For my order I got a salad with half chicken and bacon, crispy onions, pickled cabbage and cucumbers, cauliflower and special sauce. Brassica is in my top 5 favorite places to eat in CLE. I kept hearing about this place, but didn't think it would live up to the hype... man was I wrong. The staff is very engaging, addressing you as soon as you are in line and making sure you have your food prepared just the way you want. This type of attitude goes a long way for these types of restaurants. It is so easy for the server to miss something or add the wrong thing... not at Brassica! Brassica gives its customers meticulous attention to detail and that's one reason why I come here almost every week. The main reason why this place is an immediate favorite? The food. I will never go to chipotle again while Brassica exists. From the falafel to the baba; from the beets to the Brassica fries and garlic dip - I swoon for it all. I've tried all the meats except the brisket and I have to say, the falafel option is my favorite. I just get everything on it. Just pile it on please - and they do! If you come during a lunch hour or during a lower volume time (i.e. not Friday/Saturday) they will pile the food into your bowl until it is at risk at overflowing. These bowls are easily two meals. I'm so glad Brassica exists, in Cleveland! We got the chicken shawarma pita and the brisket pita. The meats were flavorful and tender, the brisket especially just melts in your mouth. But the real star of the show is the veggies, omg. Just get everything, all the toppings. I usually don't like salads but this place really puts veggies in a whole new perspective. I can't believe it took me so long to discover this neighborhood gem. My daughter and I went for the first time last week and we're already back for more. I love the flavors, the build your own concept and the super friendly staff. The Middle Eastern inspired food offers complex flavors and each item has its own twist. Came here on a Thursday afternoon after it was recommended by a friend. I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the salad option with brisket and a side pita. The minty pink lemonade was light and refreshing, definitely worth a try. The food was fantastic. They've managed to take traditionally bland veggies and season them in such a way that each ingredient stood firmly in its own right. I love that they have a simple selection of ingredients to choose from, as it keeps quality standards high while not overwhelming me during the selection process. I especially always make sure to order the lamb bacon and falafels. The lamb has such a unique flavor - the sweetness of their marinade marries the slight gamines and fattiness of the meat really well, and the falafels are just always flavorful and moist. The food here is always delicious! I I've been coming here for years and the quality of the food is always there. My recommendation is a Pita with hummus and all the toppings. Yesterday as I was picking up my order (the combo meal that is meant for 3-4 people) it started to downpour. Once they gave me my order I tried running back to my car but the paper bags disintegrated under the heavy rain and all my food came tumbling out, everything managed to survive the fall besides the bag of Pita, so after taking the food to my car I went back inside assuming I would pay for another 6 pita and be on my way, but instead of making me pay the staff simply gave me the 6 pita for free! On top of the hummus, I got their hummus seasoning and a little olive oil - then "salad" (kale/lettuce? Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday, it was pretty busy but the line moved at a good pace. I like the format of the menu and ordering, it's like chipotle/subway! Food itself was super good and really flavorful all around. The toppings like carrots/cucumbers/eggplant were all really good and added to the base bowl/salads well. Originally, I found the location while visiting Columbus, then discovered there was a location here in Shaker Heights. Brassica is one of my favorite restaurants on the east side, and I stop here whenever I'm in the area. Brassica allows you to customize your order to your liking, similar to Chipotle, but with mediterranean food. I know some people find it overwhelming to decide on their own toppings combination, but I personally don't mind and think it tastes good with whatever you end up choosing. All the workers I have encountered have been extremely nice, and the service is relatively fast depending on what time of day you go. I have noticed a rush during lunchtime when I visit during the week. As for the ambiance, it is relaxed and not too loud. There are several areas where you can sit inside the restaurant and in the market hall. They additionally offer outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Stopping at Brassica was my first trip to the Van Aken area and I was very impressed. Nice area with ample parking. Picked up Brassica to go for dinner and did not eat it for about 20-25 minutes until I got home, but it was still delicious. I had a bowl with falafel and added a pita on the side (which was an extra $1). I also got all of the veggies and toppings available including feta and the special sauce. Mixed together the flavors were incredible. But my favorite thing might have been the baba, so much more flavorful and smoky than other baba I have had before it added a great depth to the bowl.
