. A bowl usually lasts me two meals!
